OTs like Bryant McKinnie, Joe Thomas, and Jake Long are just athletic BEASTS. I cannot imagine a guy who weighs 340 run 40 yds in under 5 seconds AND bench pressing 225 close to 40 reps.
That's a great point, Frogfish. I defy any Rubgy fan to tell me one of those guys wouldn't make a world-class prop or second line, considering they average in height: 6' 6" weight: 325-330lbs. and are all very athletic as well as EXTREMELY powerful.

I personally think they'll release him. No GM is gonna invest a draft pick(unless your talking about a 6th or 7th round throw-away pick) in a guy that may or may not be around for more than a year? So they're(The Packers) bargaining leverage is crap. And as far as I can see, The Vikings are the only team that may be only a QB away from a conference championship, and they have STEADFASTLY stated that Tavaris Jackson is their guy.
If The Packers release Favre, it dosen't make them look so bad in the eyes of the national media(even though nothing will save Ted Thompson and Co. from looking like digbats to they're fan base at this point, IMO), considering the barrell Favre has them over at this point. You "give in to his demands" and release him. Then you paint it like "we had no choice, there was no one willing to give up a pick in a trade worthy of Favre's talents, and we respect and honor what Bett has sacrificed and given to this organization over the course of his great career to grant him HIS REQUEST". Just make sure you emphasize that it was HIS REQUEST, and infer that if it wasn't for his insecent waffling, he'd still be your starting QB, without a doubt.
It's the only way this could end amicably, at this point, IMO.

thats a sound plan, I know on some of the Wisconsin morning radio programs, all the cheeseheads are saying STFU to Farve, I think they are fedup too. I think when he retired for the second time all the Packer backers mourned for a little bit and then moved on mentaly and emotionaly. Bret's the only one who cant let go.

Well, you can close the book on Jason Taylor, which makes me a bit sad. I understand where he's coming from, his wants, and I understand this is the business aspect of the game. He's 33 years old and has given it all he's got every year. Thanks for the memories, Jason, and if possible, I would love to see The Redskins win the title next year, if not for my wife(HUGE Skins fan), then for Taylor.
After analyzing this trade, I guess you couldn't ask for more from The Skins...or any other team...than what The Fins got. A 2nd rounder in 2009 and a 6th in 2010. Too bad they(The Fins) couldn't have gotten a pick in this years draft that could have helped them sooner, but I don't expect them to be better than 6-10 next year anyway. Maybe that additional 2nd rounder will help them leverage a trade up in next years draft, who knows?

>_> if soccer is for wusses, then american football must be for pansies. Rugby, virtually the same game, the players wear no armor. Why is it the american footballers do? o_o;
Because the American Football have hugh players. Soccer are nothing but skiny guys running around. They are roughly the same weight and size. The American Footballers are different in size. Ask any Soccer players if they want to go up against Strahan or Ray Lewis just to name a few? I am certain they would not. They would get killed. Silly question mate!

I doubt it. The next 48 hours should give a better idea about what's about to happen. The more I look at the Jason Taylor to Washington thing, the more it dosen't add up. I just don't see Washington doing a lot in that division. I have them as the 3rd best team AT BEST, and unless they win 10 games or more, I don't see them getting a wild card birth.

I think some wayward cheesehead would run into Vikings Headquarters with a cheese-bomb strapped to him/herself and detonate before that became reality, LOL.
I think it'll be Tampa Bay, or nowhere. I think, at this point, all that's being haggled over is the draft pick or player compensation. I mean, really, what do you think Brett Favre's value is at this point in his career?

The fact that Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy are afraid of hurting Aaron Rodgers feelings, to me, is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. I don't care WHEN Brett Favre called me(as long as it was before the start of the season), if I were the GM or head coach, I would take him back in a HEARTBEAT and hand him the starting job no questions asked. Rodgers would just have to understand, and if he diddn't, who the hell is Aaron Rodgers, and what has he done? In short, nobody and nothing.

I was listening to a radio station out of Milwaukee this morning, The topic was about Favre. I'm gonna say abot 90% of the guys and gals that called in were sick of him, he's been saying he doesn't want to play for the last TWO seasons. Remeber 2 yrs ago when he played the last regular season game at Soldiers Field and cried on the field telling everybody he's hanging it up, then has a press confrance to say he's still pretty sure he's not coming back, then has a press confrance to say, he's thinking he might come back, then show up to training camp. Then actualy does retire the next year, and now he's pulling this B.S. he's got dem Cheese Heads pretty P.O.'d at this point. EVERYBODY I heard and talk too thats a Packer fan around here are like Eff him. any who, thats the climate I'm seeing about this situation. I'm going to the Cubs game today/tonight at Miller Park, I'll be asking Packer fans what they think.
