Whilst discussing the Loch Ness creature, comments were made about unusual carcasses being found by ships or washed up on beaches.  There are hundreds of reports of strange shaped carcasses turning up some which can be explained, some which can't and some which seem to be of extinct creatures.  I'd like to hear your thoughts on the subject.

these sea creature carcasses seem to be the remains of whales or some other large fish, when a whale rots or breaks down the top of the head section breaks down slower than the rest of the head, as it made principaly out of cartalege (*sp) or some other hard fibrous material, where as the rest of it is not. This then makes it look as if it has a long neck and head, that is smaller than the body, giving the similarity to a pleisiosaur.
