Damn, my heart stopped way too many times during that game...Oh well, I feel happy for Jerome.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Da Bear....they had that coming to them! Their defense is overrated...just look at their schedule. They are a 1 year wonder.

all i have to say is that id rather watch english soccer than american "football" anyday... go arsenal!

but since were talking about football, some guy did a ps2 simulation on madden and said that the steelers are going to beat the colts!?!? no way

The Steelers did beat the Colts, man. Keep up! tongue.gif
frogfish
Awwwww, you beat me to it!
NME_locus
whew.... it's mid-week and I'm still dragging around work getting eaten alive by Steelers fans here. They even went in my office and took my COLTS flag and hid it. I walked around the job site and theres a few steelers flags. They are trying to be funny by mocking me.

That was an awesome game. I was satisfied plenty when Jerome was in shock from his fumble which almost lead to a comeback. That just showed him the potential of what Mannong can do in a few minutes. The game changed as soon as Manning sent the punting team back off the field.

Super Pancake : GIANTS vs COLTS next season... and shall I say all in good fun..." it's on that game" ......Manning vs Manning.

mellow.gif uh... thanks for your thoughts. The sport you refer to as soccer where people run around doing nothing but kicking around a sphere into the opponent's goal have there own thread.

Do you understand the fundamentals of football and strategies?

Arsenal? who are they? blink.gif

My Picks for the weekend.

Steelers at Broncos-
They both are similar teams, both pund the ball away with the rushing attack and play solid defense. Shanahan has his best team since their Superbowl year, WHICH they would of lost if Gary Anderson didn't miss the game-winning FG for the Vikings in the NFC Championship. Bill Cowher has potentially one of the best defenses in the league. With the Steelers playing better D, they will win.
17-7 Steelers.

Panthers at Seahawks-
With Alexander still having a headache, you won't see 30 touches from him. Rely on seeing the Seahawks going aerial with Hasselbeck. The Panther's Delhomme is red hot during the playoffs, with a 10-2 TD-INT record, and the highest passer rating oif any QB in the history of the NFL with more than 150 pass attempts in the playoffs. (103.2) Add in the stellar Steve Smith, who just torched Da Bears, (They got that coming! Go VIKES) and a red hot secondary...Panther's run away with this game.
30-17 Panther
snuffypuffer
I like your picks, Frogfish. yes.gif I don't know that the NFC title game won't be a lot closer, though. The Panthers' running game is really beaten up, with Stephen Davis out and DeShaun Foster breaking his leg in the Chicago game. Means Nick Goings will have to be productive for an entire game. I do still think they will overcome the Seahawks, though.

Could this be the year for my beloved Steelers?

He was great last year...almost 1000 in 10 games

QUOTE

Yes, I believe so.
snuffypuffer
yeah, Goings has been good in the games he's been in. yes.gif

Sooo, does anybody really care who wins the Pro Bowl? I never even bother to watch it.
Super Pancake
Its hard to pick I'm like on the fence on these games. I still think the Seahawks are not that good of a team but their perfect at home and the Panthers are on their fourth road game thats got to be tough on them.

The Steelers and Broncos game couldn't be even closer they both play the same type of football. i'll just sleep on it and come back on sunday and make my picks.

I hate the Pro Bowl. Half the people on it don't deserve to be their! Since when does DeAngelo Hall go over Antoine Winfield? Or Vasher for that point! All he had was 45 tackles!!!!!!! The offensive line is also way overrated...they are all soon to be Hall of Famers! Even if they did horribly.

The bad thing is, if you go to enough Pro Bowls, you're bound to be a Hall of Famer...Plus, half the Colts team that are going don't deserve to be there either...IT'S JUST A BIG POPULARITY CONTEST.
BubbaScott
I know its hard to imagine, BUT, Im a huge Texans fan. Yes I knew we blew big chunks this year, but got to stick with my boys. We have the opportunity to grab either Reggi Bush or Vince Young. Im just curious as to whom we should take? If people would open their eyes, we need a good strong safety. We have a decent qb in Carr, but the O-line just isn't getting it done. Are there any decent safety's coming out this year?
frogfish
Darnell Bing (USC) and Michael Hoff (Texas+ NCAA Defensive Player of the Year) are the two best. TExans should just worry about their O-line...Get some from USC or Minnesota.

Hey, I'm a Minnesota Fan, I've been through more pain than every other team...except for the Bills ('91-'94)

RamboIII
STEELERS ALL THE WAY!
frogfish
I can name at least 3 Vikings that should DESERVE to go to Hawaii, but nooooooooooo, they had to pick more popular players that had LESS IMPRESSIVE stats....
Super Pancake
Aren't the pro bowlers picked by coaches and players, and frogfish you know stats don't make you a great player.

Its game day I'm still on the fence but if i have to bet my money in a desperate attempt to make quick cash I'm going with the home teams. Panthers are road warriors but at Seatle in that dome with that crowd its going to be tough. And I'm going to reference the history books no sixth seed (steelers) has ever went to the superbowl.
frogfish
QUOTE

No, they're selected by fans....

QUOTE

The Pro Bowl is meant for the players with the most impressive season, not the players with most reps, like Freeney, R. Lewis, etc.
Super Pancake
What the hells up with the Broncos thats the team that beat the Pats sleepy.gif I hope the superbowl aint like this game.
frogfish
Steelers won!!!!!!!! What a preformance by Ben!
Super Pancake
lols Smithless in Seattle.
frogfish
*Sigh* I wasn't expecting the game to turn out like that....there goes Delhomme's postseason QB Rating...I really liked Smith too.... Carolina will be back next year.

Now I'm looking forward to the Steelers clobbering Seattle...The Bus can finally retire yes.gif
BubbaScott
Seehawks v Steelers and Steelers are gonna win, Im sad to say
frogfish
Steelers, better D and better Offense
snuffypuffer
grin2.gif STEELERS!!!

the Bus gets to go out in style. Snuffs is jazzed! yes.gif
frogfish
you should be very jazzed...the Bus goes out with some hardware too...that says SuperBowl champion.
Sweetpumper
This should be a great game.
snuffypuffer
Sooo, let's have us a little discussion here, shall we? What, in y'all's opinions, is the biggest fluke Superbowl team ever? You know, the one year wonders? For me, I think it would be the 1998 Atlanta Falcons. They came from nowhere, got blown out by the Broncos, and didn't even have a winning season the next year. Totally unexpected.

Your picks?
frogfish
1998 Falcons...They deserved to lose to y Vikes....Gary Anderson missed the winning FG...his first miss in 2 years! That Minnesota Offense was the greatest ever in he NFL...we would of blown away the Broncos...

The Only thing the Flacons had was Jamal Anderson...
Super Pancake
I don't remember 1998 season sad.gif

^ more disappointement for you frogfish

2001 Giants damn that nfc championship game just had to be their day and it just had to be the day the Vikes decided not to show up to play football. Then they went to the superbowl to be beaten by the Ravens defence in what had to be the most boring Superbowl I ever saw
snuffypuffer
Yeah, the Vikings in the late 90's made sort of a tradition of being nearly unbeatable in the regular season and choking in the playoffs.

Sorry Frogfish.

Hey, that soounds like the COLTs too. crying.gif
frogfish
Ahhhhhh, the pain crying.gif Those games still haunt me...40-0, I can't believe it...we should of killed the Falcons too...we should of gone to 2 SBs that decade. They will torture me forever...

Sorry NME locus, but being a Vike Fan is way more pain...At least you won Superbowls with Unitas...
snuffypuffer
So long ago....
frogfish
crying.gif....when will we ever win one???

SB XL in 3 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

et's daddy
the colts are done

ESPN.com says this morning Edgerrin James says his days there are over

and come free agency march 3rd he will be looking at other teams

i think its for real, no one can find a colt person saying they want him back

and edge probably finally sees Peyton will never win the big one

GO PATRIOTS
Super Pancake
Well I think its more that Payton is not seen as much of a leader, same thing with Mcnabb. Their both good players on the field and can win games on their own but when it comes to leading players I don't know if their cut out for it.

Espn reported Troy Polamalou injured his ancle and has been listed as probable for Super Bowl Sunday

saw that story too

but recently they said he practiced today with no problems
frogfish
I doubt the Colts will let go a player with the caliber of James...they are more likely to let go Wayne instead. SB picks anyone?
Triniant
Well, Snuffypuffer, it looks as this is your year and I'm following suit. I picked the Steelers to be in the superbowl so I might as well follow through and predict them winning: Steelers 24 - Seahawks 10.

I just don't think the Seattle offense is going to be able to figure out the Steelers defense. To continue on....(like Indy/Denver) Seattle doesn't know what to expect from the Steelers offense, cause we all have seen a run happy team go to a pass oriented juggernat and I believe that is the biggest difference. Seattle has a tougher task preparing for both Pittsburgh's offense (is it going to be run or pass based, who knows?) and defense (one word: Polamalu). Who or what do you focus on and what are your strengths, those are Seattle's questions.
frogfish
Alexander and Hasselbeck are the keys to Seattle.
Super Pancake
^ Don't forget the probowl fullback Mack Strong as usual he was always the key block for alexander in the running game. I think he is going to be important in the running for the Seahawks.

All year I sh!tted all over the Seahawks for having the easiest schedule in the NFL. After seeing them dismantle the Panthers I finally gave them the respect they deserved.

I"ll put up my predictions tomorrow
frogfish
Seahawks at Steelers, Superbowl XL Detroit

Steelers have surprised the last two teams by goin aerial, so don't expect them to come out running. If they can protect Rothlisberger, then he can pick apart the Seahawks defense. Seattle's key is to get Alexander running hard and fast early...ehich will be a tough job against the Pitt D, which has possibly the best collection of LBs, (Foote, Haggins, Porter, Farrior). Not to mention their ProBowl NT. If Alexander fails, then it is up to Hasselbeck to pick up the slack as he has done all year.

I see the Seahawks having a hard time running, and will be forced to pass. Hasselbeck will be forced to make throws, and he will goof up. I see Rothlisberger having a big game, and their rushing attack getting over 100 (Parker-Bettis). The Steelers D will have a great game, and Polamalu will make some big plays.

Steelers 21 Seahawks 10

Keep in mind Carolina was down to their third string running back in that game. Jake Delhomme and Steve Smith didn't get any help, and against Seattle's defense they had a slim chance of winning the game on their own. Pitt is going to be a much different story than Carolina.

I think we're about due for a whuppin' 27-14 Pittsburgh.
tcgram
I believe it's going to be a close game, but I think Pittsburgh will squeak through and win. GO STEELERS!! yes.gif
frogfish
I think Snuffs is biased tongue.gif
Super Pancake
Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh SuperBowl Sunday Baby!

O.k I'm going against the pick. yeah thats right I'm going with the Seahawks. Not that I think they are a better team but, I want to see an upset. Yeah I'm an evil person that campy The Bus is going home for the superbowl to play his last game makes me want to puke. Man I want to see the look in their faces if they lose. devil.gif

Anyway lets look at my pick, Seattle has the number one offence, I think numeber seven defence. They lead the league in Sacks with 50 so Rothlisberger will get pressure. And I'm confident of the Seattle running game which has the MVP and a great offensive line. Hasselbeck is going to need to step up even more 10 times more the Steelers D is good at disguising their coverage, I don't see him getting many short passes with Polamalu running out their when he plays the pass so he going to have to go long. the seatle D has been quiet all season only to immerge against the Panthers, I think their going to have to pay special attention to Randel El (who should finally get his potential relized if they give him the ball) and the the steelers TE, if the steelers decide to go to the air.

BTW Snuffy the Panthers third string back was considered as good as the other backs they had, for a third string back he had his fair share of 100 yard games, he just got knocked the %$^ out by Tatupu.

I want a high scoring game

Seahawks 53 steelers 0

Steahawks 35 - Steelers 24

Edit: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 4th quarter is about to start its game time, Seahawks is gonna take it.

Edit: Oww man interception

Edit: NOOOOOOOO stupid gadget plays those hypocrites they complained how the Colts don't play smash mouth football they play tricks to win games look at the Steelers now playing tricks twice too.

Edit:WTF they punted there in the fourth quarter with 6 min and down 2 scores.

Edit: Cooking up some crow for me to eat now I don't see the Seahawks coming back, hey where are you guys?
Super Pancake
bounce.gif yeah steelers won, wow Porter and Polamalu quiet all game

clap.gif Hines Ward MVP he deserved made some big plays.

crying.gif I didn't get my upset,

Now all we going to hear is this the greatest game ever played, cowher finally wins the big game, Youngetst Qb to ever win the game, The Bus played his last game sob story all week.

I wanted to hear Cowher still can't win in it all, The Bus does not retire, Steeler fan goes on homicidal rampage, Hasselbeck goes to disney World, Nirvana comes back.
