This is the board that the Titor hoax started on. A poster there pieced things together.

In a nutshell, the owner/admin of TTI cooked up the plan with a lawyer, the lawyer's son, and the lawyer's dad to pull this off to sell merchandise. The lawyer's dad is in the Air Force (or something, I forget), which explains repeated references to aircraft in "John Titor"'s posts. The admin went so far as to admit "I know who John Titor really is."

So there ya go. A plan to hype up their site and to sell T-Shirts. Sorry if I rained on anyone's parade by passing this along.

What a stupid way to make money-I mean, how many T-shirts could they have sold??
Wings of Selkhet
Hah. That's...sad. I doubt they even made that much money.

Ok. Instead of vague sarcasm and a whisling emoticon why not explain why he didn't "Solve" it? It seems a likely enough explanation. Far more likely than an actual time travellor anyway..

T-Shirts? Scamming to sell T-shirts? Who is stupid enough to fall in and buy a "I'm met a Time Traveller" T-shirt? I mean, Time Travelling fine if it's true, but I don't go on to spend money to buy a T-shirt over it laugh.gif

I think these shirts would make a killing
