For some reason my computer would just spontaneously turn off on me. So I looked inside and the lil orange light on my mobo is on, so it seems that that the mobo is getting power. Then I try to hit the power switch on the front again, and the whole computer powers up for all of 1 sec and then turns off. The lil orange light remains on the entire time. So i figured mayby the power supply got fryed or something, so I bought a new power supply. This ones 400watt, im not sure what the previous one was(i think 300 or 350). So I install the new power supply and everything works well for a week, until the same thing happens again. This time it turns off in front of my eyes, and theres no power surge, no dimming of the hosue lights , nothing. And now every time i hit the power switch, it turns on for a sec, and then turns off. I really dont know what the problem is? Is my comp drawing to much power, and fryign the power supply? Is it power surges? Is my mobo short circuiting?

I solved the problem. Seems that a ATI Radeo 9800 pro, draws a heck of alot of power, just needed a bigger power supply.original.gif

You caught me in the middle of suggesting you contact Bleeding-heart, good thing I previewed first. Glad to hear you solved the problem. thumbsup.gif
