Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Da Bear....they had that coming to them! Their defense is overrated...just look at their schedule. They are a 1 year wonder.

whew.... it's mid-week and I'm still dragging around work getting eaten alive by Steelers fans here. They even went in my office and took my COLTS flag and hid it. I walked around the job site and theres a few steelers flags. They are trying to be funny by mocking me.
That was an awesome game. I was satisfied plenty when Jerome was in shock from his fumble which almost lead to a comeback. That just showed him the potential of what Mannong can do in a few minutes. The game changed as soon as Manning sent the punting team back off the field.
Super Pancake : GIANTS vs COLTS next season... and shall I say all in good fun..." it's on that game" ......Manning vs Manning.

Do you understand the fundamentals of football and strategies?

My Picks for the weekend.
Steelers at Broncos-
They both are similar teams, both pund the ball away with the rushing attack and play solid defense. Shanahan has his best team since their Superbowl year, WHICH they would of lost if Gary Anderson didn't miss the game-winning FG for the Vikings in the NFC Championship. Bill Cowher has potentially one of the best defenses in the league. With the Steelers playing better D, they will win.
17-7 Steelers.
Panthers at Seahawks-
With Alexander still having a headache, you won't see 30 touches from him. Rely on seeing the Seahawks going aerial with Hasselbeck. The Panther's Delhomme is red hot during the playoffs, with a 10-2 TD-INT record, and the highest passer rating oif any QB in the history of the NFL with more than 150 pass attempts in the playoffs. (103.2) Add in the stellar Steve Smith, who just torched Da Bears, (They got that coming! Go VIKES) and a red hot secondary...Panther's run away with this game.
30-17 Panther

I like your picks, Frogfish.

I don't know that the NFC title game won't be a lot closer, though. The Panthers' running game is really beaten up, with Stephen Davis out and DeShaun Foster breaking his leg in the Chicago game. Means Nick Goings will have to be productive for an entire game. I do still think they will overcome the Seahawks, though.
Could this be the year for my beloved Steelers?

Its hard to pick I'm like on the fence on these games. I still think the Seahawks are not that good of a team but their perfect at home and the Panthers are on their fourth road game thats got to be tough on them.
The Steelers and Broncos game couldn't be even closer they both play the same type of football. i'll just sleep on it and come back on sunday and make my picks.

I hate the Pro Bowl. Half the people on it don't deserve to be their! Since when does DeAngelo Hall go over Antoine Winfield? Or Vasher for that point! All he had was 45 tackles!!!!!!! The offensive line is also way overrated...they are all soon to be Hall of Famers! Even if they did horribly.
The bad thing is, if you go to enough Pro Bowls, you're bound to be a Hall of Famer...Plus, half the Colts team that are going don't deserve to be there either...IT'S JUST A BIG POPULARITY CONTEST.

I know its hard to imagine, BUT, Im a huge Texans fan. Yes I knew we blew big chunks this year, but got to stick with my boys. We have the opportunity to grab either Reggi Bush or Vince Young. Im just curious as to whom we should take? If people would open their eyes, we need a good strong safety. We have a decent qb in Carr, but the O-line just isn't getting it done. Are there any decent safety's coming out this year?
frogfish
Jan 21 2006, 07:33 PM
Darnell Bing (USC) and Michael Hoff (Texas+ NCAA Defensive Player of the Year) are the two best. TExans should just worry about their O-line...Get some from USC or Minnesota.
Hey, I'm a Minnesota Fan, I've been through more pain than every other team...except for the Bills ('91-'94)

Its game day I'm still on the fence but if i have to bet my money in a desperate attempt to make quick cash I'm going with the home teams. Panthers are road warriors but at Seatle in that dome with that crowd its going to be tough. And I'm going to reference the history books no sixth seed (steelers) has ever went to the superbowl.

Sooo, let's have us a little discussion here, shall we? What, in y'all's opinions, is the biggest fluke Superbowl team ever? You know, the one year wonders? For me, I think it would be the 1998 Atlanta Falcons. They came from nowhere, got blown out by the Broncos, and didn't even have a winning season the next year. Totally unexpected.
Your picks?

1998 Falcons...They deserved to lose to y Vikes....Gary Anderson missed the winning FG...his first miss in 2 years! That Minnesota Offense was the greatest ever in he NFL...we would of blown away the Broncos...

Well, Snuffypuffer, it looks as this is your year and I'm following suit. I picked the Steelers to be in the superbowl so I might as well follow through and predict them winning: Steelers 24 - Seahawks 10.
I just don't think the Seattle offense is going to be able to figure out the Steelers defense. To continue on....(like Indy/Denver) Seattle doesn't know what to expect from the Steelers offense, cause we all have seen a run happy team go to a pass oriented juggernat and I believe that is the biggest difference. Seattle has a tougher task preparing for both Pittsburgh's offense (is it going to be run or pass based, who knows?) and defense (one word: Polamalu). Who or what do you focus on and what are your strengths, those are Seattle's questions.

Feb 4 2006, 04:54 AM
Alexander and Hasselbeck are the keys to Seattle.

Feb 4 2006, 03:24 PM
^ Don't forget the probowl fullback Mack Strong as usual he was always the key block for alexander in the running game. I think he is going to be important in the running for the Seahawks.
All year I sh!tted all over the Seahawks for having the easiest schedule in the NFL. After seeing them dismantle the Panthers I finally gave them the respect they deserved.
I"ll put up my predictions tomorrow
frogfish
Feb 4 2006, 07:20 PM
Seahawks at Steelers, Superbowl XL Detroit
Steelers have surprised the last two teams by goin aerial, so don't expect them to come out running. If they can protect Rothlisberger, then he can pick apart the Seahawks defense. Seattle's key is to get Alexander running hard and fast early...ehich will be a tough job against the Pitt D, which has possibly the best collection of LBs, (Foote, Haggins, Porter, Farrior). Not to mention their ProBowl NT. If Alexander fails, then it is up to Hasselbeck to pick up the slack as he has done all year.
I see the Seahawks having a hard time running, and will be forced to pass. Hasselbeck will be forced to make throws, and he will goof up. I see Rothlisberger having a big game, and their rushing attack getting over 100 (Parker-Bettis). The Steelers D will have a great game, and Polamalu will make some big plays.
Steelers 21 Seahawks 10

Keep in mind Carolina was down to their third string running back in that game. Jake Delhomme and Steve Smith didn't get any help, and against Seattle's defense they had a slim chance of winning the game on their own. Pitt is going to be a much different story than Carolina.
I think we're about due for a whuppin' 27-14 Pittsburgh.

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh SuperBowl Sunday Baby!O.k I'm going
against the pick. yeah thats right I'm going with the Seahawks. Not that I think they are a better team but, I want to see an upset. Yeah I'm an evil person that campy The Bus is going home for the superbowl to play his last game makes me want to puke. Man I want to see the look in their faces if they lose.
Anyway lets look at my pick, Seattle has the number one offence, I think numeber seven defence. They lead the league in Sacks with 50 so Rothlisberger will get pressure. And I'm confident of the Seattle running game which has the MVP and a great offensive line. Hasselbeck is going to need to step up even more 10 times more the Steelers D is good at disguising their coverage, I don't see him getting many short passes with Polamalu running out their when he plays the pass so he going to have to go long. the seatle D has been quiet all season only to immerge against the Panthers, I think their going to have to pay special attention to Randel El (who should finally get his potential relized if they give him the ball) and the the steelers TE, if the steelers decide to go to the air.
BTW Snuffy the Panthers third string back was considered as good as the other backs they had, for a third string back he had his fair share of 100 yard games, he just got knocked the %$^ out by Tatupu.
I want a high scoring game
Seahawks 53 steelers 0
