I have a quick question for the hardcore skeptic out there, (you know who you are tongue.gif ).

I believe in aliens. Its actually never even been a question in my mind. Now, weather or not they come to our planet, I'm still undecided. My question is this- As skeptics, do you generally just not believe there are even aleins in the universe? Or like myself, do you have disbeilef over wheather or not they come to Earth?

I just can't possibly believe, that we are the only intelligent life in the entire UNIVERSE!

Musings? Comments?

Statistically speaking, in an infinte universe there are infinite planets. These infinite planets may or may not support life as we know it. But statisically speaking they probably do.

However, in an infinite universe, another planet with life could be infinitely far away, therefore, as you said, they do not visit us.

But yes I believe in the possibility that life exists elsewhere.

The thing I'm very skeptical about concerning aliens is not their existence so much as their intentions. Why should we believe that they mean to do us good?

As one of the most hardcore skeptics on this site, i do indeed have to say that

Yes. Yes i 100% believe in the existance of Aliens somewhere in the Universe. As AngelofMercy said, considering the Universe is infinite, that would mean infinite planets and solar systems with infinite chances of life and therefore infinite types of lifeforms out there.

However, they certainly have NOT visited this planet and they certainly wont in the lifetime of our planet.

Hello, this is Norman. And I would like to make it clear that I also
believe in what you percieve as "aliens" on other planets. And I
aslo believe that what you call "aliens" have not visited earth.
Regardless of all the evidence supporting triangles and saucers,
I believe that most of us here are not aware of what "aliens" really are.
I think that IF "aliens" that simply would like to observe us, would be
interested in visiting us. However, what you call "aliens" in flying
saucers have been here since our existance. They are constantly
here in our atmosphere, and they are watching us. Now, WHO these
beings are is more like a personal opinion. Mine is based on Biblical
proof. And I know that CHIN will not agree. rolleyes.gif
The flying saucer is a divine creation of God that has technology
called the Elohym. If you check out www.bibleufo.com, you'll notice
that what I've stated is there. The "aliens" are no aliens at all.
God's throne is in the heavens, and His holy angels are serving Him.
Think carefully about this: Are all books evil? No. So, don't judge a book
by its cover. You must know what is inside them. The same with UFOs.
Right now, we are unable to make the difference. We think that the
"aliens" are simply here to observe us. But there is more than that.
So, in a sence I am a skeptic about what you think is inside those UFOs.
(if anyone actually believes the way I do) I agree. Aliens on OTHER planets
will probably not come and visit us. But the "ALIENS" that BELONG HERE are.

Dang Norman now you gave ma a splitting headach!!! Oh well i believe!!!
BurnSide
Yeah, he does that.

Okay, so Jesus and the aliens got together one night, got really ripped, and started making crop circles. then, a bunch of whacked out Israeli prophets saw this, and started feverishly jotting it down. Set aside, let simmer for a couple thousand years, and then you get some crazy a$$ religion. Heh.

If aliens have visited us, and I mean if, do you think they got a t-shirt?
BurnSide
Aliens stuck a probe in my ass and all i got was this Lousy T-Shirt.

Scientists did a study on this if you apply magnetic waves to the brain people have hallucinations that are just like alien visitations. So no aliens have never been here. But there are alien life forms in the universe. On top of that why does everybody always feel the need to take away from human achievement. Why do aliens have to visit us and give us technology? Why can't we just be smart enough to figure things out on our own.
VampChilde18
Does that mean I acually might be sane if I don't see the aliens abduct me?

No I'm sorry it doesn't.

I think they exist, and I do think they've come here many times. I understand why a lot of people may not think they've come here, just a lot of hoaxes, but how do they explain people's sightings and abduction experiences. How do they explain for the indentations and chips under the skin?

For people who are skeptics, do you really try to research this phenomenon very thoroughly with an open mind, or do you just hear stories from time to time and base your assumptions on that?

As a skeptic I tend towards the simplest explanation for a phenomena. That means that if someone see's a light floating in the woods, I tend to beleive it is a flashlight prior to believing it is an envoy from another planet or dimension.

Now, I am fairly familiar with the creative abilities of the human mind, and I have seen first hand examples of people imagining incredibly detailed events that never happened. It is a simple hynotic exercise that is fairly common in courses dealing with such. So, when a person tells me that they have been abducted, I compare their story with the many dozens of identical stories from people who created the event in their minds, and I decide "Does this story have anything in it that would cause me to believe that there is a possibility of an advanced civilization conducting medical research on human beings, or could this person simply be experiencing the exact same effect that we have seen in test subjects so many times?"

Of the two, the latter is quite a bit more probable.

evidence has nothing to do with their optinion.
The UFO phenomena is frowned upon by most people because:
1. Exploited by the media
2. Condemned by the Church
3. Denied by the government
4. Ignored by scientists and archelologists.
I'm not surprised there are SO many non-believers.
thewicked1
All you have to do to make me beleive is offer hard proof. A clear picture of non human technology. Or proof of a chip. Anything better than blurry photos and impossible stories.
