Theres a book call the "Fabric of the Cosmos," which deals with this subject. I havn't read it, but it sounds interesting.

If its all and illusion, how is it possible to touch, taste, hear, feel objects. If light reflects and creates a hologram we all see then how is it we can pick up a piece off wood, turn on a saw, and cut it? I'm not really sure if reality is an illusion, it's not easy to realize as fact...

That's pretty interesting, I don't buy the whole thing, but something about it makes me think there's something to it.

Like when someone's staring at my back and I feel it, they are projecting their awarness at me and I'm detecting it with my awareness, somehow...

You people never heard of Plato's theories?
Dead_Man_Inc
I have heard of a theory similar to this. The theory says that in the real world, humans have been able to create a computer generated world so real, nobody could tell it apart from the real world. Also that each of the humans or any animals programed into the world can actually think for themselves (there are actually real programs like this today!).

What if we humans are all just a super realistic, thinking sub-program that is part of a bigger program in a more advanced world. It is a possibility because, like I said, we already have realistic, 3-D programs where each thing in that program actually thinks for itself, learns, and decides what it wants to do.

Like THE MATRIX?

But, we have been to outer space right? If it's true that this is all false, a sub-program, then this must be a mind blowingly huge program that has been created. So huge, that we haven't explored the whole the whole thing completely. And not jsut that we haven't properly explored earth, but what about space?

Besides, this is a really depressing idea. To think we have absolutely no reason to be here, that we have no purpose other than to live and die. dontgetit.gif

you know what? I am real, and you are't!
There is not a real person here at UM!!!!
I'm all alone in an illusionary world!! Hello?
Velikovsky
there is some real scientific evidence that reality is an illusion or a lie.
Descartes dealt with this and the only solution he could fall back on is God.
You just have to start thinking of everything in terms of energy including yourself. Then ask yourself in those terms how much difference is there between you and a rock.

I don't really get that post at all. I'm sure reality probablly is just an illusion, but that stuff about the actors and projectors just doesn't make sense. David Icke was easier to understand even though some of the stuff he said seemed to contradict it's self and seemed easily refutable.
I read somewhere that the simultaneous link between to particles was evidence of reality being a hologram. It was something about we think they are separate because of our viewpoint but when they're actually different sides to the same particle. It also said that this illusion comes from some kind of metaphorical warehouse and every particle is connected to every other particle.
It also mentioned an experiment done on rats where a part of their brains was removed but showed no loss of memory. Even when their memory was stored in that part of their brains before the removal.
I posted a link in a new topic that also comes to the same conclusion.

can someone please break this down for me, im havin a hard time grasping it, im thinking like to myself which i did a post on earlier, does it have to do with like everything around u being created by urself, and imagination?? can somone please explain this in further detail thanx guys

Sorry, but a book called, The Holographic Universe came out in 1991, which has a very similar theory. Go here to read some about it.

I would highly recommend Fabric of the Cosmos. Great, great book.

I'm sorry but after reading that I think my IQ dropped a bit. huh.gif
That paragraph didn't make much sense at all. They are talking about how everything is like projectors and holograms then it goes on about actors...
and obviously this person didn't check for spelling and grammar errors, which made it hard to fallow.

Interesting, but odd. Never thought about life like that way.
