A photograph taken in the Boothill Graveyard of a man in 1880's period clothes. After the picture was developed, a similarly dressed "aparition" can be seen just to his right, coming out of one of the graves in the background.

It has been said that the figure also seems to be carrying a knife.

Here is an enlargement of the ghost from the above picture.

I'm not sure about this one. If it was merely someone in the grass then the shadows would be the same, yet the shadow of the figure in the grass if in front of it, while the shadows of every other object is behind them.

this one freaks me out because i realize how hard it would be to fake. not impossible though, just really a pain.
there are slight burn marks though. could be a publicity thing.

For a ghost coming out of a Boot Hill grave he sure wasn't dressed for the era in which he supposedly croaked.

what kind of sicko would play around on a grave for a cheap shot...talk about respect for the dead.. also creapy, what if the dead person was actually bought back to life, grabbed him, pulled him down and ate his brain...yum... but it could be real. i would say that it was photoshoped because of the shadow thibgy majiggy

Oh! Oh! He's a grey!
He does have a big head, but so do I.
Just a thought... if this photograher was taking "period piece" photos, how do we know that this isn't just an accident; another photograph sticking and imposing part unto this print? It happens. Do we know anything else about the photographer or the project?
Or, rather, the terrain? This reminds me of the Borley Rectory one, with the ghost that seems to be stuck in the ground...
Could be faked... but this one could be real. Go ghosts! Woo!

The ghost doesn't really look like one. If you look very carefully behind that first ghost, it looks like another HollyWood hungry ghost has appeared. It's standing on the flat ground. Freaky though!

Shadows on ghosts don't have to follow any actual laws, do they? If ghosts are in fact timeslips of some kind, couldn't the shadow be from the time of day the ghost was walking around? Why take a period piece? Who cares?

this clearly wasnt taken in the 1800's. the image quality is way too sharp. i think its a fake taken recently.

I'll tell you all what I read about that picture.
I came across it on a regional ghost site a couple of years ago when it was pretty new. The guy who ran that site is also the guy you see in the pic. He was having the pics made .. I think it was just for his pleasure actually, but I could be wrong on that score. He wrote an excited piece about how they didn't expect anything like that, yada yada.. somehow he came by the opinion that the man in the back was a ghost of a half-Indian fellow who had died in the 1920s, or perhaps a little earlier or later. He did mention the possible "knife" but I haven't been able to see it myself.
If it was faked by putting one picture into another, there would be signs of that, right? He claimed there weren't any of those signs to be found, I think. But he never said it wasn't a blow-up cut out of a man, like they use in the movie theaters. It has a two dimensional quality to me, so I have that thought in the back of my mind when I look at it.
It's a cool picture though. Something about it is unnerving!

Whether this is fake or not,the fact that this guy is"lurking"in the back ground looking at the camera just gives me the hebee jeebees!!

I don't believe it because of two reasons:
1.) Take the 'ghost' out of the picture and then ask yourself 'why would you photograph someone like that when there is nothing of special interest in the right hand side of the picture?' I realise it's Boot Hill, but if I wanted my photo taken with some graves in the background I would pick a spot with something of interest, say a large headstone or something that at least makes it interesting. AS it is the nearest headstone is only half in the picture!
2.) If it is a shadow in front of the spectre (look at close-up), it doesn't seem to make sense when the guys shadow is in another direction (the sun was somewhere in front of him when the photo was taken).
Does this make sense?
Ducky.

[SIZE=1]I Feel that more evidence is needed to prove that that picture is real. I for one need more positive proof.

I'm not really a sceptic but I think this one is a real person hiding in the grass - perhaps a kid.
It put's me in mind of a story that was published in a Canadian book of ghost stories - a couple holdaying in Scotland seen a knight on a horse who jumped over a fence and galloped off into nowhere.
It so happens they were driving on the edinburgh - dumfries road - at night during a thunderstorm - and saw my dad's friend on a horse - he was doing a sponsored charity ride dressed in a suit of armour when his horse bolted during a thunderstorm.
( a friend of the guy was on holiday about 4 years later and read it in the book)
The dates match so it was definately him!!!!!

This is defenately a fake to me, the shadow of the man is in the wqrong direction, as there is a plant or something in the foreground with the shadow pointing to the bottom left, where as the shadow of the ghost is pointing to the bottom right.
Also the ghost has no shoulders that I can see, its as if someone got a pic of someone in a big hat and been masked around, and then pasted into the picture of the guy in period costume.

the thing about this one is that it was taken by someone who runs a prominant paranormal site.. so they're less likely to pull a hoax. but then again, this would be so easy. but.. it's not that good. if you're gonna pull a hoax, you should at least put some effort into it. i also read that there are supposed to be legs sticking out of a grave to the right of the man in front.. does anyone see that?

also, this isn't from the 19th century, a man and his friend went out to some cemetary, and the one man dressed up and they developed the photos in b&w so it would look cooler and more "authentic". as far as i know this is about 3 years old

The boot hill picture in the gallery has bothered me for a long time.. because i know it's fake.
If you look that the "ghost" dosn't it look a lot like freddy krueger ?
So i played around.. and came up with the attached image.. i added 2 new "ghosts" to try different possibilites of blending methods..
I'll admit, the one on the right side of the image is not shaded correctly.. but if it was, it'd be a dead given for this "ghost"

Actually, if you zoom in on the "Ghost" you can see it isn't Freddy. Still looks fake though. The ones you added do fit right in...

Yes indeed Mr. BurnSide. And let's take into consideration that this picture comes from the Clanton Gang web site, which is affiliated with the Tombstone Tourist board. It really helps out their Ghost Tours when people see pictures like this and think it's a ghost..
