Maybe the government does know that they exist.Maybe they found a body or maybe more.Because if the government told the public that sasquatch,aliens etc. exist,then people would freak out and carry around guns.There would be many problems if the government admitted to this...

DeLoy's ape was proven to be nothing more then a spider monkey, if you search various sites related too cryptology you will find what im talking about. It isn't sitting on a chair, DEloy shot and killed it he has it propped up with a stick that is holding up its head.
