besides the obvious reason about why someone would hate winter, that being the cold, the snow, the wind, (which i do in fact hate, every one of those three), i hate the winter for another reason.
the cause of this reason is one of two things, i don't know what, but it could be either, least to what i believe. the high points for my ghost hunting has always been in winter, i'm more sensitive to them then for some reason. i don't know why, i don't question, i don't much care. but the thing is, around the same time this happens, i also begin to hallucinate, which makes me question most "ghosts" i supposedly see, except when others see the same thing or i'm just accurate about something little known that i knew nothing about.
anyway, what specifically happens, as i'm sure anybody who's actually read and gave a damn about this so far, is seeing things and hearing things. it's annoying right now, because it's started, and i hear voices which distract me from my job. i work at a bingo hall now, as a waiter and as a floorwalking ticket salesman (man that sounds strange). i'll be walking around i'll hear someone yell "bingo" but no one has spoken. i hear people calling me over and i'll find that nobody wanted me in that area.
i haven't started seeing things again yet, but, yeah, i don't look forward to that. it's distracting.
anyway. i figure the reasons for this is one of two things. i'm already more sensitive to ghosts or i am mildly schizophrenic. unfortunately for me, i believe it's the latter.

heh, none taken. to me, the only saving graces are x-mas and the fact that in winter, if you're cold, you can always put more clothes on. in summer, you can only go so far with removing clothes before people start to flee your general area.

Autumn and Winter are my favorites, cause its full of holidays

.
As for winter, it should be a happy time of the year!! Its when you don't have to be so freaking hot and if you get to cold, just where a sweater

.
Ghosts might be able to have more appearences in winter, but i would like to see the ghosts. I want to observe how the ghosts react to me......they'd probably look at me like this

cause I would try not to be scared.

I love the winter and to feel the snow crunch under my feet. but here in the south we hardly ever get any. I think ghost are more active in the winter for some reason.

Moe has not seen winter in 3 years. Hawaii knows no such season.
I am looking forward to wearing coats again.

have you ever been to a doctor to find out if the latter might be true?

Mmmmmmmmm, Autumn is THE BEST season, followed by Spring, then Winter, then finally Summer (I HATE the heat and humidity!).
Chico -- have you been checked for schizophrenia? Because unfortunately it is a possibility, although most schizophrenics probably wouldn't realize that they were in fact schizophrenic, so maybe you're not. There's also a disorder called "SAD", short for "Seasonal Affective Disorder" -- people who suffer from this tend to get very depressed in the winter. Don't know if it could possibly involve hearing voices or not, but you might want to look into it. I'm not sure why you'd be hearing voices now though, in September, if SAD is your problem.
Good luck, in any case, and I do recommended seeing a doc.

i haven't been to a doctor for any psychological things, mainly because if i did and it was found something was in fact wrong with me, my dad would be completely crushed, as my brother is severely manic depressive. so if i have to suffer for his peace of mind, i really don't mind doing that.
i don't so much get depressed in winter, like from seasonal affective disorder, i just don't like wind and i hate being cold. and as far as from what i've heard depression doesn't cause hallucinations. delusions, yes, hallucinations, no. i'm not saying it couldn't happen, i've just never heard about it.
heh, and yeah, schizophrenics are generally damn positive that there's nothing wrong with them. still, i have to wonder about that, what with the seeing and hearing things.

It has been theorized that hauntings are more commonly reported during periods of bad weather (particularly high wind & rain). I'm not sure if this is true, but if the ghosts are drawing energy from their surroundings to manifest, then maybe the extra atmospheric activity may be a source for them.

I love the winter we don't get any snow, but we get rain and clowdy days. Mostly just the cold days. No matter what it's better than heat you can always warm up by a fireplace or a sweater as for the heat not much you will still feel hot. So I agree I love the winter. [/blue]

That is one of the many reasons why I love winter. You may choose how warm you feel by the number of sweaters on. It feels warm to walk around the house with a blanket

Its not just the blanket thing, its the number of holidays it holds....well, in the US. I'm sure there are a lot of holidays in the other countries. But Christmas is the most important

I ONLY enjoy Summer!!!
-Autumn reminds me of dying.
-Winter reminds me of death,
and Spring, well, Spring is just kinda boring!
There's just no bikini-clad babes on the beach in any other season. That alone is a VERY Depressing thought!!!

Though I was born in the winter, January, I hate the winter. I hate being cold, having to wear layers of clothing, driving in the ice & snow.
I love the spring and summer the most. Spring, everything comes to life again, all of natures babies are being born, I feel sort of a rebirth or awakening myself.
The summer, I love walking around in shorts & a top and barefooted. To be able to just walk out the door, with out taking a half hour to dress for the weather. To have my windows open all the time & have the warm summer breeze drifting into the house, with all the aromas of flowers.
The fall, I live in the mountains, when the leaves turn, it is a beautiful site, just reminds me of the cold dark days of winter coming in. The mountain goes quiet at night. Too quiet. I hate that. All my neighbors goes into hybernation.

Wow, I never thought some people just don't appreciate the winter. Well, we are opposites and we like what we like. I hate summer for the soul reason cause its always too hot.
We just see things differently and that stumps me. I love winter....

I love winter, i like the way it gets dark at around 4 o clock so i come straight in from college and i know i don't have to do anything else, i can just put the fire on and snuggle with a cup of hot choccie and biscuits. Winter is especially magical in the run up to xmas, i like walking home in the snow (when we have snow, its more like rain or frost here, lol) and seeing everybodies lights and decorations and taking my sis to see santa, then i walk into the house and the xmas tree is there all lit up and there is a good hot meal on the table and my fave shows on the tv. To me winter is heaven! (until xmas is over that is...)
i can't wait for winter now!

I don't mind winter (I don't love it- but I don't mind it). When there's fresh snow on the ground, it feels like the world is clean and new again. The air is feels like it's also clean... and when it does get cold, it's just added incentive to curl up with someone special, and enjoy hot chocolate, popcorn, and movies.

Personally, I like all the seasons. Mostly because I can't make up my mind on which I like more.
But overall I think I like summer and autumn the most. Summer because it's not cold and autumn because you can wear jackets.
I like winter pictures. Especially night time winter pictures. Everything is pretty white and blue.
Spring's okay, but I like it mostly for the rain. I love rain! It rains in autumn too. Over here at least. Oh, it rains in winter too! Give me overcast skies with a light drizzle any day and I'm happy.
But back to the real question. I'm not sure why ghost would appear more in the winter. Perhaps it's because everything else is in a sort of dead like state?

I don't know, maybe they don't, it could be that your more aware in the winter than any other time because you have more time indoors, because its dark earlier...just a thought.
I'm with you on the winter pictures, they are beautiful, especially the night time ones, like you said.

Spirits are active all year round. We are just more aware of them in the winter. We're in the house more. Daylight hours are shorter, we, I believe just get more sensitive at night. I think it goes back to our survival instincs.
