This is a fascinating photo of part of a brass fillet running around the edge of the tomb of Richard Bell, who was bishop at Carlisle in the 15th century. His tomb lies underneath a protective carpet along a main aisle of the Carlisle Cathedral (UK), inlaid with brass.
Anyway, the appearance of the animals resemble sauropod dinosaurs, also that the necks are more horizontal than they are verticle. As some will recall, paleontologists, only until recently, believed that sauropods held their necks vertically aloft, somewhat similar to the way a giraffe does. Also notice that the tails are held suspended in the air. It wasn't very long ago when sauropods were portrayed with their tails lazily lying on the ground.

That pic is mind blowing & leaves me without doubt its meant to represent a dinosaur ! Maybe among the family descendants there is a story attached with that design ?

I think they are meant to be dragons, because right where the sun blotch is there is what appears to be a branch off like where wings would be. It's more noticable in one of the links MuFu, provided.

The one on the left actually looks a bit like a big cat about to pounce (figure the long thing is a tail and the head is hidden behind the bronto looking thing)

I think that there were definitely dinos on the earth until recently. In fact, Africa still has some that are alive today! (Mokele and Emela)

I think they found bones of Dinosaurs and sketched it, as it would look like it it was alive.
We even find almost complete dino bones right now, So we know how it looks like.
In China they believed in dragons because Dinosaurs bones where found, and at that time they didn't have any device to calculate how old the bones are. They thought that these bones where only a few years old, so believing they lived among us.
But about Africa???
They could really be something living their, I only beleive it if we get some good proof, or if I see it with my own eyes.

I think that the idea of dinosaurs still living is a really cool thought.
If crocodilians and turtles have survived for so long whats to say that a species or two of dinosaurs haven't.

You have to ask yourself if dinosaurs were around in the 15th century.

The one on the left? I was leaning towards the one on the right. The one on the left looks a like a cat. The long thin is the tail, his legs are crounched in a semi-pounce, and his head is hidden behind whatever the other thing is.

I agree, aquatus... the one on the left looks rather a lot like a cat preparing to pounce. It's a shame we can't see its head. Whether it's a cat or not, it looks somehow too agile to really seem right for a sauropod... although I admit that's a completely subjective feeling.
