The worst situation You had ever. The situation that You want to forget, to pass by it, but You can't.

one of the best and worst experiences happened to me at the v festival lol.
It was the best in terms of bands.
But it was the worst in terms of no sleep, sunburn, wasps, portaloos, cold showers and crap food lol

Nearly got drowned in a pool with a friend on my shoulders at 10.
Head nearly got crashed by mechanical closing gate, found strength to shout and the doorguard quick enough to press the button, at 11. and others I prefer to forget ...

In December 1989 at around 11-11.30pm I was driving an armoured vehicle in the city centre of Belfast, N.Ireland. I took a wrong turning and ended up in an out of bounds area of the city. A crowd of approx. 50 people, who were standing at a taxi rank, spilled onto the road and forced my vehicle to stop. The infantry troops in the back acted with instinct and true professionalism and de-bused from my vehicle to deal with this very unexpected situation. Now myself being the driver does not have to leave the vehicle, so I sat patiently and nervously waiting for the infantry to dispers the now very angry, drunk anti-british crowd. They were all around my vehicle banging and kicking the doors. The next thing I know is my door is flying open and I am being physically drag, kicked and punched from my vehicle. The soldiers I was transporting came rushing to my aid and had to fight through the crowd to save me. To this day I cannot thank those soldiers enough for there quick thinking and bravery that no doubt saved my life.

The worst would be the four years it took for my Mom's cancer to finally take her. I'm just glad she was able to say "Good-bye" to my Dad at the end.

The worse situation in my life has to be moving in with my ex husband who was into drugs,an alcholic and used to beat the living c**p out of me.....
He isn't in the picture anymore, dumped him and never have any contact with him anymore(thank god)
Want to forget the bruses, broken ribs and the times he put his hands round my throat and squeezed until I turned blue...but if I forgot then I would never learn.

Even though my Mom's death was the worst thing that happend to me, I wouldn't to forget it, because then I'd forget that a person can face Death with courage and dignity, and that every second with loved ones is precious and dear. My Mom used to give me little mottos to think about. One of them was:
"Time is a precious gem... the less there is, the more precious it is."

I don't know if I would post the worst things that have ever happened to me. As they are not the worst anymore, rather things that I survived. Something that I can live beyond now.
All I do know for sure, is that everything happens for a reason, and if not for horrors, how can anyone ever appreciate life's breathe. For everything beautiful, there has to be a contrast, or how would you ever know beauty?

I think what you have said Reese is very accurate,I have now been able to see that my friends are more then people I talk to or socialise with....they are the world to me.

Wow, I certainly feel put in my place by all the people who have had such terrible things happen to them.
I'm so grateful that in my short life nothing too bad has ever happened to me *touch wood*

Thanks Alice.
Really.. Life is full of horrible situations and horrific happenings. I think it is more important to look at how one rises above that. I chose to look at the beauty of the world, instead of the horrors..
Good for you to get beyond that which was thrown your way, though. It makes you a wiser person to conquer that which can encompass and defeat so many..

Edit; removed nonsensical text.
rino,
Use a little common sense when posting to various threads. Sophmoric humor isn't going to be welcome or appreciated when the topic is so emotionally charged.

As humorous as people may think your little bit is.. It seems kinda tacky amoungst a thread full of things people have overcome... That was just my bit.
