Coincidence: The occurrence of events that happen at the same time by accident but seem to have some connection.
I've just recently noticed the amount of coincidence in my life. It seems that everything that happens to me corresponds with my over-all purpose or goal in life. I was wondering if anybody here has a way of taking these coincidences and making more out of them then just shrugging them off as some "by-chance" sort of thing. I was thinking that I could take some information out of it that I'm completely missing.
That goes the same for dreams too. I often try to figure out the meaning of my dreams, but I end up just having an over-all opinion of why I had the dream, instead of breaking it down further and figuring out every little detail. I am very interested in getting where I need to be spiritually, and it would help me more if I had a better understanding of these occurrences.
I never take any instant for granted, but I do often shrug it off after a while if I haven't made any progress on analyzing it. It may seem that I'm reading to far into this, but I could go on for days about this kind of stuff. I would be interested to hear some of your point of views on the subject, as well as your experiences with coincidences and dreams and how it has changed your life.
BTW, I realize there might be many topics just like this, but I want to keep a general interest in this subject (seeing that it is unexplained and very mysterious.)

IF this is something your intrested in..... then i highly recommend "Celestine Prophecies".... Excellent book!!! I have recommended it here before. It definately hits the nail on coincidences and why it is important NOT to just brush them of.

Mystify,
Actually I have read just about everyone of James Redfield's books, including the "Celestine Vision". He writes some good stuff. I like how he puts his beliefs and notions into great stories. It wouldn't hurt to pick up the celestine prophecy and read it again, although it is pretty clear in my mind.

I must admit.... i couldn't put it down at the time and it truly opened my eyes to many things...you could say I almost owe my life to it. Since then i've always found holding the vision he speaks of difficult at times. Mind you everytime i do think about thins in his perspective all of a sudden i feel good. So it's a constantly nice reminder.
That being said... as you can see i quite enjoyed it and recommend it and the others to everone.

I read the 'Celestine Prophecy' late last year and found that at times I was
exhilarated and at others absolutely incredulous... some things he speaks
of make perfect sense, but other stuff just makes you wonder what kind of
drugs he was taking at the time...
I agree with the aura/energy field theory and have seen the auras of trees,
people and other stuff too, but that's as far as I went. Lol.

LB,
I was thinking that when you are a child it is easier to see these auras because your perception isn't tainted by society and all it's typicalness. I remember seeing auras around buildings, people and other objects when I was younger.
I think the most significant thing I picked up from the book was that bit about control-drama. It made perfect sense. I can tell that lots of people still have their childhood control-drama, and use it constantly without really noticing.

Hey MC I don't know if this is the sort of thing you are talking about but here goes...
A few years back my friends marriage broke up her X did not take this to well and did nasty and horrible things to her friends . Me however he did not attack directly . Instead he abused my then 5 year old publicly swearing at him and accusing him of some really terrible things. Needless to say I wont weep when this man dies ( In fact I wouldn't P**s on him if he was on fire) I did report him to the police because I believe he is a real nutcase . He moved away after a gentle push from the majority of the comunity(small towns are great like that).and has been gone for 2 years.
Today I was dropping my friends son off after work when I had a deja vu . There was a car in front of me and I got that bizzare feeling that I'd been there before , when I remembered a dream I had had that was exactly the same . In the dream I had parked behind the car at my friends house , and the affore mentioned nut case had gotten out. Well needless to say thats exactly what happened today.
I must say that I marveled for awhile over the fact that something had the for thought to warn me and have me mentally prepared for what could have been a nasty encounter.

Celestine Prophecies? Is that the same to or actually it the Celestial Prophecies? I know this book was named one of those.
Funny story about it though: Back when I was 20 in my 'druggie' time I was up for my longest stretch of 5 straight days on speed. Well I had figured out that aliens are in control and the town/bubble/earth-dome that I lived in was just a breeding ground for them, just like cattle is for us.
The real scary part aside from me actually believing this, was that I was the only one who knew! So after having crazy hallucinations all night driving around from place to place trying to hard, I headed to my mother's house. She left for work already. But as I went into her room there was the celestine/celestial prophecies book On Tape sitting there. So i popped that mofo in and started to listen to it. I have never listened it or read it again after that time. Due to the fact that other voices were comming out of the speakers as well. Basically trying to make a choice to kill the drugs or kill the aliens that are farming us.
So back to the coincidences and dreams.......The whole time was like a dream due mostly to the hullucinations and surreal + movie-like state. Coincidence that the events happened as they did? Or just a lucky break for me, as I chose to kill the drugs, cuz they dont have web surfing in prison for murderers as far as I know.

Wow, Kismit, that was a good warning!
How did it turn out? Did he try to talk to you
or act in a threatening way? Do you know
why he was even there?

I have dejavu all the time. Sometimes its just every day things and I go hey I have done this before. However, there have been several instances where I remembered early on that I had done something and therefore already knew what the consequence was going to be.
I also have dreams in connection with friends and aquaintances.
For example I dreamed that my friend had a death in his family. 2 days later his girlfriend had an abortion without tellin him.
In high school I dreamed a girl I cheered with was in a small plane wreck and ended up breaking her leg, 2 weeks later we put her up in the air in a cheerleading stunt and yup u guessed it she fell and broke her leg.
I also dreamed when I was married that I was single, due to some emotional drama from my husband. 6 mos later I left him, because it was becoming an abusal situation.
I have since had many weird forthcoming dreams and some have come true and some I know I am dreaming and do what I want. Well at least sometimes.
Not sure why, but I do know my father had an occurence in when he was in high school, he saw a girl and her face got hazy, he blacked out momentarily and came too. That night he dreamed she was murdered and was there when it happened, where and how, kinda like seeing it through the murder's eyes. He woke up and shrugged it off. 5 years later he was in boot camp and his mom sent him a newspaper with a story in it. She had been missing for 3 days and he already knew she was dead. He called home and found out that they finally found her body in the woods, slashed exactly the way my dad saw in the dream. BTW he was like 3,000 miles away at the time. 10 years later he went back to his home town and incidentally by chance ended up doing construction on the dead girl's father's house. EERIE.
So I wonder is it genetic?

KC ,
I am a natural pacifist but this guy knows that If he gets within 2 feet of me I will rip out his throat with my teeth and dance in his blood. He over stepped the mark when he picked on one of my kids . I think the warning was purely to keep him safe and give me time to gather sanity.
I don't believe in feeling threatened , being a red headed , Arien , born in the year of the Tiger , If you threaten me or my own you had better be ready to carry the concequences of your actions.
Well actually If you threaten me I'll probably just laugh and make you feel silly

But nobody messes with my kids.

My dreams are usually too wierd to take seriously. Too many dinosaurs, ghosts, aliens, things of that sort. I usually just take it down to having an overactive imagination. Or having major mental problems. Who knows.

I think that people look for coincidences is where they come from. They are only noticed on reflection as we try to explain something that we don't quite understand. It is a way for us to try to make sense out of occurance that sometimes don't make any sense.

Hey all,
well i've come to the end of my trip to the Greek islands. Oh well i'll be off again somewhere else soon......
I recently finished reading the Celistine Prophecy, and what a great read it was. Well i believe Coincidences in life all have a meaning and they all lead somewhere.
Before i moved to London certain things were occuring in my life in which i was able to see the pattern and where it was all leading me.it was weird
Now in London, and during my travels things have happened to me that have really made the Celistine Prophecy seem credible.
Ok.........!
When i first moved to London, a friend of mine, friend 1 who had already been there for 8 months met up with me. He gave me his mobile sim card since he had just purchased another one. I didnt need it so instead i gave it to another friend, friend 2. ( these 2 friends did'nt know eachother in Sydney) Just before i left for Greece friend 2 got an SMS from 2 girls who were trying to contact friend 1. Now friend 2 comes to me and says i know the girls who have been trying to contact friend 1 , i asked him what their names were, i also knew them. Friend 2 went out with one of the girls sisters!!! I was friends with the 2 girls back home! Friend 1, 2, me and the girls all met up at a bar and we had a great night. Now i dont know why this all happened like it did. Maybe so we could all come together. Or maybe it was because one of my female friends sister lives there and her husband has a hell of alot of contacts in different fields.....
Another, when i was travelling another friend from Syd was doing the same. However we had lost contact and i didnt know where he was. When we arrived in the Greek island of Ios he just happened to be staying next door!!!!! We had a great 3 nights together....weird.
My friend who im travelling with thought i was weird looking into these things until....yesterday when we were looking for a net cafe in Crete. He just happened to ask the people who were looking in the shut cafe, "is it shut?" they turned around and it was his good mate and this mates wife from Sydney......now thats freaky. 2 friends and couple looking for the same thing come together in the same spot and 3 them know eachother. I looked at him and said, do you believe now?
I think picking up the book celestine prophecy and reading it was a coincidence in itself. All these things were happening to me while i was reading it........
take care people...

Great story MR .X.,
mind you it can be quite common for people and areas to go through trends in travel . Your friends and there aquaintances may well have booked the same or similar holiday pakage deals . Still your story is quite eerie ..

Hey kismit,
How are you?
the funny thing is none of us booked any accommodation prior to arriving. When you arrive on the islands the locals approach you and ask you if you would like to stay in their hotel. I just happened to pick the same one as my friend...freaky

I don't believe in coincidence, (I know that this may sound strange, but I never had a reason to believe in coincidence please don't flame me about that). But I did have a dream about four or five years ago and when I got to work I found out that my dream had come true. I know that this sounds hoky but in my dream I saw a woman pick up a book and then turn it backwards to read the story plot. At the time I worked at Coles books as a stocker. And when I got back to work the following Monday the exact same book was gone, and on the pervious Friday there were two books.
