I was looking at an old picture of my class at college yesterday and it got me thinking.
Before then, back in the late 80s, it was possible to look at group pictures before, and easily define the era it was taken within a five year span, purely by looking at the clothes and hair fashion on display.
If you saw a sea of dodgy perms and Pringle jumpers, it was the early 80s. Flares and long straight or shaggy hair, the 70s. Pudding basins, the early 60s, etc etc. It was all so easy.
Now, I'm not sure this is the first sign of ageing, but when I look back at the college picture from over 14 years ago, to a neutral it would be almost impossible to tell whether it was taken in 1990 or 2004. There is no definitive haircut style or fashion sense; they were all similar style to that of today.
Is it just me then, or are fashions just not changing like they used to?

there have been some definate youth culture looks that have been and gone, from your britpop to yer Oasis fans, your current breed of Burbery chavs, even the mainstays of youth fashion Goth and Punk have offshoots which are more 'cyber' looking which have been around for the last 5 years or so.

Take away the Burberry though, and everyone looks just the same. A photo from 1990 looks as if it could have been taken yesterday. That was never the case before.
Hair styles certainly don't seem to have changed much since the early 90s.

it seems that it used to be, there was onlyone or two types of trends that everyone followed. Now....anything goes. Theres still trends, but loads of different styles, and no matter how you dress, theres lots of ppl dressing the same, you'll fit in somewhere
also, anything retro is in.... for a while it was all 60s and 70s stuff, now it seems the 80s has taken over as the main fashion trend...yuck... so, a lot of pictures from today would look like old pics lol...they're wearing the same stuff.
