well Sunday should be fun. If Im not on this website by 10/10/07, someboday call the police, I might be swinging from the neck in my closet. laugh.gif Not realy, I am going to watch that game the way my 9yr old watches scary movies, both hands covering my eyes only to peak out when it gets quiet. rolleyes.gif

I know The Texans are a much improved team, but if The Fins lose to them(and if you check, you'll see that they have a losing record against them in Houstons brief existence rolleyes.gif ) and go 0-5, then it will be time to seriously look toward the future and throw "the kids" out there and see what they can do.

Can you believe that...during the Shula Era...The Fins only had one losing season....ONE!!!...that's why Shula's record of wins as a head coach(326) will never be broken in our lifetimes. Man, that seems so long ago... crying.gif

Well they used to win game back in the late 90's, plus being a Browns, Cardinal, Saints or Bengals fan is worse and most likely unfathomable to the rest of us.

CLE @ NE lol maybe the browns can pull an upset
SEA @ PIT Ben looks vulnerable out there with out his favorite receiver but i think he can manage the game good enough for a win
CAR @ NO
DET @ WAS Lions ten wins
NYJ @ NYG sad.gif why!
MIA @ HOU
ATL @ TEN
JAC @ KC
ARI @ STL
TB @ IND
SD @ DEN
BAL @ SF

I watched the Chargers game, and got excited. I threw some of that mojo towards a certaain team and..... original.gif

I was keeping up with the Miami game via the scores, man...., I thought of you Onyx. I felt bad, but then again I'm a Fins fan.
~Onyx~
Thanks Fins, but it looks like...especially after the injury to Green...it's time to look toward the future and see what the kids can do. Ted Ginn had his moments, Ronnie Brown is leading the NFL in all-purpose yards, and the O-Line looks like is coming together......but the defense is getting pushed around in ways I haven't seen in about 15+ years.

lol its a fake I love it when teams fake punts, field goals and spikes

edit

even though i picked against them and went with my giants mortal enemies, typical Bills losing a game they were winning and not just lose, lose in spectacular fashion as they always do. They came in playing like it was for the superbowl. Then they go and lose and on Monday Night at home, it has to be the most embarrassing feeling in the world of sports to lose at home on Monday Night!

Anyway that has to be the best game I saw this season and Monday Night in general.

Considering how The Texans broke an 88 year-old record against my Fins by kicking 3 field goals over 54 yards...and the last of 57 yards to win...I don't seem to be able to muster any sympathy for The Bills, go figure.

In an odd sorta way, I was expecting it, especially after seeing your starting QB get knocked out while trying to throw a block on a 315lbs. defensive tackle, the only thing missing was a group of midgets dressed in Dan Marino jerseys to come out and carry Trent Green off the field on their little backs.

Whats your take on Trent even playing again. This happened to him last year too, or was it two years ago?

Did Lemon look like he could play? I didn't see the game, I have to watch inside the NFL tomarrow.

Rightfully so if your a Fins fan but the Bills are still haunted by four straight super bowl losses. But the way they loss as many people pointed it out there is no excuse for offside kicks actually working in the NFL!

what do you guys think of calling time outs right before a ball is snapped to kick a field goal?

I think its fair game but I just want to laugh one day when a coach does this and the kicker misses to only have another chance to do it again and make it.

Hahahaha, yeah that's bound to happen sooner or later. I agree it's fair game, I just think it's kinda juvenile to me, like sneaking up behind someone and yelling GOTCHA while they're shooting a golf shot, or something.

I also agree w/ the offsides opinion, you shouldn't be rewarded for comiting a penalty, IMO.

If I were Randy Mueller and Cam Cameron I wouldn't let Trent Green back on the field this year for two reasons: 1. He's now suffered two grade 3(the worst type) concussions in two years and it's now not just his football career that's is immediate jepordy, it's his quality of life after football. They aren't winning a damn thig this year and they're rebuilding, might as well see what the younger players can do in real game situations. 2. If he playes at least 75% of the snaps for The Fins this year, they would owe The Chiefs a 4th round pick instead of a 5th round pick, which is selfish, I know, but when dealing with the business aspect of The NFL, these are the types of decisions that have to be made as a GM.

Lemon is a young QB that Marty Schottenheimer thought alot of when he was in San Diego and Marty was the head coach, word has it that he was VERY upset that A.J. Smith traded him to The Fins for A.J. Feeley and 6th round pick. He played in the last game of the year last year against The Colts and held his own pretty well, he's fairly athletic, and has an NFL arm, but...like in most cases with young QB's...the question is can he lead a team and make good decisions with football? We shall see.

I would hope so to, but I don't think he will, I think he's gonna use the "I made a commitment to this team...blah, blah, blah.." to justify his coming back next year(hopefully). I just think that this team is SO far away from contending right now, there's no real reason to put him back in harms way this year. Let's find out if Cleo is a viable back-up at the very least, let's spot John Beck in there from time to time to let him experience what real-time game speed is like so he won't be overwhelmed when he's asked to do more next year, and....no matter how much it pains me to say it....if I were Randy Mueller, I would seriously consider putting feelers out there for what players like Zach and Jason(on defense) and Chambers and Booker(on offense) are worth before the trading deadline comes up, what do you have to lose?
Finsup22

Thats a smart play, I never thought of that. I'd do that too. But as for Jason, I'd want the moon and all the green cheese that comes with it.

why is it that the bills always lose a game in the last minutes? I'm glad losman is still out though. but damn, I wish they beat those cowboys, I hate em.

I'm just waiting to see what will happen to the Cowboys next weekend against New England. If Romo plays like he did last night, a heroic 53 yard field goal might be the only points they put up. We'll find out how good Dallas really is, I'm thinking they're a little overrated.

But Im tired of New England too.
Super Pancake
I think collectively people would want the Cowboys to lose then the Church of Satan Tom Brady and the Pat. Anyway lose lose situation for me, Cowboys win that one more tight hold on lead for a division win over my Giants, Pats win a one more win for a division win over my Jets or Bills.

But since the Jets and Bills have low chance of even making the playoffs I hope the Cowboys lose this one.
~Onyx~
Sorry, but I'm not betting against The Patriots until they lose. Does anybody realize how similar those two teams are(The Cowboys and The Patriots)? The only real difference though is a significant one, the QB's.
frogfish
Both are cary good...5 INTs and they still win the game! It was Buffalo though...
Bear's Quest
The patriots are over rated. They have only played against soft teams including the Chargers. Chargers are not the same team as last years and people think the Pats are invinsible cause they whipped them.

The Chargers are talented but misguided and don't let them fool you cause they whipped up on denver. Denver is a soft team this year and thier QB needs to grow in leadership, which experience and a driven attitude can improve upon.
joc
I watched the second half of the Cowboy Bills game...up until the point where The Bills are inside the twenty and throw and the Cowboys intercept, fumble and recover...now inside the twenty as Romo goes back to pass the announcer says, "Romo has been intercepted 4 times so far in this game...........

.........make that 5!" PRICELESS!! I laughed, turned off the TV and went to bed still laughing. Wake up in the morning to hear the Boys pulled it off somehow.

I'm still laughing about that....make that 5! What a hoot! w00t.gif

The difference between the Pats and Cowboys is the fact that year in and year out New England is always in the playoffs pushing for the Superbowl. Dallas hasn't really shown anything in years, except that they have a young quarter back beating up on teams that he should. Romo had better go around and personally thank every member of that defense for saving his butt in the second half Monday night. If they can knock off "The Brady Bunch", then I'll give them some props.

I wouldn't put the blame on San Diego just being misguided, if they want to turn their season around they also have to start playing with some heart. I will agree with you that Norv Turner isn't going to lead them anywhere except losing the wildcard race. I don't know, if I had Ladanian Tomlinson lining up in my backfield, I would of course choose to have Rivers force the ball into coverage and run him 6 times in the second half against Kansas City. God, he's an awful coach.

Any team that puts up the kinda numbers that The Patroits have so far this year(have you seen Brady's QB rating??!!)...no matter how bad the competition may be...is anything but overrated. I thought it would take a little while for Brady to get acclimated and comfortable with his new receivers, and if The Pats were gonna be vulnerable at any time this year, it would be early, no such problem.

I'm a fan of Wade Philips and when he left the Chargers, I knew the momentum would halt and it did so in San Diego. What ever problems Dallas had last year has now been wrinkled out with Wade there. They will be contenders there for a while.

LOL, Yes the Pats are a very good team and are the best at being contentious in every game. However San Diego, Cincinnati, Buffalo have horrible "Pass- Defense" and until I see them play against one, I will wait to call them the best over Indianapolis and Dallas.

Denver has broken my heart. So far anyway.
The only thing that could cheer me up is a NE loss. And I don't think that's very likely.

I gotta agree with you there. Although, I really don't think any of the top three dogs in the NFL have yet to face a serious threat yet. The Pats and Cowboys this weekend will show one of the true dominant teams so far. As far as the best goes, Indianapolis has to be the number one because they are undefeated and are defending champs. It's gonna be tough to knock them off, unless the "injury bug" keeps biting. When they get healthy, it's bad news for the AFC teams having to travel through the RCA Dome looking for wins to get into the post season. The huge test for Indy is when they have to strap up against New England later in the season, I forget which week.

Agreed, I really don't think you can get a proper assessment of the true strength...or weakness...of a so-called elite team in the NFL until they play another elite...or at least competitive...team. The problem with assessing Dallas or New England is that only Dallas has beaten a team that currently has a winning record(The NY Giants).
