Has anyone heard that the Sphynx of Giza has moved to face the signs of Cancer and Leo? Apparantly that means 'Water is coming'. Wow the day after tomorrow may just come yet lol.
BTW, I invited a friend to the board. His screen name is BeenTold, feel free to say hi, he doesn't bite (I think lol j/k).

I'll just go buy myself a really deep underground-sort-of-place where I can hide from the water and the ice lol. Mind you, you could take it in the Biblical sense, where "water" often stands for information and that sort of thing.
Anyway... that's me.
I'm new here - and I don't bite, (just imagine I now wrote "unless you ask me to", but I won't cuz it's sad lol). I do like discussions though, especially about the topics touched on here. Looking forward to getting to know yall.
Oh and my real name is Paul.
Thanks for the kind intro Ashley

The Sphynx, like all things and beings on this planet, moves all the time. Along with the planet. When Ashley said that it moved to face the signs Leo and Cancer, she meant that the earth has moved in such a way that the Sphynx faces the signs Leo and Cancer.
Isn't that kinda obvious?

After hearing some of the claims around here, no, I take nothing as being obvious. Too many interpretations of the word.
One question that would pop to mind is: What exactly did the constellations Leo and Cancer mean to the ancient Egyptians? Did they even know about them?
Another would be: Would the fact that the Luxor Hotel, being in Line with the Sphynx, and therefore also pointing directly at Leo and Cancer, be a sign of increased tourism? It is, after all, bigger and grander than the old monument.

Oh aquatus1, I suppose only time will tell. Eventually, time does produce a story to be told right?

Time, yes, or alternatively, plenty of silver crossing the palms of those fools in the Egyptian government barring research into the ancient monuments.

Yes, of course they knew about the Zodiac. Their symbol for Cancer was a Scarab beetle. And they worshipped Siruis which is also a constellation, of which, 3 pyramids where made to line up with the 3 stars in the constellation. Thereby, this
is seen as a sign.
This is a pic I got off Webshots (community) that explains it.

Ahh...Ashley,
You do know that is the humor section of Webshots, don't you? They spoof on regular tourists pictures? They claim the Sphynx moved its head forward (literally, not Earth rotation) as a joke. They have other pictures and captions including one of Vlad the Impaler haunting the countryside as a vampire and George Bush getting a warning (among other things) from Bin Laden.
It even says Great Humor 2 in the upper left corner.
This is precisely why one should never take anything as obvious around this forum. I'm positive that Ashley was convinced that there was a sound reason for the Sphynx moving (I have differing opinions from hers concerning the credibility of astrology). However, trying to find the cause for the Sphynx moving and the meaning of its astrological assignment is moot if it turns out the original claim was a joke to begin with.

Ok, I can't find anything else on it, except that it was built to line up with Leo and Virgo. It's possible though that the position has moved because the constellations, from OUR view have moved one sign back, so if it was Leo/Virgo before, it would be facing Cancer/Leo now anyway, possibly. The water thing though is probably where the joke is.
Anyway, no I didn't know it was from a humour section, I wouldn't have posted it otherwise.

No, they didn't have a zodiac. The Dendra zodiac is Greek, not Egyptian, and certainly nowhere near contemporary with the 4th dynasty. Leo didn't mean anything to them, and the sphinx has not moved.

Bullshit they DID have a ZODIAC. Go read the HISTORY OF ASTROLOGY. Cancer was associated with a SCARAB BEETLE.

Even in the Book of Enoch it talks about the Zodiac. Even the BIBLE talks about it. Obviously some people don't realize how OLD astrology really IS.

Sirius is a star, its not a constellation!

The three pyramids that are aligned represent the three stars in the belt in Orion!
They might have known about the Zodiac, but do you?
