I think you're probably right. I'm trying not to buy into all the hype, but man, is he good or is he good?
David Greene might make it into one of the later rounds, I'm sorry but I have no idea who David Pollack even is.
Dallas needs a complete overhaul, pure and simple. Except for Roy Williams and maybe a couple linemen, they just don't have the talent to compete with anyone. Attitude or no.

Hmmm....sounds like a true cowboy fan speaking. With that, I could not agree more. On this forum I have been patient when talking about the cowboys, but
joc, you have opened the door. Having said that, I think Jerry tries too hard and too fast and it shows. He was granted a wish when he first took control of the franchise and hired JJ, but now some of those early(post JJ) mistakes are costing the team over the long run, not to mention the attitude; it all starts at the top. I think Jerry needs to stay in his skybox, shut his mouth, and let Bill do what Bill does best; he isn't one the greatest all time NFL coaches for no reason.
Overall, give the man (Bill) some time to put the pieces in place and I think the cowboys will be resurrected over the next couple of years. Yes, he will be there for at least the next two years (plenty of time).
Now that it's out the way, how about the National Championship? USC -vs- OU??
Matt Leinart or Adrian Peterson for Heisman??
snuffypuffer
Dec 3 2004, 03:55 PM
I want Adrian Peterson to win, that dude is just unreal. And that's not just because I'm biased towards OU, the kid's really, really good. But I have my doubts as to whether they'll give the Heisman to a freshman. Plus Jason White has already won Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year. Peterson was voted Offensive Newcomer of the Year, though.
OU vs USC, this game would rock. But wouldn't you like to see Utah get in the title game? I think that would be pretty cool.
Triniant
Dec 3 2004, 04:08 PM
Yes, Mr. Peterson is outstanding, I would not be suprised if he did win. I do not see the bias, now if you didn't support him, then and only then, would I question it.
To see Utah in the BCS would/will be amazing to me, let alone they make the championship game. Go Utes! Don't you like the change of pace?
snuffypuffer
Dec 3 2004, 06:36 PM
I think Utah is supposed to be going to the Fiesta Bowl, which rocks. I'd love to see them in the championship game, though.
I really wish Adrian Peterson would play at OU all four years, but as good as he is, I think he's gonna be leaving school early.

Unfortunately for Oklahoma, our youth, and people in general, you're probably right. It is very discouraging when these top athletes take off early. Does money supersede an education? Besides that, if you are that good, what is the problem riding it out another year, earn the degree, and reap the benefits thereafter?
snuffypuffer
Dec 4 2004, 07:49 PM
The sad truth is, he'll have a job somewhere, just because he's Adrian Peterson and played so well at OU for the couple years he'll be there. Plus, he's going to be making a lot of money in the NFL, so he can go to college later on in life if he wants.
Be honest, if you had a few million dollars waiting on you, whether you finished college or not, wouldn't you take it? I know I would.
Triniant
Dec 10 2004, 02:24 PM
Now you have me thinking. Hmm, it would be a hard choice for me. I tend to try and cover myself first, but then again, it would really depend on the situation I was currently in. Years of brainwashing has led me to this understanding. If I had to decide right now, I would say the money, but if I was already in, let's say my junior year of college, well I don't know, it is a tough one. How about the chance just to be in those shoes? Difficult decision, but it has to be made.
Anyways, best of luck to Mr. Peterson regardless if he goes pro (most likely) or stays in school. He has definitely earned it on the field and hey, he might win the Hesiman.
Snuffypuffer, we have been talking about this for awhile now, so are you ready for that much anticipated match up? USC -vs- OU?? Go Trojans! Any say on the outcome?

I like your biased confidence, but SC is going take this one. Of course this is coming from another biased and confident soul.........USC 37, OU 17. Let us not forget about last year's national championship snub.

Payback.
What a match up though, four Heisman candidates in the same game. I don't know if I am more excited to see USC play or watching these four individuals perform. Best wishes to both teams and all hopefuls.

Whew.....the Heisman race was a lot closer to me than what the final tally showed. I really thought one of the OU (Peterson or White) players was going to win it. NOTE - Peterson had the highest marks for a freshmen in Heisman history. Well congrats to all five participants.......hey speaking of Utah, not only did they make the BCS, but they had a finalist for the most coveted trophy in football.

Hey, I may not be a fan of the steelers, but I am a fan of football. Go steelers, of course if the cowboys could have anything to do with preventing their run, I would be all about it

. I think we are going to look back at this season, no matter what happens and understand what diamond in the rough that Pittsburgh really is/was.
Still waiting on that cowboys/steelers superbowl rematch

Your Cowboys had their chance to beat the Steelers weeks ago, and they, of course, blew it. (It was a great game, but neener anyhow

) There's a good chance of them going 15-1 this year, with a rookie quarterback. And they've beaten the two best teams in football, other than themselves, handily both times. Roethlisberger is the real deal, and he's only gonna get better. Can you say dynasty, boys and girls? New England is gonna have to play in Pittsburgh for the title game, and won't that be grand? Whoever wins the AFC is gonna win the Superbowl, I have a feeling about this.

. I really think that OU's gameplan was off, I think because of last years unfortunate loss that they really came into the orange bowl a little too hungry and were caught off guard. I know they are a very talented team and under different circumstances I think it would have been a closer game with the result up in the air.
I look forward to seeing them in the top five next year and Peterson is going to be an animal, look out college rushing record.
