Since "The Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown, there has been many many books released trying to prove him wrong or right, that the virgin marry sits next to jesus, and was married to him, or even one of his apostles.. what is everyones take on this???

I read the book, and found it absolutely fascinating - intend on reading it again soon (but been busy reading other of Dan Browns books ;-)
I don't recall it as being "Virgin Mary" sitting next to jesus, but "Mary Magdalene"
After looking at Da Vinci's art and other things mentioned in the book, I'm absolutely sure Dan Brown is on the rigtht track...if it is true I cannot tell, but I think it sounds more believable than "bible-history"

Ban and burn the books!!!
lol, I can see why some would. It is challenging to faith as some hold it for sure. I don't know if talking about the book is spoiling the book or what the proper ettiquete is if we can talk about the parts why some christian types would want it banned.
The whole concept is cool enough to write a book about!

I read the book, from A to Z, and found it boring. Why? The first half. It was too boring for me, but when they get to this old man's house the book improves a lot.
About that theory? Well, you gotta have more evidence than a supossed woman as an apostle in a DaVinci's painting to confirm that theory, and the other thing that left me wondering, about that thing with signs : ^ for men and the other for women. I went the other day to a library and checked a book about symbols, a non-Christian book (just in case anyone was wondering), and the signs were the other way round so...

I haven't read the book but two of my friends have and they didn't shut up about it for a week. As for burning it, I'm so sick of that crap. People burning Harry Potter books, people burning Tolkien books... It's sickening. Someone spent a lot of time writing those and someone is disrespective enough to go off and burn their work. Screw them.
I don't like what the bible says and think it's contradictory in some areas as to what I believe, but you don't see me burning them to the ground!

Yeah, sure, nobody is willing to believe a book with thousands of years of history in it, but some obscure author makes a claim that goes against the Christian religion and all of a sudden it's more true than the bible? Come on! You're just looking for any way to prove that Jesus never resurrected and is willing to believe anything. There is absolutely no proof whatsoever that Jesus lived after being crucified and there was no way he could've. He lost so much blood just from the beatings alone it would've killed him eventually, then crucify him for six hours, stick a sphere in his side and leave him for dead in a cave for three days and he would live through that?

I read the DaVinci Code and found it to be one of the most fascinating and thought provoking books ever written. The story line is intreging and fast paced, I couldn't wait for the next chapter so it was hard to put down. I think that Dan Brown has brought forth many interesting issues. With what we now know about certain facts of history, Jewish men that were prophets and teachers were to be married by Jewish law, Mary Magdalene could very well have been his wife. The catholic religion created their own scenerio several hundred years after Jesus death, but with the books of Thomas and Mary Magdalene being discovered we now have a different view on the whole theory. I see this new information as much more plausible.

I found the book absolutely fascinating, it seems logical, Mary Magdalene being his wife and an apostle... nobody will be able to prove it really with one hundred percent accuracy, but definitely food for thought. In fact this book spurred me on to question religion and study it more deeply.
