I'm well aware Doom was made after. I owned both of them when they came out.

Which is why Doom is better.

In thinking of buying an Atari system with tons of games off eBay, but I don't trust it will work. I'm also buying anyother NES system because the two I have already don't work. Anyone know how I might go about fixing them?

My two favorite way-old-school games of all time were River City Ransom and Rescue: the Embassy Mission, both for the original Nintendo system.

RCR because you could beat up members of other games with weapons ranging from brass knucks, 2 by 4s, chains, trashcans, and tires even.

Rescue because you first get to sneek your team of men into position around a building held by terrorists. then, you snipe through the windows, and rapple men through the windows, and it then goes into first-person mode as you clear out the entire building of terrorist/ninjas (sure, it was CRUDE first person, but dang, that was pretty advanced thinking for an original Nintendo!!)

My fav old school video game is . . . Pacman . . . spent hours at the arcade playing that game.

My parents still have and (try) to play my old NES. It blinks alot now . Of course Super Mario was my favorite, and I liked one called adventure island also. But, tetris was also grand!

Desert storm, Shinobi and Merc's are three of the many old school games I loved playing.
