Scorpion record broken

A Malaysian woman has broken the world record for living in a room full of scorpions.

Nur Malena Hassan, dubbed the Scorpion Queen, spent 33 days in a glass box crawling with 6,000 scorpions.


Even though she has been bitten many times, she plans to stretch the record to 36 days.

The 27-year moved into her box, measuring 12ft by 10ft, in a Malaysian supermarket on August 21.

She has only left the box for a daily 15-minute bathroom break.

Nur Malena, who watches DVDs to pass the time, lacks sleep because the scorpions crawl over her body.

She has been warned she could pass out if stung three times within a short time.

I feel so sorry for the scorpions, having to spend all that time with a human!

I am all for record breaking, but isn't this kind of silly? Great you've lived with scorpions for a while...what next? Killer Bees? perhaps an ill tempered badger?

It seems like all of the "real" records have already been set so folks are just going for wacky stuff..."squirting milk out the eye: type of records just seems to lose some of the shine compared to "bench pressing the heaviest weight", or "Worlds tallest man"...
