Wow, they are all beautiful, you did a wonderful job. My wife also thinks you are very talented and said to tell you that you have quite a future as an artist.

Great job.
Daughter of the Nine Moons
Wow Kat! These are awesome!
Kat_Kloud
Thanks guys! But... I wasn't really looking for a future in art. More of writing. I'm afraid to put parts of my book up yet though cause of guests. What if someone steals something? Anyways these are illustrations for it.
Kryso
If your writing skills are as good as your artistic talent then you will go a long way. These drawings remind me of what I use to draw; and I ended up going into writing and now have a published horror book. So don’t give up your dream anything is possible!
Kat_Kloud
awesome! I have some horror in my book.

I guess I can post just a short part of it to give everyone an idea. I'll start a new topic called "Cepheuspawn Chronicles" Kay?

By the way... here's the "intro" to my series. Tell me what you think.

QUOTE
A surge of milky liquid sped past my eyes, running along the veins of the leaves pressed around me. I could hear my heart racing, and nothing else. The leaves trembled as if they were a part of me and knew my heart like it was their own. My Adune Toriu: a plant… one that I’ve been developing in for a time now. I felt everything that happened… the pulsating liquid flowing within my veins… my mind… throbbing and dancing with the mind of my home… Aquariet… Attached to her, connected, knowing all that she knew and seeing what she saw.
My mind reached past what eyes could see… the stars, gleaming… streams of light connecting them all… purplish blasts of luminosity surrounding each sun… and all of it seemed to shrink, this intense greatness that I’ve seen and learned from while I’ve developed. The connection was slowly being severed between us. Realism crushed me, keeping me suspended in a little ball.
The leaves bent beneath my paws as I pushed down on them, unsheathing my claws for grip on the slippery matter. Beyond the leafy layer I found the hard outer shell, knowing that somehow I had to break it open. My lungs began to collapse as the plant stopped breathing for me and closed in, trying to force me out. I slid along my back, my wings crushing under me. I kicked in anguish with all four legs… kicked to get out, kicked to breathe…
The shell cracked beneath my plummeting and the milky liquid seeped out. Squirming in the enclosed space, I started pushing it open, writhing and squeezing through the leaves. The shell broke apart and a piece of it fell to the icy ground outside, a muffled thud. I thought I heard it crying… and then it was overrun by the intense cold… as I threw my head up and out of the shell, gasping for air and staring around at the blurry atmosphere…
The air was so bitter, so much that I almost choked on it. Time wavered, my mind was drowsy, as everything slowed down… and I stumbled on my own inhalation. Silvery-white feathers swam into view, my eyes told me they swirled around like phantoms… my mind told me they were still…
“Cetarae cea!” the voice burst unexpectedly in my newborn ears. I reached out with my claws and latched on to the giant Adune Toriu, dragging myself from the chamber and making small, wispy chirps that crawled from my mouth and carried out, ending like an echo…
“Cetarae cea! Cetarae cea!” My mind began to grasp reality, and it started thinking, translating, interpreting… and I again knew what I knew in my Adune Toriu… the bitter air turned sweet, aromas of sugary nectars saturated my senses.
“Suna, iet cina cetarae cea!” Come, it has silver eyes… That’s what they were saying…
I flopped over onto the icy ground, where my body immediately began to adjust to the cold. Ice… so smooth and soft… formed from the crystals that were Aquariet. The faces around me swam into view; they gathered and stared while I lay panting on the ground.
When my eyes had cleared I realized that they were the same as me: one of the races that inhabited Aquariet. Even before I broke through my shell I somehow knew what we all looked like, what the planet looked like… how to speak, write, walk, climb and fly. I was born knowing only the simplest of things.
We are called Aqua Adunis, or Aquarians. We are born being already a little more than a foot long from nose to our thighs and back legs. We are the same in length standing straight up on all four legs and heads held high. Our tails are like that of a dragon’s. In shape that is, starting about an inch in width and growing skinnier and skinnier toward the end, where a beautiful silvery-white feather is placed. Our bodies are covered in white silky fur, shining silver in glimmers of light. Four short legs and a small torso, four paws each with extendable claws clear like the crystal they walk upon, and elegant necks that hold up a head somewhat between a dog and cat’s. Our eyes face ahead of us, and our ears are like small stalks each webbed together with a silky, clear substance. Females have curly tips and males have pointy ones. Girls usually have better hearing; their ears act like sonars while the males’ are more like antennae. Our wings are filled with feathers smaller than the one at our tail but just as soft and the same in type. Some of us even have a few feathers growing on the backs of our necks intertwined with our manes.
We are born with the ability to alter our DNA sequence, create new strands, and delete some in return. We are a form of shape shifter. That is all I know. I’ve seen our world before I was born, the same way I saw the others, rotating and circulating in their orbs of light… but nothing can prepare you for your first life, your first beginning.
“Come on! It has silver eyes! Get over here!” I stretched my neck out and let out a small but steady word: “Cetarae?”
“It-“ I heard a second, younger voice, “-is a she. Can you not tell? Stop leering over my little sister…”
The others that had swarmed around me seemed to back up a bit as a smaller one came up, a white-tipped paw placing itself before me.
“Suna, Kataika, suna unith te ka…” Come, Kataika, come with me… I felt a soft wing brush my damp shoulder and in a swift movement, my sister lifted me over her shoulders and carried me away. I lay between her soft, dry wings and glanced behind us, where the receding crowd of Aqua Adunis watched me, and crystal rocks passed me by.
It was all happening too fast. I wished to be back in my home… where I could wander with the stars and watch with interest, the worlds around me… but those memories were leaving me as fast as I was being pulled into this new world.
A soft splashing reached my ears… I hung a damp paw over the side of my sister’s body and looked down… where there was the clearest of water… that seemed to hold its own light… like the stars had.
“Hold on, okay?”
I did what she told me. The water rose up around her elbows as she waded deeper into the lake… and the cool water licked my paw. I drew it back in surprise. The water dribbled off my paw and was reunited with the body of water. It left my paw dry and soft…
My memories and the knowledge I had learned were beginning to fade away every moment I was in this world. I could only remember the last few facts about my planet before they were swept away like the essence of a dream after you awake. It looked like we were all inside one giant cavern, dozens upon dozens of icy columns. They were created over time by the stalactites and stalagmites meeting each other throughout Aquariet.
“Mea…” I fought to find the right words. “What is… what do they call you?”
She turned her head with a grin on her face.
“Kiarra. My name is Kiarra.”
I was weary. Before I knew it… my eyesight had faded and everything had gone black.

Very good drawings. thumbsup.gif

Wow artist and writer! You normal find that great drawers become amazing writers, because to draw you have to be able to see the smallest of details, which when writing you pull upon. You can break things down to there smallest detail and explain it away.
A gripping read and truly worth publishing.
You will go a long way…

Wow thanks!

I drew this one straight into the computer with that paint program thingy called Photosuite. I'm not done, though.

Revenge: I blended my own style with some anime.

Your art is fantastic, i'm gonna take a wild guess here and say you don't like drawing feet....correct me if i'm wrong (i just noticed how you covered up the feet in one of them with a rock). The forth piece with the resident evil style tongue creature thingy, is amazing.
Jesus_Freak
HOLY CRAP! those are so freakin' awesome!!!!!!!!!!! you've made me look like the worst artist ever.... haha, oh well, you have a future in both writing and art... i can't believe how awesome those drawings are..... how long do they usually take?
Kat_Kloud
Thankies everyone. The good ones usually take a few periods in school... around a few hours for each of them.

And yeah I don't like drawing feet much. I've been practicing at it lately... got a nice pair of boots to stare at.... lol. Here's a picture where I messed up on one of the feet cause something was in the way but other than that the other ones look good.

Kat_Kloud
Here's one I did as a freshman and still really like other than the fact that it's too light... should have darkened it more.
Kat_Kloud
Here's another part of my series. The one I posted before is the first chapter and everything... so this part will seem like it has nothing to do with the last part. This is an excerpt from my second book (all four are still in progress; one of those series where they have to be written simultaneously).

Here's a few things to know so that you're not confused:

1). the characters are of a race that reproduce by planting a seed that grows from the palm of their hand. seed becomes adune toriu, (plant) which births the planter's child or children. There's three steps.

2). "becoming one" (they reach into eachother's hearts) means that every child born from their adune toriu is theirs together

3). example: guy plants his thingy and a child is born from it; that's his son. example 2: guy and girl become one before anything is born from the plant, and whallah everything born from it afterwards is theirs together. got it?

4)). another thingy is Aquariet is a world that is inside out. They live in the core rather than on the surface. The "wall" they speak of is the outerness-ness of the core. walls have been filled with silvery stuff that no one knew what the heck it was til' this moment.

Alright so if there's anymore quewstions after the read let me know. I'll be happy to explain.

Excerpt from Cepheuspawn Chronicles, Book II
Impossibilities

I couldn’t fall asleep that night. Could everything Cepheus told me really be the truth? I’m… his daughter? The things he explained to me made sense… but… how did it happen? How?

I kicked my cloak aside and got up from the ground. Cepheus was sitting at the fire nearby, and Seph was in a bundle on the other side. I wasn’t sure if he was asleep. Maybe he was just as confused as I was and just never showed it. When I walked towards Cepheus he turned with tears in his eyes. Seeing him in this state startled me, knowing someone who was so powerful and hateful could cry the way he did now.
He stared up at me from the ground with no shame in his tears, not trying to hide them or wipe them away.
“You’re… thinking about Katana again?” I asked quietly. He pat the ground next to him and said in an equally quiet voice, “Of course. I always am.”
I sat down where he touched the earth, crossing my legs and sighing. “I’m… er… sorry if I’m still not ‘warming up’ to you. You understand, don’t you?”
He laughed; a soft chuckle. “I ordered to have you sliced up, stabbed, burned, frozen… electrocuted… I see you came out of that one with something good.” He coughed.
For some reason, the things that happened to me back underneath the Academy didn’t hurt anymore. I was okay.
“I guess… I was fairly stupid for doing those things to you. I made you strong, yes… but…” he twiddled with his sword. I began to wonder if he ever put that thing down.
“Sometimes I am so consumed with hate that I make myself believe pain is the answer. I wanted everyone to feel how she felt… even you… I truly am sorry…”
I nodded. “It’s fine. I… understand how these feelings came about. I asked myself… ‘If Seno had been tortured and killed for no reason before your very eyes, what would you do?’ And… even though it’s wrong, I thought of the same things you did. I always wonder about how many other people have been hurt this way… people who were never as strong or courageous as others, who could do nothing…”
Cepheus watched me as I spoke. Everything I felt poured out of me that night. All I wanted to do was… talk…
“The worlds around us… they can never be peaceful like we want them to be. We have to find our own peace and be ready for the sadness that is destined to happen to each and every one of us. I see that now. Hopefully, I’ve seen the worst of my sadness… and maybe even you…”
When I said those words I had a terrible feeling my hopes were only hopes.
Cepheus sighed. “I hope your right.”
I sat there for awhile, watching the fire leap and dance, soaking up the warm atmosphere. Then I thought of something that made me wonder.
“Cepheus?”
“M-hm?”
“How… old were you when… you know, Katana died?” I hated to bring it up, but I had to know for sure. He looked up at me in sadness, his memories returning to him.
“I… was fourteen years old.” He answered.
“Fourteen… wow.” I stated.
“Yeah. She was fifteen.”
“Well, the, uh… reason I ask is… Aquarians… yeah, they sprout seeds at thirteen through eighteen, right? So I was born from Katana’s Adune Toriu, right?”
He was questionable. “Yes, why do you ask?”
“Just wondering… if…” I sighed. “Something tells me there’s more.” I looked over in Seph’s direction, wondering if he was listening in.
“Seph was born only a few days before me… yet, he is only part of you. He isn’t Katana’s son. Only yours. Yet I am born only a few days after and I am part of you and Katana. You told me Katana died just before I was born…”
Another tear slipped down his cheek. I felt horrible for making him cry, but I needed to know who I was.
Cepheus shook his head, looking at the fire as it cracked. “Even now I don’t see how it’s possible…”
These words baffled me. How I was possible?
“When I think back to it, it all seems like some dream. Like it never happened. But, it had to… you’re proof of it.”
“What?”
“Come here, I want to show you something.”
I edged closer. As I did so, he held his sword out in front of the fire with both hands gently. The fire glimmered in its reflection.
“Watch the blade.”
I watched. The fire swerved and melded into and out of the blade. Red and orange colors burst from it and soon I was devoured in the flame. But it didn’t hurt. The colors faded into nothing but darkness and the sound of the fire subsided. All was still and silent.
I waited for awhile, wondering where Cepheus had put me. There was no ground below me, but I still felt like I was standing.
After a moment, I heard the sound of pounding footsteps. An atmosphere painted itself around me. I was in another place, somehow. I was standing in… the Academy? I was near the bottom of the stairs that led to the old laboratory just next to where the Dark Knights met.
The pounding footsteps came from behind me. I turned to see two people heading in my direction. I thought for a moment if I should hide. It was too late. They were too close to hide now.
“Hey—“ but I was cut off. They ran, straight at me and through me, like I was a ghost or wasn’t even there. I freaked out for a minute, then remembered this was something Cepheus set up. It must be a memory.
I followed them, running swiftly behind them. The hall was dark, as usual, but the dim lanterns gave some hints as to who it might be. I saw a dash of long, red hair. The next lantern flew by as we ran. I spotted a long, smooth sword. It had to be Cepheus and Katana.
They panted and let out small gasps as they ran, almost as in fright. Then there were sounds from behind me, getting louder and louder. Starting off as a whisper, then it rumbled in a course hiss, gradually to a shriek.
I glanced behind me. In the darkness there were red eyes glowing like coals in a fire. A lantern passed us by, and a scaly tail could be seen in the middle of a violent lash.
Shadows.
I turned ahead again and saw the bottom of my parent’s boots as they ran along. A bluish light appeared at the end of the hall before them. They slowed in front of me. I imitated them, looking back at the oncoming shadows. I turned back to Cepheus and Katana thinking, Hurry!
I saw their hands touch for a moment, then they dived into the light. Bewildered, I chased after them. I felt like I hit my head hard on something. It was numb in one spot for a minute, then a throbbing feeling came over it. I rubbed it. The panting, the footsteps, the creatures’ wails. It all stopped. A picture came into view. I saw Cepheus and Katana standing at what looked like a crystal window. Katana let out a gasp and fell to her knees.
“What?” I cried. Why, I didn’t know. It was just a memory. I walked up to them, my boots making no sound on the smooth ground. I saw what it was they were looking at. The window was a wall of Aquariet. They were looking into Aquariet from one of its walls! How is that possible?
I looked through it as well. Along the wall I saw a young Cepheus being slashed across his back, his two arms towed up by shadows. They slammed him face-first into the wall, making him cry out. Fourteen years old… I shook my head. I didn’t want to see this. But Cepheus wanted to show me something…
They swiveled him around on his feet, facing him away from the wall, and started chaining him to it. His arms were to the left and right of him, his legs slightly parted and chained as well. Then one of the shadows took up its dagger and held it to his eye.
I flinched and looked away. Instead I looked at the Cepheus and Katana in front of me. They were watching themselves through this window. I stepped closer so I could see their faces. Cepheus stood there, holding Katana as she stared through the window on her knees. He was scar-less. His left eye was still there, and there was no scar in the shape of an X, yet he could have been no younger-looking than he was sitting by the fire. I then looked at Katana. She had to have been older than fifteen. But how? She was dead… she was dead… I looked again at Cepheus, looking for an answer. But he was just a memory. I heard the young Cepheus through the window cry out in pain, screaming for mercy. I felt my jaw drop as the older one sunk to the floor and started yelling, too. He cupped his hand over his eye as Katana turned and stared in helpless awe. She looked… exactly like me.
A handful of blood splattered the ground, despite his hands held up to his eye. He took his hands away to reveal a bloody face. Katana started crying. Then as soon as it had come, the blood evaporated and his pain subsided. I watched as his gouged eye and splintered face regained itself, sealing back up leaving two jagged scars intersecting where his eye had once been. His eyelid was almost shut, as if he were squinting. His lips were slightly parted as he looked down at his once bloody hands and felt his eye. He looked at Katana with pure sadness showing in his only eye. She looked back at him and sunk into his arms. She tried to bury her face, but was pulled back into reality with another cry of sorrow.
Then they held themselves close and watched again; the vile sin that changed their lives. I watched, too. A young Aquis revealed herself from behind one of the ice rocks.
“Leave them alone!” her little voice boomed. I gasped as I realized that it was Kiarra. One of the shadows turned to face her, grinning almost lovingly for a moment. Then, without warning, it raised its long scaly arm and sent it flying across her furry face.
“Kiarra!” I screamed.
She sailed a few feet and fell, lying motionless on the ground with Cepheus screaming in hate and agony.
The shadows continued to beat the young Cepheus, but he only flinched under their blows and stared in the direction of the second victim’s cries, struggling to see through the blood that covered his face. Across from him we saw a fifteen-year-old Katana being dragged along the ground in chains. She was calling, “Ceph! Ceph!” He could do nothing but call her name in return. The shadows pulled her up onto a rock, chaining her body across it so that she could just barely see Cepheus. She struggled and cried out to him.
My eyes returned to the Cepheus and Katana who watched through the window with me. They were looking at each other. I saw the communication between their eyes. It was the end, and they knew it…
Then I saw them do what Sen and I had done just before I had to leave the Academy, not knowing when I could return to his arms. They embraced each other and reached into the other’s body, through the chest and straight into their hearts. The light blinded me. They were becoming one. Their hearts connected for as long as their souls existed. Forever. They truly were in love, as I was with Sen.
The light faded, giving birth to an even brighter, blue light. It was in the shape of a tiny orb, and it hung in the air for a moment. For some reason I felt as if I had seen this moment before. The orb glittered and all sound was lost as I stared into the light. It gave off such intense warmth that I almost flinched. Then it bobbed around in the air for a moment, and attempted to pass through the window into the scene we were all watching. It fumbled for a moment and a soft whisper radiated from within the light. A shadow erupted from the wall and hissed at it, preventing it from going further. Silvery matter slipped off into the light as it finally forced itself from the shadow’s grasp. The light danced away and sound returned to my ears.
I saw Katana falling into Cepheus’ arms. I glanced back and forth at the older and the younger. I didn’t understand. Did they exist in the future, and were killed in the past? How did the shadows get there? What was that light? Why was it so familiar? Did they return to the past because Katana and Cepheus were weak and could not fight back? Why?
My gaze switched. Back and forth, back and forth. Katana in the past: she was being held down by shadows, and one held a dagger over her face. Katana in the present: She was sinking into Cepheus’ arms, staring up in fear. Past: the shadow brought the dagger down and it met with her forehead. I saw its grip on the blade tighten, and it sliced down with all the force it could muster. Present: A long gash ran from her upper right forehead down to her left eyebrow. She sunk even further into his arms and died instantly. The blood evaporated and showed a scar. Cepheus doubled over, leaning toward her face. He was crying so hard I thought I would die. I could only cry with him.
“Katana…” Tears fled down my cheeks. I went to touch her, but my hands only drifted through her. As if that wasn’t enough, the creatures dug into her head again, this time leaving a gash starting at the upper left forehead and ending at her right eyebrow. The blood drenched her face and again evaporated. Cepheus cried out in a half sob, half yell. He pulled her up closer into his arms and touched his forehead to hers, as if trying to transfer the pain to himself as well. He sat there, holding her limp body in her arms and rocking back and forth. I held out my hand helplessly.
I let my hand rest in my lap where I sat and stared back through the wall. The younger Cepheus yelled in rage, as did the older. Another burst of light half blinded me. Claws and torn wings sprung from the light. The light faded quickly and revealed Cepheus again, white and black claws and wings on him. The chains combusted into shards of metal that flew into the shadows around him. He leapt from the wall, plummeting his wings and slashing at them with his claws. The claws came out and went back in from the wrists, coming out each time he slashed.
The shadows started screaming. He threw himself down on one of them and beheaded it in one swipe. Its head rolled away, followed by a puddle of murky blood. He ambushed another, cornering it to the wall. He stabbed it through the neck. His claws left his body and stayed in the body of the shadow, leaving it impaled to the wall. Another set of claws sprung where the first had left, and he hurled them into another shadow. His eye burned like fire, blood splattering the walls and the ground each time he swirled to meet an enemy. Nothing could stop him. I looked away, but the screams from the shadows didn’t subside. I looked up and around, dizzied by the screams and the sight of all the blood. I yelled for Cepheus to stop it, that I had seen enough… but it kept going on, and on… and finally, after a long time of sitting with Cepheus as he rocked Katana in his arms, the last shadow screamed from beyond the wall.
I looked through again. I saw Cepheus, standing normal without wings and claws, looking at everything around him. The shadow’s bodies starting melting into a silver, metallic-looking liquid. It seeped together and shined. Cepheus held up his hands in each direction. The silver liquid started lifting into the air, where it slowly drifted to the walls around. It then splashed onto the wall and sunk in, slowly spreading to every other wall in Aquariet. I stared in disbelief. The liquid in the walls were the bodies of dead shadows…
Before the liquid sealed the window shut, I saw Cepheus lean into the younger Katana. He picked her up and started walking away…

I was torn from my own body for a moment and left in darkness. Then I woke up again, the warm atmosphere of the fire surrounding me.
Cepheus was there, sitting next to me, where he’d been before the memory. I stared up at him. He looked down at me and said, “So you cried, too…”
I wiped my eyes and stared back into the fire.
“I was the light.” I said quietly.
“Yeah, that was you. You headed straight for the Adune Toriu, just like any other would be born. You simply moved… through a wall that was standing in your way.” He whispered.
“I shouldn’t exist.” A tear slipped down my cheek.
“But you do. You exist, and you were meant to exist.”
The question of who I was had been answered. That small moment in time, wherever they were when they stepped into that blue light, was when I had become a possibility. They had become one in a time that was erased. But for some reason, I was still here… I still existed, even though she had died at fifteen.
“My eyes.” I whispered, almost in despair.
“The color was influenced by that shadow who tried to prevent you from achieving your goal.”
“Silver! MY EYES ARE SILVER LIKE THE ESCENCE OF THOSE REVOLTING SHADOWS!”
I wanted to gouge out my eyes. I wanted to stomp on them and squash them into the earth with their brethren shadows.
“And Kiarra was there; she knew you! Why didn’t she ever tell me!?”
“Do you really think a blow like that would allow her to keep her memory?”
My head burst in a mixture of understanding and confusion. I stood up and shook my head, looking down and closing my eyes. I looked at Cepheus and nodded my head as a “goodnight”, and went back to my covers laid out on the ground. I didn’t want to know how the shadows got to them through time and into the past, or the fact that it seemed impossible for me to exist. I only cared about killing every last one of them.
