Hi, I am not sure if I am at the right place, but I have had a strange thing happen to me, off and on, for the last 8 yrs.

I have been a paramedic for 16 yrs. It first happened in 1996. As a women was dying in the back of my ambulance, I saw a glowing mist looking thing rise up out of her body,very small, all most the size of a softball, it continued to rise until it disappeared into the ceiling. I was the only one who saw it. It happened 4 more times over a 6 mos period that year. Once again, I was the only one who saw it. It has happened aproximately 6 or 8 times each year, not with every dying person, just certain ones.

I recently began working at a childrens hospital and it didn't happen for atleast 8 months, and I have worked with a lot of babies who eventually died. Then the other day, I saw it again, the baby died 2 hours later.

I told a friend about when it was first going on, he said it was my minds way of coping with watching someone die. I just don't believe that, I know it is not in my mind. It is just too real!

I have tried to touch it but it feels like nothing is there. I know this sounds crazy, but does anyone have any similar experiences to share, or an explanation. Jordan

Do the people who died and exhibited this phenomenon have anything in common? (Like medical conditions, etc.)

What you describe sounds like the soul leaving the body. It has been documented on many occasions by photographs. Sometimes the mist is not seen by the naked eye. Other times it is. Keep a camera handy!

Not to compare people to animals, but when my friend's dog was dying, she said at the moment of death she saw a puff of smoke rise up from the dog's head. She's a very spiritual person and has extensive training in energy healing, etc. and she said that it was the soul leaving the body and only people sensitive enough can see it.

I was with a friend when she died recently. She was hooked upto machines and it felt like she wasn't really there anymore, when the machines were turned off we sat with her until she passed. In the last few minutes of her life I saw ( it's hard to describe ) it was like an energy ball moving around a couple of inches above her face. It disappeared when she died. I truly believe it was her spirit being there with us.
