[[B]SIZE=7]The Protector
A few years ago I had cancer and had to go for therapy. After therapy I became extremely exhausted. All I wanted to do was sleep. At one point I had a burst of energy. In this burst of energy, I lit a candle, and put potpourri on the stove on a slow simmer. Straighten up a bit and fell right back into my exhausted mode. I laid down on the sofa. I have no idea how long I was asleep. The next thing I knew, I heard heavy footsteps coming down the hall, it stopped at the archway of my living room. Then I heard a male's voice saying "Lainie get up." I opened my eyes saw the figure as a solid shadow. I answered him in a couple of minutes. Then in a stern voice he said, "Get Up Now." With that I opened my eyes said ok, dragged myself up. He had disappeared. I walked into the hall, looked down the hall, I saw the candle I had lit was at its end, the flame was shooting high. I also noticed that there was a piece a paper I must have moved near the candle. It had lain dangerously closed to the flame. I quickly went & put the candle out when I noticed another burnt odor. I went into the kitchen. The potpourri I had simmering was burning away. All the water had evaporated.
I am totally convinced that it was my Guardian Angel that woke me up that day. He saved me from burning my home down, and who knows what else. [/SIZE]

Found this:

1. Guardian angels. Everyone has a guardian angel, with no exceptions. I've met people who doubted whether they deserved to have a guardian angel. Please know that you have a guardian angel with you, guaranteed! This is the angel who constantly stays with you, from birth until your transition back to heaven. This angel's love for you is unconditional and bigger than anything on this earth. Your guardian angel makes certain you are safe and guided always.

Guardian angels are sometimes confused with "spirit guides." A spirit guide is a loving being who has lived upon the earth in human form. This person then received special training in the afterlife about how to become a spirit guide. This training emphasizes that the guide is not to interfere with your free will or make decisions for you. The guide is there to give you general advice, comfort, and at times warning and protection. Most spirit guides are deceased loved ones, such as grandparents, siblings, beloved friends, and parents. Your spirit guide may have passed-away in the physical life before you were born. However, this loving being was there at your birth and has been with you every day of your life since. Just as you will always take an interest in your family's future offspring, so do the deceased family members whom we may have never encountered in physical form.

Spirit guides act in the capacity of guardian angels, in that they bring many gifts to our lives. The main difference is that true guardian angels, who have never walked as mortals upon the earth, have a higher vibrating energy frequency. People who are empathic, who can "feel" the sensation of a spiritual presence, can tell the palpable difference between an angelic and a spirit guide appearance. Clairvoyants see that angels' aura is bright white, whereas a spirit guide's aura is not quite as bright and may appear as a bluish-white.

I believe we all have Gaurdian Angels from birth. I also believe, that in different situations in our lives, another Angel, who specializes in the field of the situation, we are in, helps us.

Because of different belief systems, I had thought, Spirit Guides were another name for Gaurdian Angels.

My experiences with the spirit realm, showed me, that, our loved ones & friends, do come around us, and may help us in a situation. Guide us if you will, through a situation.

All I can do is echo everyone else's sentiments by saying that I am VERY THANKFUL that you beat "The Big "C"!!!"

I have several Chronic Ailments, but I have NEVER faced anything as scary as Cancer!!! (My Dear Mother passed away from the illness in 1991, but She was listed as "Terminal" for a full ten years, yet She continued Her' career as a Symphany Musician and did Voluteer Work with The Red Cross until Her' final year!!! She was REMARKABLY Strong! She NEVER took Chemo., She refused it!)

I have Lupus, Glaucoma, High Blood Preasure, High Cholesterol, Various Digestive Tract Problems, and I am currently battling Anemia. However, I have had to take Chemo, it's sometimes perscribed for Lupus Patients as a radical treatment used to get The Disease under control. I took Chemo back in about 1995, but I've gotta tell you, I was SO SICK that I actually PRAYED TO DIE!
(Thankfully, G-d said "No," huh?)

Nevertheless, I CAN relate to the horrible side-effects of Chemotherapy,,,I've been there.

Dave,

(Thankfully, G-d said "No," huh?)

As my beautiful Amanda would say "FOR SURE" thumbsup.gif

Sorry about your Mom. She sounds like a wonderful person, who must of inspired alot of people.

Can I ask you. Did you think at 1 time, you heard her music, after she passed? Then you rationalized it and or still wonder if you did really hear it?

Thank You for your well wishes. I am grateful also. My daughter needs me so very much now. I'm so happy that I am here to help her. Though, today, I know, my Mom, who is in spirit, helped her and comforted her, on the road she had to take.

You take care of yourself. Watch your diet. I have a friend, Krick, who I posted about the Fair Oaks investigation, she also has lupus. That's my order, "You take care of yourself & watch your diet." grin2.gif

Yep,,,FOR SURE!!!!

Tell Amanda that I like her' words. wink2.gif original.gif

Thank you for the condolences about my Mother! She's been gone for a long time now,,,as has my Father.

You know,,Her' battle with Cancer was a silent one. She NEVER told ANYONE, Not Even Me about The Diagnosis until Her' final 4-6 mos. She LIVED with Terminal Cancer for Ten Years, WITHOUT ever making it known. (I'm not even sure wheather or not my Dad knew about Her' illness. He died four years before She did, and His' was an unexpected death. He died of Sudden, (Accute,) Cardiac Arrest, (A.C.A.,) WITHOUT prior Heart Disease.)

For the most part,,,my Mom became an inspiration to people ONLY AFTER Her' Death. That's when most people finally learned that She'd been sick for all of those years. She WAS a WONDERFUL WOMAN!!!

I was with Her' when She died, but in the days, weeks and months following Her' Death, I think maybe that I DID hear some music. I don't know if I rationalized it or not. Its been 13 years ago, but I probably DID think that one of my kids had left a stereo on or some such thing. Frankly, I come from a Musical Show Biz Family. I had three Grandparents who were Professional Musicians and my Mom. I was a Radio Disc Jockey from age 14 until about three years ago. (I left radio to go back into Law Enforcement.) The point is, it has NEVER been unusual for me to hear music coming from somewhere around me.

After my wife died, I finished raising our girls alone. It was NOT such a terribly difficult thing for me to do,,,but ALL kids need a Mother and a Dad, when that's possible. I REALLY FAUGHT My Lupus HARD, especially while the girls were still at home. I wanted to be able to be there for them and do for them, as well as do things WITH them, so I NEVER let that stuff get me down for too long. I know that they needed me just as Amanda needs you.

They still worry about me being out on the streets Policing. My youngest daughter told me not long ago that she didn't want to lose me 'cause she's already lost one parent. Liana has just graduated from UCLA. What do you know,,,I suppose that my girl still needs me. original.gif

I'm very sorry about your Mother,,,but I'm thankful that She was there in spirit as a comforter for your little girl while you were sick.

Lupus is a vicious disease, as I'm sure you know from your friend, Krick. I'll be sure to watch my diet and take care of me... grin2.gif thumbsup.gif
