Full Version: Mysterious spots on the wall after I hung plates

This is my first time posting here, not even sure I am putting this in the right forum. I am at a loss to explain something and hoped someone here can provide some input.

Several months ago my grandmother passed away. I helped with cleaning out her condo and was given several of her things, including a pair of decorative plates she had purchased in Rome, Italy. I came home and hung them in my kitchen. By the next morning 8 perfectly round light brown dots had appeared; 4 framing each plate (top and bottom) in the same place. I tried washing them off and could not get rid of them. They are not nail pops, they are not mold or anything else like that, when you touch it it feels like the rest of the wall. It's quite myserious, nothing I can explain, I am quite freaked out by it. Any thoughts? I figure there has to be a "logical" explanation but all I can come up with is it being "a sign".

Was she a very spiritual woman? Exactly how are the spots placed>?
SarahD
It's hard to explain without sketching it out. Alright, the plates are both 8" in diameter and are placed 8" apart. The dots frame each plate, meaning there are 2 at the top on either side and 2 on the bottom on either side for each plate. If you connect the dots it would be a square framing the plates. The dots are exactly 7" apart in all directions for both plates.

No, she was not very spritual.

Any ideas, anyone?!?

Is there any way that water could be getting to it? Pipes behind the wall or leaks maybe? Water will usually cause brown-ish colored stains. Could you take any pictures?
SarahD
It's not water, there are no pipes behind the wall where they are hung. It's not wet, it's not raised, it's not anything I can explain! I did take pictures tonight, not sure they will show up though. I will get them developed this week and post any that come out.

Edited to add 2 things I forgot to mention:
#1 Her writing desk (that I inherited when she died) sits just below where the plates hang.
#2 The cat will sit on the floor and stare at that part of the wall sometimes.

Hm...just out of curiosity, do you know her favorite color? Did she really like the plates? Where they sentimental items? Or just precious to her maybe?

Hope to see pictures soon. Your cat could be picking up energy from the plates and desk. (I'm not sure why he(she?) is staring at the wall. I've never had a cat and I have no idea about how they act, or why they might stare at walls. O.o;; So that's pretty much the only explanation I could think of. )

Cat picking up energy?

Brown spots?!

Please I'm not even going to waste time by explaining how many kinds of insane this.

Look forward to seeing the pics of this miraculous event.

Cat picking up energy?

Why is that so insane? People pick up weird vibes from time to time. Why not animals?

Yes yes I'm sure.

Better not do anything naughty then stand near my neighbours cat cos god knows what might happen....

huh.gif I am only trying to provide all the information I have in hopes someone might have heard of something similar or has a logical explanation for it. I don't know if the cat or the writing desk has anything to do with it, I only mentioned it because it might connect. There is no need to get negative and testy about it, if you don't have something nice to say or something relevant to say for that matter then it's best left unsaid. Thank you to those who are truly trying to provide their insights. I am upset that "Ames" is being so mean about this. I have no idea what to think, any logical explanation I have tried to think of has gone flat. That's why I came here, I am not making this up, I am perplexed and want to know what's going on.

I wouldn't get upset, the skeptics on this site are pretty much out to prove all this is nonsense, it's not a personal insult.

You said that's it's "insane" as if to say I am making it up. I'm not, I do not exactly believe in "paranormal" things but I can find no other reason to explain what happened. Please just stay out of it because you are upsetting me, thank you.

Ames,

If you have nothing constructive to add to a discussion besides derisive childish comments, then kindly keep your opinions to yourself. If you doubt the varacity of the members story, offer credible and knowledgeable insight into what you 'think' is occurring, sans the flippant, belittling attitude.

My personal opinion is that the spots were already there. Perhaps you just never noticed them until after you hung the plates....a coincidence of sorts. The cat? You just can't figure cats out. I know...I've tried.....and have given up completely, but that is an entirely different thread topic. tongue.gif

I think we need to see pictures to truly identify the phenomena.

If there is a picture, you would have proof and we can examine it.

In my personal opinion, the dots are probably made from a spirit cause your cat looks at the spot, a decieced loved one's desk is under it, and a loved one's belongings surround the dots.
SarahD
Thank you to those trying to help me make some sense of this. The dots most certainly were not there before. I own my house, I live there alone, I know how everything is in my house! I hope the photos turn out, I will try and get them developed tonight or tomorrow night.
