I was just wondering after I began reading the final prequel battle of corrin and reading all of the other dune books. Which people though were the best and if the prequels were better?!

I loved the first 4 dune books in the 6 book series by frank herbert and the final two were good but didn`t match up to the other in my opinion! All the prequels I have just loved though, they really explain everything and fill in all the gaps as well as having so much of there own to offer.

So just which dune books do you think are the best? Have brian herbert and kevin.j.anderson done a good job with the prequels? Lets here your opinions on these excellent pieces of litterature!!!
MK ULTRA
I tried reading Dune once but found it too confusing, huh.gif Something about spice and worms and sand and I dunno!
The film was pretty cool but I found that confusing too! wacko.gif I liked the fat, smelly man who explodes and Sting being a prat!
A friend of mine really liked the books, but he was always more clevererer than me. whistling2.gif

I liked the first one best. Naturally. I only read the first three, though. The second was kinda a dud. The third was good, but I remember having a hard time finding a character to get behind. I mean, just as you started loving a character, they turned evil or power-hungry or full of themselves, etc. Still, I can't help liking the original movie even better than the book. I mean, come on, Sting was in it for Chrissakes! And Kyle Mac Lachlan was yummy back then wub.gif

Well the dune series is finally going to be finished with kevin.j.anderson and brian herbert writing the two novel finale as we speak on the outline of dune seven by frank herbert!

I read the first three because back then it was a Trilogy only. I guess I enjoyed the first book the most because it was the catalyst for reading the others. Ah, the spice, the blue eye syndrome, the worms, the family atomics, the twins, (weren't they twins?).

I loved Dune!
