i think it looks like a tiger eating an alagator, not croc, but i cant be sure unless i get a closer look, also looks like it died from starvation. but that wouldnt make sence, unless it died from sickenss and somone fed the alagator to the tiger...

If you look at the tiger,it is in a humping position. It is grabbing onto the croc and laying on it's back while gripping it's neck. But I may be wrong, maybe the tiger is eating the croc, odd position though, must be at a zoo.Wierd pic nonetheless.BTW,I'm not sick minded,I'm just stating what the pic looks like.

Wow, tough zoo if they feed critters to each other like that...
As for whether it is eating it or not, it is hard to say. I have a cat that does that same thing to a stuffed Scooby Doo when he is feeling a little...
amourous...so I don't know. I guess we shouldn't dis the poor cat if he is in love...
So what would the kids look like?

i definately think its eating the alagator from all that stuff that looks like blood all over its face
Canadian Rottweiler
Oct 15 2004, 06:25 AM
The reason I don't really think it's eating it is because of how the back of the croc is stretching, their backs are rock hard and plated.Even a tiger's teeth could not stretch it like this.
bloodmoon
Oct 15 2004, 07:00 AM
alagator, and crock hides are made up of scales, and the skin between it, the scales are hard yes, but the skin between it is flexable, and if you look at the alagator, it looks emaciated, if somthing is starving the skin will be more stretchable, because theres less fat to take up room.
not to mention the blood on the tigers face.
Canadian Rottweiler
Oct 15 2004, 07:05 AM
I see what you mean, but that tiger is seemingly stretching the croc's plates like an elastic band.I just don't see how it can stretch it so far,it doesn't seem possible.Have you seen the commercial about a guy putting a cover on his car to make it look like a piece of crap so nobody will steal it?Then at the end he pulls it off to show the new car again, then drives off.I think it's an ad for Honda. It looks like that, but the skin is stretching instead. It looks fake.BTW,you spelled Alligator wrong a bunch of times.

wanna know somthing funny?
so i'm walking to the dining hall today and i figured i'd pick up a magazine to read while i ate, so i walked into the store and the only thing on the shelf that interested me was MAXIM (new issue has a really hot picture of Avril Lavigne on the cover) so i flipped through and guess what i see, this picture, but from a different angle.
I was intrigued so i read about it, The lion in the picture killed a deer and left it for her cubs to eat, but it was stolen by a crocodile. Later the lion attacked this crocodile (whether it was revenge for the deer is unkown obviously) but what is strange is that lions don't attack crocodiles. Anyway, the fight lasted about an hour and a half as it says in maxim and ended with a fatal chomp to the neck of the croc, depicted here.
Thats the story of this picture.

Huh,that's cool.Good find.

Oct 15 2004, 07:35 AM
its a tiger, not lion, and yes tigers can kill their prey with a bight to the back of the neck, it breaks the neck.
that story doesn't seem to make any sense though, the killing bite would have to be the neck not the skin, and i am pretty sure an alligator(

) has a neck thats to big for the killing neck bite. maxim might have made the story up, or maybe not, if its real, then thats a very interesting story.
p.s. on a personal level, i think crock vs tiger, would end up with the tiger being the looser.
Canadian Rottweiler
Oct 15 2004, 07:38 AM
I would agree. The croc would crush the tiger.Unless the tiger bit the croc's stomach first. But this will probably not happen in the wild.

i just checked my magazine it was a female tiger, you're right.
and nope, didnt make it up, the tiger won, i wouldve put my money on the tiger because alligators are slow and female tigers are vicious

Interesting and very unusual story.

Oct 15 2004, 07:48 AM
the croc is low to the ground, and a lot faster then you would thing, with somthing like 12000 pounds per square inch biting power, and a tail that can nreak bones, my moneys on the crock, tigers are quick true, but if the crock got ahold of its leg, it would tear it right off with a death roll. the worst a tiger could really do is cut the crock up, and it would not be easy with the crocks thick hide, the only way i can see the tiger killing the crock is if it gets it in a throat hold, BUT, crocks can hold their breath for a long time, and if it got the throat bite the crock would go into a death roll and throw it off.

hands down crock
justfound20bucks
Oct 15 2004, 07:50 AM
well you just lost your money!!! cause the tiger won, probably because the croc was so bewildered that the tiger actually had the balls to attack him, classic david versus goliath.

Oct 15 2004, 07:53 AM
if you look at the crock it looks emaciated, thats most likely why it came onto land to scavenge, it was most likely sick and or weak
justfound20bucks
Oct 15 2004, 07:59 AM
i think the reason it looks emaciated is because it just had a hour and a half fight with a tiger and lost
bloodmoon
Oct 15 2004, 08:04 AM
emaciated: very thin especially from disease or hunger or cold; it would take weeks, even months for a crock to become emaciated.
justfound20bucks
Oct 15 2004, 08:09 AM
true, wasnt sure what emaciated meant and i guessed, maybe the croc was emaciated but maybe it was just a normal crock and got its ass kicked. who knows. the only way to find out is to arrange a fair fight between a female tiger and a unemaciated crocodile and see who wins.
Then again maybe the croc would win because the tiger had no motive or drive to attack the croc so it would be fighting a fight that it didnt want any place in, theres many ins and outs to this scenario. Oh well, who cares, cool picture.

yes, the pic was published in MAXIM magazine.
reading the story i can say the tiger attacked the croc just for pride and anger.

Actually, alligators and crocs are pretty slow on land. Their short legs and massive body doesn't allow them to be maneuverable or fast and they usually tire themselves quickly. They have to drag their body and this wastes alot of energy... So it's very likely the tiger outplayed and outlasted the alligator...

Not true,Tigers are not afraid of Crocodiles. I was watching the Animal Channel once, and they were showing a Tiger bitting a big ass Crocodile on his neck. I was surprised as you are, Tigers are strong hunters.

I saw this pic from a different angle in a recent magazine. Apparently, the alligator had stolen kill from the tiger. Later, the tiger attacked the alligator and they battled for over an hour. This, was the killing blow for the tiger. Story came from a wildlife photographer.

when i said they are faster then you think i ment they can swing their head and bite pretty quick, and their tale strikes are very strong, and pretty fast, and the sites im looking at say they can run up to 25 miles per hour, but ill go with 10 mph to make it fair, which is still pretty quick.

I would say the critter is dead. Its front foot is twisted, its face is discolored and its skin is way to lose; mainly around the stomach. The tiger just seems to have come across a huge free meal!
