The site loads extremely slow to those with dial up connection if signatures are too big. Avatars dont really effect the posts loading, so that is why the limit is larger for them (as far as i know). Another reason for the limit on signatures is that quite some time ago, there was no limit, this became a problem. Sigs were enormous and pointless, there were also some people who put their life story (or what seemed like it) in their signatures which is also why there is a carecter limit for signatures. SaRuMaN fixed the problems by implimenting and enforcing the limits.

which will fit in the dark middle centre of the banner, and then the black morphed into the pic I have uploaded below on the far right. It would be great if you could morph the colours to blend in with the blackness in-between my avatar and the pic on the right of the banner, I do not know if that is possible but I would love it if you can. If my avatar is not high enough to match the hight of the banner then add a black frame around it
