I saw Identity last night.
I thought it was actually a pretty good story, with some juicy twists throughout. Not too keen on the ending though. As with all horror/thriller movies, it had a few heart in mouth moments. Of course I wasn't affected by these whatsoever. |
Tommy, I was wondering if you meant the movie where
John Cusack and Ray Liotta (among others) end up at the same
hotel on the same night? I have seen previews of that and I'd really
like to see it ~ especially since reading your take on it.

IT is one of Stephen Kings best, it's a long read but worth it.Like Halo said, let us know what you think when you've read it!

Aye, i agree "The Ring" is one scary mofo movie, I went to see it at the cinema with some freinds and all the girls could not sleep that night lol. The Exorcist scared me, mainly because i was around 10 when my mum rented it for me. Prolly the scariest movie ive seen, was on Pay TV (Austar) in australia about 2 years ago, i eventually tapped it when i re-ran it was entitled "Alien Abduction" it was a blair witch style movie where a camcorder was found in this family's house and the movie is that tape, its at thanksgiving and they are all gathered and they hear an explosion and lights go out they venture down to the power box and then see more sparks from a transformer they witness a landed UFO and get spotted by greys (who look and act really kool) and one of em gets shot in the hand by a laser the next hour consists of them inside the house trying to keep the greys out, eventually they get in and abduct them all, Im not easy to scare, normal horror dosent affect me but this is a different style, When aliens are brought into the equation i get freaked, i recoocment this to anyone if they can find it, i have it on tape i should rip it and get it on divx or something. Really really scary

Bah. The Ring was overhyped.
I can't really think of a scary movie as a whole right now, but Robert Blake's Mystery Man role in David Lynch's "Lost Highway" was pretty freaky.
The Mothman Prophecies gets my vote too.

Signs.
The scene that sealed it was that grainy footage of the alien taken during the birthday party.
The Blair Witch Project is a close second.

Anybody remember The Changeling?
George C Scott, late nineties early eightees. No gore or people running round screaming or anything but the scariest film I've ever seen - on top of which it's supposedly based on true events.

What do you guys think the scariest movie ever is? It would be nice if it was a true story as well, otherwise it just is hard to be scared by it.
I was probably most scared by The Exorcist, because at the time, I thought it was based on a true story, actually I have thought that until just recently when I actually did some hardcore researching and found otherwise.
I still say The Exorcist 1 is the scariest movie I have ever seen though, because even if it wasn't based on a true story, the movie makes it look quite real and makes you think that it could really happen.
The Shinning is 2nd on my list thats very close.. then silence of the lambs

The Exorcist.
When I was a bit younger I tried watching it, and I just couldn't. And I still had nightmares for weeks.

I know all you big, brave (and scarier) people will laugh but The Ring scared the crap out of me. I made the mistake of watching it alone late at night because I couldn't sleep. Well after that there was absolutely no sleep for this chickadee! I was even freaked by having to take a shower before I got ready for work.
Yes that movie scared me

They sould make an Exorcist video game. I'll be Father Merin. Your mission on lvl 1. Find a cross, but watch out for possesed babies or giant axes.
That would be awesome, and in a boss fight, the possesed guy covers you in green pea soup.
