Stellar
Well, theres some recruiters comming to my school tommorow... and I'm gonna talk to them... but I was hoping someone could give me some answers over the internet, might make it easier or something. Plus, it'll eliminate the chance that they BS me.

So, well, my questions are

1. What is the possibility of the reserves being called to active duty?
2. How much would they pay for university?
3. In what situation do the reserves get called up?
4. Can I quit the reserves?
5. Whats the possibility of me missing school? If something happens, will they call me up even if I'm in the middle of highschool/university?
6. Can I transfer to the RCAF from the army reserves without a high chance of being denied permission?
7. Is it worth it?

1. What is the possibility of the reserves being called to active duty?  They can only ask you, or in case of WWIII, Parliment has to vote on it- they can not just say, "You're going!"

2. How much would they pay for university?  I'm not sure on that one, but they will re-imburse a decent amount.

3. In what situation do the reserves get called up?  Civil Emergencies mostly- such as the BC Forest Fires, Manitoba Flood, or the Ontario/Quebec Ice Storms, Earthquakes, or civil unrest possibly if the police can't control it.  They usually just call in volunteers first.

4. Can I quit the reserves? Yes- you are not tied into a contract like the Regular Forces

5. Whats the possibility of me missing school? If something happens, will they call me up even if I'm in the middle of highschool/university? Very low possibility, unless it's a serious emergency

6. Can I transfer to the RCAF from the army reserves without a high chance of being denied permission? Yes.

7. Is it worth it?  I've been in the Service for 14 years... so there must be some worth to it.
