I've searched UM for somewhere to ask this question but couldn't find anyplace so I've opened this new thread for the one question...Ought to be a Q and A section.

Can a meteorite be a magnet instead of being simply magnetic or is that the same thing?
I've heard meteorites are tested for authenticity by placing them next to magnets to see if they attract. But I found one (a small iron one) years ago and it is highly magnetic and sticks to almost any metal...Doesn't need any magnet (it is one) But is it a meteorite?

Universal Absurdity
I think it would be quite possible for a meteorite to be a magnet, or have a very strong magnetic property. The stuff flying around our solar system is mainly everything that the earth is made of (obviously there are some different materials.. beside the point) and magnets are a natural occurence here on the planet. So there is no reason to think that a meteorite could not be a magnet.
