I did this on computer. I sculpted the landscape out of nothing, made a texture, painted it on, drew the clouds, lights and shadows, Made a surface map, applied the snow and bits of foliage, filled in the water, made the ripples, and then I rendered it. Made me feel like a God! It was pretty hard, but then again, it's my first "complete" one. All in all, it took about an hour and a half to two hours. The water, lighting and shadows are the hardest.

Qualla is my favorite What program are you using for this?

A various few. Mainly Terragen. It's an ok program, but it's only shareware right now, so it's not very good . I also use Forester and Blender, as well as various plugins that add the ability to use certain effects.
