What is cool about this picture is that since the Earth is round, that picture is a nice blend of several pictures, considering when it is dark here, its like daytime in the Middle East. Just something stupid I was thinking about.

It's strange that it has been asked twice why it is night everywhere, yet it hasn't been asked how a single picture can be taken of the entire surface of a round world.

To reiterate what (Raven)p.e. said, this is not just one picture, but dozens(perhaps even hundreds) of pictures taken when it is night in their respective locations. So these are different pictures, taken at different times, put together like a puzzle to create an excellent picture of the world at night. Nothing mysterious about that

whoah...that one little dot over there in ohio. That's me..because i glow. Something about me and lightning bugs and being out of food. I forget how it all happened, but it's neat to see myself in this picture...that was a good time.
