Deadly Nightshade

There was a really interesting documentary on television last Monday where a doctor went to Armana in egypt (sorry if I got the spelling wrong)
...to find the mummy of The most Important Queen Of Egypt. She Reigned as an equal to her husband the King .
This doctor went to the Valley Of The Kings to try and find Nefertiti.
Nefertiti had 6 children, 1 died to some sort of disease(a plague or something).
Nefertititi soon vanished from existence not long after her husband died and she was forgotton.
But the doctor and her medical team were allowed to conduct experiments using only x ray equipment to find out if the mummy in tomb kv35 was her.
After much research they found out that the mummy was female and the material around the body and the fact she had her arm bent upwards suggested that she was a pharoah !
Although many more tests have to be carried out by the rest of the medical team, there is no doubt in the laDy drs mind who went out and discovered this mummy, it was the mummy of Queen Nefertiti.
This is a truely amazing discovery.
Did anyone see this programme???

Here's a bit of information about Queen Nefertiti, for those of you that do not know about her:
Queen Nefertiti was the wife of Akhenaten, and quite probably ruled Egypt for a little while after his death, until their son Tutankhamun took the throne, nothing was known about her until in 1912, a limestone bust was found of her in the area of Armana, it dated from 1345 BC.
Her name means 'the beautiful one has come', and this has led egyptologists to think that she came to Egypt from a foreign land. Other than that nothing is known about her before she became queen.
While she was queen however she had an unusually high status, and some Egyptologists think that it was she and not her husband who staerted the monotheistic revolution in Egypt, when they set up the sun disk (the Aten) above all the other gods of the land.
She bore Akhenaten six daughters, two of whom may have died in a plague. She was the stepmother of Tutankhamen. Some Egyptian scholars theorize that around year 12 of Akhenaten's reign Nefertiti may well have become his co-regent, and immediately after his death became a pharaoh in her own right, ruling alone for a short time.
Like Akhenaten, Nefertiti's name was erased from historical records and her many likenesses defaced after her death, as Egypt reverted to its former religion.
With so many enemies, the obvious question is whether Nefertiti died naturally, or was she murdered? We don't know, but the mummy that Joann Fletcher believes could be Nefertiti was mutilated in the years after her death. Perhaps, Fletcher says, it was done to prevent this figure from "living" even in the afterlife.

I think I saw that show. Did the mummy have one of its arms broken off and their face was all smashed?

I remembered the doctor (or was it the other documentary with the forensic people) saying that she had to change her name and forced her to revoke her belief in one god just to keep her kids (king tut and his wife) alive

To Athelus,
Yes I know about Queen Nefertiti, more than anyone thinks.
You are right, She was married to Akhenhaten and there is no doubt that She was Egyptian and that She did not come from a foriegn land. Although She did go to China and brought back a Chinese Princess called Sun Yun Hai and made her, Her High Priestess who stood by Queen Nefertiti's side.
She was stabbed in the stomach and a Medji took the blade out of her and although the wound healed, there still remained the curse of The Triple Golden Stab Wound.
There is no doubt that Nefertiti was a very powerful woman and even though she was Queen and Akhenhaten was King , She had the over ruling power.
Yes she did become a Pharaoh in her own right and through this , she had many enemies.
Nefertiti and Akhenhaten worshipped the God Amun.
When her life come to an end, She was Murdered for all Egyptians not only feared her but they were envious of her Power and having an equal right as a man. She was a Very Powerful Queen indeed.
Yes her body was mutilated to prevent her having an afterlife but even after death she still lives on. How do I know??? so not so many people, know, what they claim to know about Nefertiti.
She most certainly lives after her death, even today! So you see, it makes no difference that Nefertiti was wiped out from history.

To Mandavqo,
Yes she did have her arm snapped and her face was smashed in.
Why??? Because everyone in Egypt of that period was envious of the power that she held.

Thankyou Evenstar, She was truely beautiful wasn't she??? I have a bust exactly like this which was transported from Egypt. It is in my bedroom which I have Egyptian also, with midnight walls and ceilings, there upon are star constellatiations representing the Egyptian midnight sky. I have a swag ring in my ceiling above the centre of my bed which has been covered with lavish gold material, through the swag ring is draped a gold net material , coming from a point downward over my bed in the exact shape of a pyramid, which when the torch burns in my room, it looks as though it is a pyramid floating in mid air. I have a statue of king Tutenkamen in the corner of my room and a gold eye of horus on the side wall to watch over me as I sleep.
Its truely amazing what past lives have on this life, for I feel totally protected in this room.

Thankyou EvenStar, It is mostly because my Egyptian Past Life I have such an unusual room. Its so magical it is unbelievable. It holds so much power. Queen Neffertiti has had such an impact on my life. I have suffered the same things exactly as she did. Its a shame that her life ended through such viscious circumstances, but even so, she was a very strong woman and she even beat all the odds from her opposition to mutilate her body in such a horrendous way , for they thought it would prevent her from having an afterlife but she still lives on today.....No one that powerful could ever vanish from history, such power must be passed on.

Thanks for this post, Nightshade!! I think the story of Nefertiti is both beautiful and very tragic. But it's fantastic that her story has made it down through the ages! So many woman of the past have had their names tarnished or their glory forgotten, I am so glad that so much is being learned about this possible Pharaoh.
And I am very interested in pst life experiences, Nightshade. Congratulations for being aware of living in such an interesting time period as Ancient Egypt.

hey ppl....i know this is probably a stupid question since you guys seem to know alot about Nefertiti but I'm doing a project on her for school, do u know why she had one white eye in alot of the sculptures that there are of her?
Deadly Nightshade
Oct 26 2004, 12:35 PM
The reason for Nefertiti having a white eye on the bust was because it was she was that beautiful, it was removed not to offend the Gods.
Is that of any help to you SydNev???
I know all there is to know about Nefertiti as you will see if youve read the topic right through....This was my past life....so if you are doing a project on her at school , I will be more than happy to help you with it.....

While researching, many archaeologists discovered MANY women (proved to women) with their arm bent. During the mummification process, the men would purposely bend the arm to signify that that person was or had an important role during the time. Many archaeologists discovered many mummies like this deep down in the Vally of the Kings. Any one of them could be Queen Nefertiti!
