Oh look, Mike Vick apologizes......hmmmmmmm.....and exactly what is he apologizing for? That he committed some incredibly cruel crimes, or that he got caught for them?

He can kiss my... oh nevermind. Let the dogs loose on him and let him stand there and apologize among them... and all the stolen family pets... and all the dead ones... and all the ones left to die a long painful death cuz no one gave a crap... He is a vile human being.

Apology?....Yeah, right...I can sum-up his most recent actions in two words: Damage Control, pure and simple. He's not remorseful for what he's done, he's remorseful beacuse he got caught and that it will now cost him everything his God-given ability once helped him achieve.

As far as I'm concerned, Mike Vick is NOW the worst thing that a person who was used to being in the spotlight could be.....irrelevant.

Well, we have a new one, Mr. Lance Briggs crashed his car.

But you know what Ted Kennedy did the same thing, and left a girl to drown. Didn't He run for president a few years later? So, I say no harm no foul. No body was hurt, nobody died, can't prove he was drunk. Didn't Chenney shoot a guy in the face when he was "sober"? Didn't the Secret Service provent local law acess until the next day?

Michael Vick Football Cards Chewed By Dogs Sell for $7,400

Wednesday, August 29, 2007

From FoxNews.com

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The eBay auction for 22 Michael Vick football cards, chewed up and slobbered on by two Missouri dogs, ended Wednesday as the winning bidder dished out $7,400 — with the money expected to be donated to the Humane Society.

The success of that auction, with 31 different bidders, created a craze of 25 other postings this week offering torn up cards featuring the disgraced NFL superstar.

But so far, the original post from Rochelle Steffen, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., has been the only auction to attract droves of bidders.

Steffen gave Monte, her 6-year-old Weimaraner, and Roxie, her Great Dane puppy, every Vick card she owned to destroy. The result: The cards worth $1-to-$10 were crumpled, crimped, chewed, torn and generally in a sorry state. Some even had corners missing.

"When I started this, I only expected to get $100 for a local shelter," Steffen told The Associated Press on Wednesday. "But it's received so much attention. It's for such a good cause."

The gnawed cards were the most expensive Vick items on eBay, with well-preserved rookie cards, autographed jerseys and other collectibles selling for far less.

Vick pleaded guilty to a federal dogfighting charge this week. He will be sentenced Dec. 10.

Man, I should of though of that!

Good news guys, Adrian Peterson is averaging 4.5 yds rushing this preseason. hopefully it will carry over!
Finsup22
Greg Olsen has me worried. I tell you, this is going to be a long year. I know it was a pre season game, but Chicago's offence, is well....offensive.

I really like that Garrett Wolfe, every time he touches the ball he's making something happen. & He's my size exactly!(see if it wasn't for my slow speed & mediocre talent, I could of made it to the NFL) I have an inch on him, he has about ten pounds on me...LOL He's all muscle, I'm...ex-muscle(flab)...LOL
frogfish
Where is Wolfe on their depth chart now? Is he 2, or is he still behind Peterson?

no, he's still #3. But a little guy like that playing a big guy sport makes me feel happy.

So I guess we can talk college football here too?

Well, my #5 Wolverines lost to Appalachian f'in State today (34-32) and yes, I'm sad...no, wrong word...I'm PISSED. Lloyd Carr is a total IDIOT for going for a 2pt conversion twice in the third quarter and Chad Henne played like crap (was never a fan of his to begin with). You know what though? At the end of the day, it's just a game and it was just A game. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise...maybe the Wolverines have finally seen the errors of their ways, will win out, win the Big Ten Championship (and in the process of doing so beat Ohio State for once), and the Rose Bowl.

...hopefully. Please?

american 'football' don't you mean glorified rugby in drag costumes laugh.gif and americans made the term 'soccer' up as a rival to there american 'football' grin2.gif

Soccer (real name football) players wear nothing more than a top some shorts and a pair of boots, oh and a whole lot of skill.

I feel your pain timbeau...I live 10 minutes away from Ann Arbor.

All I can say is WHAT the hell was Carr thinking. He's a great coach and all, but when you have players like Henne, Manningham, and Hart, you need a REAL playcaller. I'm sick and tired of conservative Carr ball...

And to lose like that, on a blocked FG after a spectacular Manningham catch...

The only person that deserved credit was Hart, who was simply amazing.

The Nat'l Championship hopes are gone, but we still can win the Big Ten...right? ohmy.gif
timbeau
When is Carr going to realize that since you can't stop (and never have been able to stop) the spread offense that Appalachian State ran and Oregon is currently PRACTICING so they can use it next Saturday in Ann Arbor, you can't just stick with the SAME old Michigan offensive philosophy?

I'm tired of Carr being a total tool, but if the Lloyd that isn't conservative is the one that goes for two 2pt conversions in the 3rd quarter.... rolleyes.gif

Ron English better take a hint. The Spread offense, like Lou Holtz said, is the greatest equalizer in football. I saw it wreak havoc when New England played Minnesota last year.

In hindsight, it was a bad move. But at the time, it was the right choice. The problem was we didn't convert...

I already miss Leon Hall...

socca is an english abbreviation of the word association football, yes i agree, it later got turned into the word we all know soccer, the english dropped it and the world stole it as there own (which is the norm) LOL. the greatest game on planet earth is FOOTBALL - NOT 'SOCCER'.
hope this clears it up once and for all.

If we had better corners I wouldn't be missing Leon Hall at all (never was a fan of his, thought he was a tad overrated). The weakness in Michigan's defense last year was obviously the secondary and Hall struggled majorly in the last two games of the season against Ohio State and USC. Morgan Trent? No comment...

Needless to say a win vs. Oregon would be HUGE in healing the spirit of Ann Arbor. I'm not going out of my way to say it WILL happen though. 7-5 at worse, Rose Bowl at best IMO.
~Onyx~
I wish I could have seen the final 4 minutes of that Michigan game, I feel for the Michigan fans but I still beleive that they'll finish up in The Rose Bowl after it's all said and done......now, if it was Notre Dame, I would be ROFLMMFAO.

Well we finally disagree on something... tongue.gif

I say Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. AND

I ♥ linked-image

~Onyx~
Hahahaha, it was bound to happen sooner or later.

Meanwhile, I've got the company "pool" going around this morning and I've got a couple of games I'm uncertain about:

Tennessee at Jacksonville

K.C. at Houston(yeah, it sounds nuts, but K.C. does NOT look good this year)

Arizona at San Fran.

That opening game...New Orleans at Indy....is going to be damn good, but I'm going with Indy.

Finsup22
^ Tennessee
San Fran
Indy (it's at Indy so.....BUT if it was in the superdome, i dont know.)

I'd take Houston put the 1 or 2 on that game. If it's that kinda point pool.

frogfish
I'm gonna say Jacksonville. The Titans WR core has been depleted, and there are ???s at RB.
I think Arizona will pull on top over San Fran...you saw what they were capable of doing last year.
K.C. over Houston. No matter how bad KC looks, they will run all over Houston.

Michigan needs this win against Oregon if we are going to make it to the Rose Bowl.
Finsup22
^ Vince Young is the factor I used, I'm sticking with the Titans.

San Fran is moving up from a celler dweller, this may be the year, Frank Gore is a damn fine player, IMO.

I'm gonna say Jacksonville too! Now that "Sandwich" is OUT (Amen and Hallelujah!) and Garrard is in, I think we just may have a decent chance this year. But, alas, we'll see. They love to start out gung ho and then just fizzle out and disappoint us!
Col. Kurtz
Your all fooling yourselves,,, with the addition of Randy Moss,,the Pats are obviously the most superior dominate team ever,,,call off the season and just give them another ring.. Pats rule. =P
timbeau
I'm a Ravens fan first, Lions fan second...don't sleep on the Detroit Lions! tongue.gif
~Onyx~
I think I'ma go wit Jacksonville(that "D" is just too damn tough), and San Fran(I don't think 'Zona will have an answer for Gore).....as for K.C. and Houston, I think a little more research needs to be done.

It's a "pick 'em" pool, straight up winners and losers, and I play 2 "sheets"($10.00 per sheet), whomever has the most wins takes the pool(I won four times last year), whichever game I'm not sure of I "flip-flop" on the other sheet. I have 2 flip-flops this week, Mia at Washington(I know, I know) and The Saints at Indy(when you have to great offenses, anything can happen).

Donovan McNabb in '98. Vince Young in '05. Troy Smith in '04, '05, and '06. Now Armanti Edwards?!?! Get a clue.

~Onyx~
I pretty much feel the same way you do about The Saints at Indy, Jody, I just think of all the defensive personel Indy lost....but I also take into account playing in front of the home crowd.....and I alomst call this a "pick 'em" game, IMO.

Just FYI, my wife is a HUGE 'Skins fan. Life in the Onyx household is about to get a little more interesting this Sunday, if that's even possible, LOL.

Is Portis even healthy? I know Betts came in and did a great job for The 'Skins, but if I'm a defensive coordinator looking at The 'Skins offense, I only see 2 maybe 3 guys that make me nervous: Santana Moss(can take it to the house on any play), Antwaan Randle El(as versitile a player as you can find in the N.F.L.) and Portis...if he's healthy....Chris Cooley is a good player and deserves respect, but he's not a guy you "game plan" for, and Betts is another guy who deserves great respect, especially considering what a great job he did with the opportunity he was given last year, but he's also not a guy you put eight in the box to stop, IMO. That being said, they are at home, and they have the advantage, which is why I flip-flopped on that pick.

Miami is solid defensively, and is going to struggle on offense all year long, so in turn, the defense will wear-down as the season goes on...they'll be on the field ALOT...and when the offense finally does begin to click, it'll be in juuuuuust enough time to not matter, cause the defense will be worn-out and not able to stop much, LOL.

Redskin woes: Portis' troubled health
Posted: Thursday August 02, 2007 07:38AM ET
When training camp began Friday, tailback Clinton Portis was glowing. His surgically repaired shoulder and hand were pain-free, and Portis believed an offseason bout of right knee tendinitis was finally behind him. "I feel great. I'm excited. I feel healthy," Portis said, eager to leave his lost 2006 season behind. But less than a week later, questions about his health have surfaced. Portis, 25, missed a second straight day of practice yesterday and will continue to strengthen and have treatment on his swollen knee, likely remaining on the sideline until at least next week. Portis, whose tendinitis was diagnosed in May, was limited to eight games last season. He suffered a partial dislocation of his shoulder on the opening series of the preseason and later broke his hand. He never resembled the runner who set a franchise record with 1,516 yards in 2005.

LOL... such the optimist you are.

I have a feeling Da Bears are in the same boat this year, we'll see.

This is how I'm going to pick games this year; Example-tonight Saints at Colts. Who has the better looking cheerleaders will determin the winner. Talent, the will to win, and preperation be damed I say! I'm going with the Saints, far better cheerleaders.

Hard to argue with that kinda logic, LOL. If that was the criteria, The Raiders and The Cowboys would alternate winning the whole damn thing every year.

Virginia McCaskey got rid of the Honey Bears about 20yrs ago. Once she dies, they'll come back!

I'm not a big fan of Dallas or thier cheer leaders. That was so '70's IMO. grin2.gif

I look for the RB's to have big games tonight, and I mean Addai and McAllister, I think Bush will have his moments, but I look for The Saints to try and control the clock and move the chains by pounding McAllister and, subsequently, keeping Manning and Co. off the field(that's what I would do, anyway)....can't score if your sitting on the sideline watching....that being said, I still think this game will come down to whichever offense has the ball LAST, LOL.
