yah but i was wondering about alligators living in sewers, maybe for many years...

i mean there are stories of alligatos in new york swers and such...

i know they are thought to be urban legends, i just like the idea that it could happen...

Any alligator that did get in a sewer wouldn't survive for very long. The sewer would make a poor habitat for them. grin2.gif

well if they were down there from being very young, couldn't they adapt to the conditions?

i mean alligatos have been around miliions and millions of years and surely they've had to adapt to worse conditions...cold, heat etc..

Nope, I think they would die before they could adapt. Reptiles often need very specific conditions to survive. They need sunlight and many other things. A baby alligator is pretty fragile, they can't just live anywhere.

They survive in the sewers by eating all the flushed goldfish.
