man that is bad. poor guy. donovan that is. i

i was hoping that the ravens would have made a better drive in the end and make the game a little more interesting. oh well. was kinda boring though. next weeks monday night is gonna be real good

i know this is off the subject but is there a thread here for the NBA. let me know
snuffypuffer
Well, the Chargers are playing a lot better than they were to start the season, plus they went into New England and whipped the Pats. I think they're going to go ahead and win out and take the AFC West.

As for my Steelers, well, they won, that's all that matters. original.gif
frogfish
Donovan? he only has a sports hernia...did u mean Daunte? because he might miss the beginning of next season...
Super Pancake
oops yes I mean Daunte! This morning on cold pizza doctor predicted the worse case scenario that this could be a career ending injury.

As for the chargers looking at their schedule the only meaningful win I thought they had was against the giants and dallas, and dallas was a close game. After that the pats I am not making excuses for their lose but that team was facing many injuries. And the chiefs well they are ahead of the chargers but i think they are just lucky! Denver is a good team I don't see them winning the division but I do see a wild card spot because the rest of the season looks good but very close.

Next monday night should be one of the best game of the season payton got a chip on his back. 0-6 against the Pats if they lose in my mind they will never beat the Pats to go on to the superbowl!
codenamecloud
i think Peyton can do it. it has yet to do it but i think it is his time. but the patriots have some newly inspired motivation with the return of Tedy Bruschi. i think it will be a very good game
snuffypuffer
Pancake, the Chargers lost to the Cowboys, it was close, though. They took it to the Giants, though, who are a much better team than Dallas. I'm telling you, the Chargers are an honest to god contender. yes.gif

I don't think the Pats are going to be able to slip past the Colts this time. I bet they had this game marked on their schedule since the end of last season.
frogfish
Ahhh, Bruschi vs Manning....a classic original.gif
Super Pancake
Not much going for week nine except for monday night.

The eagles and redskins game should be interesting after all the T.O. trash talking all week. And I'll see the giants win an easy one in san fran, and watch the jets lose against san diago but I really am hoping for an upset.
codenamecloud
upsets are good as long as the niners do not beat the giants. for some reason i do not see that happening
RedRaider9981
Yeah, the Cowboys aren't doing quite as good as I hoped this year, but still pretty good nonetheless.
Super Pancake
Ya heard T.O. suspended for the rest of the season! T.O. is an ass but he is the best reciever on that team right now, they going to miss him real bad.
frogfish
No, he is not suspended for the rest of the season...a team suspension can only have a maximum of 4 weeks (4 games)...we do not know the length of it yet....he deserves to be "roughened up" a little, and Robert Smith said original.gif

Hey, the Golden Gophers beat Indiana!
Super Pancake
Well then maybe they might pull a fast one on the redskins and not suspend him at all. Mcnabb said if T.O. don't play he will get more blitzes.
codenamecloud
i think that TO will probably just get sent home for the rest of the season. He will still get paid but he will just not play. i really do not think that he is to happy with the team right now. i heard he is selling his house so he is probably ready to move on
Super Pancake
This reminds me of the keyshaun johnson incident when he played for tampa bay.

T.O. is dumb since he got traded from the 49ner's his stats in recieving, yards, and touchdowns doubled and he got to go to the superbowl, now with his behavior only a desperate team would but up the money and the ego to have him on thier roster.

Anyway great game by the jets/chargers i almost got my upset but a uncalled passing interference in the endzone and a turnover on downs the Jets lost. The season is done for the jets but maybe bollinger is thier qb he played very good.

edit: ugly win by the giants today!
frogfish
The Vikes WON!!!!
Super Pancake
Who do you guys think is the underdog and have the most pressure to win on monday night?

Even though manning have finally used the best way to win games, using the running game, taking up the clock, keeping the defence off the field etc. I think it bugs him that he is 0-7 in new england, so i say the indy is the underdog.

But the pressure is on new england the got to win thier next games if they want to win thier division for a playoff spot.
NME_locus
It's on tonite....COLTS vs PATRIOTS.......GO COLTS!!!!!!!.... my heart goes out to my hometown of Evansville Indiana regarding the devastating tornadoes killing more than 20 people.

The Colt's are the underdogs coming into this game but with a outstanding record so far, it will take some weight off their shoulders, and playing with confidence in tonight's team. Colt's are already 3 games up on Patriots so I believe there is more pressure on the PATs. I believe the win matters more to the Patriots...even a loss to the Colts still gives them the best record.
frogfish
No, the Pats are the underdogs...Colts line by -3
codenamecloud
the giants may have won ugly but they did win. and the vikes may have had the win this week but just wait until next week. they are gonna lose to the giants. i know it. but i am watching MNF now and so far it is a good game. only second quarter but i still think that the colts have this one
Super Pancake
well payton got over the hump as it was put yesterday, the pats were just no match later in the second quarter to the end of the second half, kind of got sad looking at the Pats get beat up so easily.

I wonder if this years Colts team could of beat the dominate Pats team that beat them last year I guess we will never know!
codenamecloud
i think that now that payton has beat the pats he has some new confidence that he can go all the way. i to would have hopes that the pats would have put up a better fight though. well go colts
frogfish
Hopefully peyton will play them when they have Poole, Harrison, and Seymour back...that will be a challenge
codenamecloud
what are your predictions for this coming week people
frogfish
Dallas over Philly...T.O. is K.O.ed and Philly is in a wreck
Denver over Oakland...They are on a roll...and Moss is aching
Washington over Tampa....Washington will pick it up this game, plus
plus their momentum from the MNF win
St.Louis over Seattle...Holt and Bruce are back
Kansas City over Bills...Holmes will be missed, but they have L. Johnson
and finally original.gif
Vikes over Giants....Its gonna be an upset...Both teams have momentum...This will be good..PLUS, Im a VIKES FAN original.gif

Bengals over Colts after the bye week!

Last team to come into Cincinnati at 9 and 0 was the Kansas City Chiefs. Guess what their record was when they left.
frogfish
Uh no...the CHARGERS gave KC their first lost, 31-10

Colts will tear through the Bengals...better Offense, Better Defense...

With Brad Johnson, look for the Vikings to do good over the next few weeks...the Giants game today will be good.

No, no, I said the last team to enter Cincinnati at 9 and 0. It was a couple years back, when the Chiefs were on their winning streak.

Anyways, the Colts already won their "superbowl" against the Patriots. After that, they are going to coast through the Texans, just because they suck. And then the wake up call comes in the Jungle. Not many know about it yet, but Paul Brown Stadium is going to be rocking that day, and the Bengals are going to shock the nation of football once again.
Super Pancake
WTF WTF WTF was that!

How the Giants D not allow an offensive touchdown in three games in a row. The kept the vikes under 150 yards of offence blocked a field goal a few sacks and one forced fumble. And they still lost the game! WTF.

I'm not watching anymore games today mad.gif

YES, IT WAS THE CHARGERS THAT GAVE THEM THEIR FIRST LOST

Hey, SuperPancake, Didn't I call that? original.gif
Weel, you cant beat an INT TD, a Punt TD, a Kickoff TD, and a great defensive preformance (other than Tiki)

I believe so. The Colts didn't necessarily get beat up by the Pats last year, but the Colts defense has changed so much. Rembered, Pats didn't beat up the Colts even with their sorry defense. The lost to the Pats last season over one yard, in two seperate games. Colts defense this year would have stopped last year's Pat's offense.

It's funny that there has been some sh** talking about my COLTS direct towards me saying that the COLT are not going all the way, which I have been saying before the season started.

To the punks whom have been talking their fat lips, give the jibber jabber lip smack. * SMACK* ..........F.Y.I-that was not intended for everyone just some people..

QUOTE(RaginCajun @ Oct 19 2005, 07:00 PM)

yes, the texans can beat the colts for your information. any team can beat any team at any time and at any place on any given sunday or monday. the colts look good just as i predicted. i really like the broncos too this year. i feel that the broncos have a better chance at winning the superbowl than the colts. there are so many weak teams this year.

QUOTE(NME_locus @ Oct 19 2005, 08:52 PM)

Hi Ragin',

No, the Texans can't...trust me..you don't know the whole story on that, especially since I live I live in Houstonshake ur darier..and you said you predicted the Colts look good? Kind of strange to have to predict that...since it's obvious they are good, as any can see. i predicted that and posted it in this thread before the season started.
The Bronco's eh?...the ones that lost the the Colts already this season, 8/27 @ Denver Broncos 24 - 37 ...Colts won.
blink.gif

Colts are better than the Broncos...

Y'all have to give credit to the Vikes for great defensive and sprcial teams play to give them the W over the hot Giants....

You know the Pats held the colts to 3 points in the playoffs last year the height of the Pats greatness.

And about the guy who said the texans could beat the Colts all he meant was in the NFL nothing is guranteed example I bet nobody would of thought the NFC north teams would have won their games last sunday laugh.gif Packers beat the falcons shocker, vikes beat the giants another shocker.

Another good example would be when Miami beat the Pats last year.

Anyway the colts/Bengals game should be good! Now the question we must ponder for the rest of the season who will the Colts face in the superbowl. I say Falcons or Panthers!
frogfish
it will be Panthers...Steve Smith is unstoppable...

I knew the Vike/Giants game would be good...For some reasons, Vikes always pull of a Upset over a great team once or twice a year....

Like last year, the Pack in the Wild Card
2 Years ago, they Killed Kansas City 51-10...the Year Kansas went 9-0
Duke Of Poop
What a break out week Ricky Williams had, like a yard per carry. But I believe he will only get better after a few more games, if they can keep him and ronnie for next season and update the qb and other lineman, I believe they can make a run for the super bowl. I would like to see that,
Super Pancake
The madden curse strikes again Mcnabb is having a terrible season and he is sidelined next sunday against the Giants!

do any of you guys think T.O. will be released, what team might pick him up this season. It would be cool if he came to New York, then eli would have two good wide recievers to work with. That would be automatic superbowl contender in my opinion.
frogfish
Ha, I heard that...Ray Lewis didn't get injured last year though.....

The EAGLES WILL, I REPEAT, WILL DROP T.O....If he gets reinstated, they will drop him this year, but if not, they'll drop him after the season...

The Giants won't pick him up....too risky....
The only team I know who wouls probably pick him up is either Oakland or Denver, But since the Raiders have Moss, it'll probably be Denver...Mike Shanahan is known for taking risks, as he did with Maurice Clarett (3rd round) and others...They need a deep threat, as Rod Smith is getting old...

Plus, NFL Total Access (NFL Network) said the same thing too...
Super Pancake

Ha, I heard that...Ray Lewis didn't get injured last year though.....

Its not only injuries but stats too Ray lewis and Eddie George both had bad seasons when they appeared on the cover, Eddie George never returned to his mvp status, also Ray.

t.o. in new york is slim but i can dream, he would do pretty good in denver but he will have to get used to them being a run heavy team.
frogfish
Ray still had 142 tackles last year...

Yes...I can dream he will go to Minnesota original.gif
But it won't happen....

Denver WILL use him if they get him though...
Triniant
QUOTE(frogfish @ Nov 17 2005, 12:13 AM)

Denver WILL use him if they get him though...

I do believe that if anyone is going to win the TO lottery it will be Denver, and yes he'll be used, but they are a run first team....and will continue to be one, TO or not.

frogfish
I would not want TO on my team.....Randy Moss just had mishaps at refs...and the mishaps at the end of the '04 season original.gif

Haven't you noticed that whenever Moss went up for a fade, it was Offensive Pass Interference? They wouldn't call it on Marvin Harrison or any other WR.....They were against Moss...I remeber a commentator (Madden?) saying it was unfair to give the CBs that "boost" or "help"...
Super Pancake
I was just thinking maybe t.o. would not want to be in an afc team because it looks like the colts is going all the way. While in the NFC the Panthers and Falcons are favored but, its still up in the air!

So he might go to a NFC team just to have a better chance at going to the superbowl. Imagine if the Panthers get him, it would be over T.O. and Steve Smith on the same team it would be christmas for Delhomme.
frogfish
QUOTE

More like Hell....
Its TO you are talking about...the one who has criticized 2 QBS in a row..
Panthers wont get Him....

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!
Vikings @ Packers

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?????
*music*

Super Pancake
And was T.O. wrong about the 2 QB's?

Garcia sucks, he actually was in decline as a pro qb as T.o. said. T.O. was right Mcnabb did look tired in the superbowl, for the whole fourth quarter I was screaming at my t.v. how come their not hurring up to get a play going, the eagles were 1-2 plays away in taking the lead. And obviously the injury to mcnabb (madden curse) and the dumb plays he made are detrimental to the team, the last three losses were on Mcnabb!

Speaking of monday night music. what the hell is up with that corny country music during half time? Tim Mcgraw suck! Anyway I just use the bathroom during halftime, but still the half time show is whack.
frogfish
That "I Like It, I Love It" song?
I hate it!

Still, Delhomme would have nightmares with TO on his team...he would get into fights with S. Smith too...for the ball
Super Pancake
I don't think so since both are players that are respected with double teams, one of them will be wide open or open enough each passing play. Both should get their fill, and Smith not being a showetime player like T.O. should not have a problem.

T.O. on average get the ball around 4-7 some times more in a break out game so does Smith. How much more can T.O. want, he played fine as the number 2 when he played with Rice!

I know I could be wrong T.O. could be worse of a person, but I honestly think T.O. was right on with most of his comments, and the sports media is blowing it out of porportion. Their are players who done worst things, all T.O. done is speak his mind and he is being suspended and deactivated.
frogfish

Yes, and the best thing is, he makes them up on the spot...like one he was fencing using the football..

Another one vs the Vikings, he sat on the ground and started paddling...then he paused, looked back, and started paddling again frantically
