Okay, i have absolutely no idea what this is about and how exactly it is caused. I have been attempting to pay attention to how i go asleep for a while now. I've been able to sort of stay awake and be asleep but concious. I could see any clear image infront of me, on my eyelids, practically dreaming, but will also be aware that i'm lying in bed.

Okay, thats might not be that weird but here is the actually weirdest and most confusing thing. When i start to drift of i'll get at a stage where my mind thinks of anything, not much control from me, and it will make perfectly sense on so many levels. However, when i suddenly wake up it will seem like the most stupidest and positively weirdest thing i could have think of and i wont be able to undesrtand how it made sense.

I can only remember what it was if i wake up immediatly from that, not after i have slept. I would tell you but every time i try to get the info of what i was thinking of into my long term memory but the info would have started to slip me and be gone in like 10seconds. blink.gif Leaves me pretty much confused.

Ah yeah, i know that there is probably some reasonab scientiffic explanation for this so don't hack me down.

Something similar happends to me before I get an OBE. So try to slip out of your body [ if you've never experienced one ] and it might work. I don't know how to explain the state, so thats all I can offer

heh i just have to say this before anythign else. my dog was sleeping with his eyes open last friday lol it was c.r.e.e.p.y! he was snoring and stuff but his eyes were wide open and didnt "wake up" and look around til we nus=dged him hard.. we'd been calling his name lol it was funny.

my friends like that though.. it made perfect sense when she was dreaming but them *poof* utter craziness...

At last, I can talk about a related personal experience on this website! You kinda don't fit in too well on this site if you've never seen a ghost! tongue.gif

I've been told by lots of folk on numerous occasions that I sleep with my eyes open, not particuarly "staring in amazement" type of open, just normal type. The first time I was told I was like "yeah, right!" but less than a month later someone else mentioned the same thing and it went form there. It's now been about 6 or 7 times that I've been told (it would be far more if you consider the fact that not a lot of people are there with you sleeping, and if they are it's usually pitch black cool.gif ) and I think now I can recognise when I'm in this state.
Sometimes, when I'm drifting off to sleep, I can have my eyes open but I'm almost in a dream-like state, so I don't realise this, until a door is opened/noise is made and I come back to my senses. I always immediately know that I never had to open my eyes to "wake up", I'm really just coming out of this semi-concious state.

It's weird but it's pretty frequent and I'm sure other people must know what I'm on about.

Or else I've gone mad... tongue.gif

yer i used to notice that a bit last year but i noticed i could see evrything so i shut them again tongue.gif

i have been told uite a fair bit (creepily enough) that i can blink sideways wacko.gif like i dont mean to but i do.. like a clear layer goes across...

creeepy.... wacko.gif wacko.gif wacko.gif

Something similar happened at myhouse butwith a human instead of a dog. My younger brother had a friend sleep over one time. They had been playing ps2 all night, and apparently my brother fell alseep near the ps2 and the friend on the couch. I woke upin the middle of the night. I hear him snoring, and I looked right too him and Hiseyes were WIDE open, as if he had no eyelids...very wide open. But he was asleep. That was creepy as hell. scared.gif

Weird stories going on in here. I'm a common sleeper (I think) Except for the fact that most things I dream about have a meaning in real life and sometimes portray the future

w00t.gif Seriously wow, i'll try what magnet said about the OBE. I've never actually tried it but i think i might have once accidently had one.

Just to be sure this is not a coincidence or anything i'll mention it here, I mentioned it once before but didn't get any response from it so here goes,

I was starting to wake up when i was, i think, between the verge of being awake and concious. I knew i was starting to wake up but could still see any clear image i wanted to on my eyelids. Anyways, suddenly i just sort of floated up and started speeding along the houses hallway and throughout the house. Funny thing was that it was really really bright when i did it and when i woke up the whole house sort of appeared dull.

Is this an OBE or some part of a quick dream. As far as i'm concerned you can't really start dreaming until your on a certain stage in sleep so i'm a little confused with this one as well. thumbsup.gif Thanks for the response though

I think anyone can sleep with their eyes open as soon as they learn how to ignore the fact that your getting info from your eyes.

When you stare at an object for ages you'll start to see black blotches around your peripheral vision and after a while, if you can manage, in your pinpoint clear vision eyething(Sorry, i though of forgot what it is called). I think your brain realises it doesn't need the image infront of you anymore and therefore gets rid of it since there is other things it needs to store. However if you start to become to concious of the fact everything starts to clear up or if you move your eyes since there is something new and interesting to look at.

I don't know about the bright part but everything else sounds like an OBE. Be careful about looking at yourself lying in bed though. You'll think you're dead and creep out...Or if you don't think you're dead, it's still a horrible thing if you're not used to it. Also, don't try to go through walls until you're comftarble being in an OBE [well, you can try, but let me explain], some people get stuck in them, like one of my friends and freaked out, and went back to his body. Try to look in any angle while you're at it, it's really cool. I cannot control dreams [except once I could, but it wasn't an OBE], but I can control OBE's to answer your question

lol, the bright part is where your vision is centred. Where everything appears clear. Unlike your peripheral vsion ther is more something cells squashed together to give you a really good image.

Don't worry, you'll snap right back the moment you freak out, and it never happened to me...Sorry if I scared you, I just wanted to warn you of some things. If you find things out of place, like furniture, it's not really a big deal
arwenpotter
well i can control my dream like i think and stuff in my dream.. sometimes i know im dreaming and can like see things... go places.. its funny, becoz your dreaming there are no limits..

one thing though i used to have nightmares now i dont. but for soem odd reason in my nightmares wot scares me is things getting bigger.. its a wierd feelign... really REALLY hard to explain.. n i dont know why one arth id be scared of thigns getting bigger...
Magnet
Sounds really fun to control your dream. I could only do it once, when I was aware that I was dreaming, yet I was in this other 'dimension'. I talked to people, and walked to places until I snapped back
arwenpotter
hehe cool.

PsiSeeker what you might be expieriencing is a W.I.L.D., or wake induced lucid dream. pretty much like entering a lucid dream directly from a concious state.
arwenpotter
but then... thats not really lucid dreaming then is it?? coz you're awake... huh.gif blink.gif wacko.gif

lol whoa confusing

W.I.L.D. might get close to explaining it. What was reeeeaaaallllyyyy freaky, from one of my crazy experience, was something to do with weetbix. lol, i wasn't even hungry. It was the only info i could extract. Erm, some is coming back know. I was in a really weird galxy and there was a high shelf or somethin like that that had it on it. Weird?
arwenpotter
haha yer i hate the telletubbies disgust.gif i have my reasons original.gif

weetbix?? lol!! my brother eats it everyday for breakfast.. you think he'd get sick of it honestly
