Bigfoot may be on the loose in Matagorda County. At least that’s what the Texas Bigfoot Research Center is reporting. Yes, there is, in fact, a center devoted to Sasquatch spotting in the Lone Star State. So if you plan to pack up the family this weekend and head south to the beach, tell the kids to keep a sharp eye out for the elusive, furry, overgrown, manlike critter when you’re driving near the nuclear power plant. In a report filed with the TBRC recently, an unnamed person reported that their granddaughter was driving near the plant and saw what she thought was a man walking out into a flooded rice field. While that might not seem too unusual, what she claims to have seen doesn’t indicate the situation was all that normal. “As he came closer she could see how huge he was and covered with hair,” the reportee goes on to say. “He was bending over and standing back up like he was looking for something.” So the person shot some photos of the huge, hairy hunter through her car window. Two of which the witness sent on to the research center for review. One of the pictures is posted on the center’s Web Site. It shows a grainy view of a rice field with trees along the back fence line. Before posting the picture on the Web site, researchers took the time to circle what they believe is the mystery being in question. Casual observers in El Campo, upon seeing the picture, were heard to say - with a great deal of skepticism apparent in their voices - that it appears to be no more than a sturdy trunk of a stately oak.
