Does any complications, errors, system problems usually occur when running multiple programs such as these:

Norton Anti-Virus
Spy Sweeper
BlackICE
Spyware Doctor

I'm having a major advert crisis. Anyone heard of these SAHagent and adroar?
They are infecting folders that I can't even see. I've enabled hidden folders to appear yet I can't find folders like HKCU which adroar is currently "hiding" in.

There are times when I can't even type in Internet Explorers text fields and forms. Such as the one i'm writing in right now. I turned off Spy Sweeper and it seems to have been interferring with iexplorer... ph34r.gif and it should be helping me out not creating more problems.

I think I'm gonna go insane with these advertisements. wacko.gif

SAHagent ... ag

I had that a while ago, couldn't get rid of it. Then I reset my computer, that got rid of it quick enough.

Did you mean reboot? As in completely removing all files from the hard drive(s)?

Well I deleted parts of its files, and it seems to have collapsed its lauching sequence. Basically I don't see it's process on Windows Task Manager.

Yet there's all these other adverts like Adroar that's completely hidden from a regular user like me. Unless I used Spyware Doctor but you'd have to register and pay for it, which I can't because I don't have a Visa yet.

Are there any other ways of getting past this without the big software mumbojumbo?

I have had major problems running Norton anti virus with Spy doctor so i got a full version of spy sweeper (downloaded) and Mcafee Virus centre (downloaded) they work really well together clears all viruses and spyware i have had so far.

There's no conflict between IE and Spyware detection. There must something else affecting your computer. If your drive is not defragmented and you have too much Internet stuff in your cache, that would slow down the Spyware and accesing web pages etc.

Thanks for the replies... I'll see what I can do.

you can stop any program from starting automatically when you start your computer!
if you open the file "AUTOEXEC.BAT" that you can find in your C directory and remove everything in it most adware programs will probably stop executing when you start your computer, if that doesnt work you can check the autostart folder in your windows start menu then write the command "msconfig" in the run window, then select the Autostart tab and uncheck any programs that you dont want to start automactially (you should check the path to the file beafure so you know its not a program like Norton Anti Virus!), like if you uncheck "msnmsgs.exe" msn messenger wount start automatically anymore!

Then just reboot the computer and enjoy!!

or... you might remove windows completely and install linux instead thumbsup.gif

PS.
AUTOEXEC.BAT is probably hidden and it wount show even when you select "Show hidden files", but if you open notepad click open and browse to the C drive then type autoexec.bat and click open, you will be able to edit it, when you are done just click save! original.gif

Thanks for that advice. I'll check the programs listed in the autostart folder asap. thumbsup.gif

also, if you go to run and type "regedit" or "regedt32" (be careful, this is kinda the 'guts' of the operating system so you can mess things up, but still useful if you don't just start randomly deleting things)

Then Navigate down to these places and check if any suspect programs are running from there:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

look in those folders and if you see a key value that looks suspicious you can Export it and then delete it. The Exported file you can double click later if it was something you want to put back it'll just put it back when you double click it.

Don't go deleteing or changing anything else in the registry though, and I'm not responsible if you break it tongue.gif
