FLY SPITTA
Hey all hows it going? Well the other day my brother was talking to my Mom in the living room. When I walked in he stopped talking. Don't you hate it when people do that? I said why do you always do that! I got mad. He said you don'tneed to hear this you'll get scared. I thought he was playing! I sad "shut up tell me." Well he did he finished telling my Mom the story. He said about 2am he was getting home.(he's always out late) He said as he pulled up he seen a light in the sky. He said he thought a plane was on fire in the air or something he said that's what it looked like. Then he started to wonder what it was 'cause he said it just stayed there.

Now my brother is not the type to believe in UFO's and stuff like that he makes fun of me when he comes in my room and sees my on the internet about this stuff. By the way my brother lives across the street him & his girlfriend and 2kids.

Anyway he said he started to wonder what this was he said he seen the neighbors just getting home also he was going to go call them, but he said they went inside to fast. Then he seen a car pasing by he was going to stop them also, but he did not really know what to do. So he looking at the light then it just went away! He said he ran in the house and jumped in bed right away! laugh.gif Now that's one person I believe is my brother he is 22years old and NEVER lies! He is the 2nd most trusting person I know. So does anyone know about a light (red) over the desert of Southern CA? We live in Barstow. Anyone know what this light was?
_CHIN_
If that's a true story, I'd like to see at least a simple a drawing of what he's seen. I'm wondering how close it was to him, and if he noticed any details whatsoever. At first it looked like a burning plane, but maybe he got a closer look...?
FLY SPITTA
Well I don't doubt the truth I know why you do it's hard to believe someone over the net....especially if you don't know them. My brother is not a artist so I think a picture is out of the point, but the only details he said was it was red looked like it was on fire and...well here let me put it like this. Ok my brothers house sits on a hill kinda. Down the hill is a hotel. He said it was like on the hotel parked it looked like and it was red. then it just disappered. See our town has a lot of stories but we never have pics. Thats why im getting a cam phone so i can take a pic NE time;
Blazea58
I belive what you say, but yea there just isen't enough evidence to go stating what we think it was. It could have been a meteor, as a couple hundred people spotted a red fireball last week, but was said to be just a meteor. What kind of characteristics did the object have, any shading in some areas that made it look as if it had edges? Anything not ordinary about its movements? was it moving erraticly, or was it just moving one direction across the sky...

Go ask him more about what he saw, tell him to ellaborate on it a bit more.

No kidding...

So from what I gather now, is that at first the light was up in the sky, motionless, but then eventually moved to be almost, or on top of a near-by hotel where it sat motionless again, until it seemingly disappeared?
_CHIN_
It might be best to somehow get your bro to do a small write-up of exactly what happened, so it is more easily understood.
greychupa
I saw a red ball of light ones, and it looked like it was on fire, like you said. I'm not sure, But in my opinion, it was a rocket.
Did it go up and down and swing sideways ?

No Evidences, No Story.... Sorry man, not calling you a liar.

Thats true. What else could have created a red light in the sky? A spot light with red material in the bulb? I don't think so.

Its either a UFO, or something else. I don't know cause I don't know what it looks like.
_CHIN_
Would a rocket or any other light phenomena fly from the sky to park on the top of a hotel, motionless? ummmm..... no.... So, if it is a true story, sounds like abduction.

It's difficult to re-tell an experience someone has had in perfect detail. Alot of details can be lost when that happens. In the initial post D12 wrote, he left out the part about the motionless object in the sky moving towards a nearby hotel and landing on top. That's a pretty big detail to leave out. In order for it to make any sense whatsoever, every detail is needed in the story, otherwise it wont seem very true.
earthygirl04
Interesting... Do you think maybe it was just an airplane in the distance?
I've seen airplanes far enough away that all I could see is the flashing red light. (I call it the taillights.)
Shakezulah
theres not really enough detail explaining how it looks. if it was just red and on fire, id say it was a meteor. it could have been some odd reflection off of something too.
FLY SPITTA
Ok I'm going to try to give as much detail as possible from what he has told me. He did not notice the light as he pulled up the drive way....but as he stepped out of the car he noticed a red light. He said it was bright red somewhat glowing. It was red so the only thing he could think it could be was something on fire in the sky. He said it was sitting still in the sky over the hotel just sitting there. He said he watched it for a few minutes. Then he backed up and kinda crossed the street to get a better view then it was gone like that! Basically he said it dissappared. He did not see it flying away or nothing it just dissappeared it was gone.??? And thats it basically.

Now I remember a story not to long ago maybe about 6 months. A few people said they seen a red light over the local police station..as a matter of fact that was in the newspaper. Said reports that there was a light over the station many people saw. Kinda like the same light my brother saw. What I will do is I can e-mail the newspaper editor and ask if she can give me the article I'm sure they got the story in the records.....right?
Shakezulah
hmmm....myabe he thought it dissapeared cuz it went behind some clouds when he wasnt looking. was the light over the police station exactly the same?
David_Cubero
I believe you D12!!!

I live rather close to you in Burbank. (I'd guess that I'm only about 100 miles from Barstow.) But I have not heard of any "Red Light UFO's" in this area recently. Of course, that doesn't mean that there wasn't something up there!

I'm skeptical about it being an Alien Space Craft. I always look toward Earthly/Human causes or OTHER Natural Causes before I jump to E.T. Visitation notions.

You state that it WAS NOT moving. That SHOULD Rule-Out Meteor or Fireball Burnthroughs. (Most of The Fireballs that I've seen burn Blue, but some, depending upon there Chemical/Physical Make-Up DO burn red.)
But these things move fast, THEY BREAK THE SOUND BARRIER IF THEY BURN THROUGH AND PASS CLOSELY ENOUGH TO YOU, and they burn-out quickly OR strike The Earth's Surface somewhere right away. They DON'T hang up in The Sky...

"Ball Lightning" or "St Elmo's Fire?" These naturally occuring phenomena are outside possibilities...

A Satellite reflecting The Sun? This is POSSIBLE, but NOT Very PROBABLE! Mostly, Satellite's are visible shortly after sunset and shortly before sunrise. This occured at the wrong time for Satellites to have been the likely cause...

It MAY HAVE BEEN a Near-Earth Asteroid. There was one that passed very recently and it was close, but yet far enough out that it COULD HAVE reflected The Sun's light at THAT time of The Morning, IF it was large enough. However, I don't know what it's size was, nor what The Local Time was when this object passed Earth, nor do I know from what part of The Planet that this thing MIGHT HAVE BEEN visible from The Ground, IF AT ALL!

Remember, we live with ALL SORTS of Military and Scientific Research Installations all around us here.

Any ONE of these places MIGHT have been conducting some sort of Aerial/Atmospheric Experiement OR Manuvuer.

MAYBE IT WAS;
-An Experimental Aircraft...
-A Satellite Launch or Sounding Rocket Launch from "Vandy" OR Edwards...
-A Military Flare...
-A Weather Balloon from EITHER Military Base, from Mnt. Wilson Observatory, OR from The NWS, for example...
-The Routan's doing a test with "Spaceship One" OR it's Launch Mothership...
-A reflection off of The Atmosphere of one of OUR MANY Wildfires here...

There's SO MANY places nearby doing SO MANY things in The Sky, and SO MANY other things going on around here, it's hard to distinguish The TRULY Unexplainable Things from something Man-Made OR Natural.

Living in The High Desert, as you do, You're MUCH MORE LIKELY to see the weird things in the sky than I am, being that I am in this "Megalopolis" called L.A. County, with It's 10 Gadzillion Lights reflecting off of The Smog and Marine Layer. The Ambient City Light's here make it next to impossible to even see ANY, but The BRIGHTEST Stars in The Night Sky. blink.gif

Knowing the exact date that your Brother saw this anamoly MIGHT help to determine what may have been visible in the sky that morning...

I DO work Third Shift as a Patrol Officer in LA, and I have not seen anything UNUSUAL in The Sky recently.

However, IF it is NONE of these things, then perhaps it WAS an Alien Craft... alien.gif

You're Welcome "D." original.gif
mr_halo
i voted yes because if you don't know what it is, its a UFO to you, and i don't know what it is either, just because i say its a UFO doesn't mean i think its an alien craft

original.gif
FLY SPITTA
yeah it was a ufo I suppose ufo means unidentified flying object and that was what it was.
mr_halo

indeed it was, but then again maybe somebody else could have explained it original.gif

for example a pilot or an aircraft spotter....
FLY SPITTA
True, but as for me it was a UFO or well actually for my brother it was. But you never know what it was that's the best thing!
Velikovsky
Just remember that being up in Barstow you're not that far from the air force base. I lived up in Phelan, by Victorville, so you can see some strange things.
One time there were some loud sonic booms in the area, at first the radio was reporting it as the Aurora by the next day the story changed to the Stealth. Also that was the same area I saw one of the flying triangles. Then on top of that you've got the missile tests so you always have the odd clouds in the sky. I'd say it was one of their tests. The military is allowed to fly with lights off so that could be why it disappeared. A helicopter isn't ruled out.
FLY SPITTA
yeah also I remember me and my Dad seen 2lights going crazy in the I mean crazy the movement was amazing! They were going so fast in one direction then suddenly change and go the other. We were told the next day it was something to do with the base.
moe eubleck
whats the deal with bases these days? they all seem to have lights. ...
FLY SPITTA
I would have to agree with you on that.
Sum1
it could have been a UFO. Last night i was looking out my window at about 1:00 in the mornig and I saw a red flashing light moving accross the sky, i know it wasnt the police helecopter because this was way to high in the sky. so i assumed it was a plane, but i couldent see any thing but a big red light, so i watched it move then it just dissapeared.
radio_flux
carry on.

Here are a couple of links you might check out:

This One has a form where you can report UFO sightings.

And This One is a sight you can read of reportings in your area.
Such as: Hi, I am writing this for a friend who witnessed 6 red lights about 7pm over Oakland, CA on or about Sept 4th. The red lights changed

I can not believe, everything I just wrote, and I tried to give clear
examples, just left my screen...

I generally write my long posts on another program (I use Works) and then just copy and paste them when finished. thumbsup.gif
radio_flux
Copy that. 10-4.
