I noticed a lot of video game threads on here and I decided to start my own. I Remember when I was growing up, I would play on the Sega Genesis or the Nintendo for hours on end. My favorite Nintendo games were Ninja Turtles, Metroid and of course the entire Mario series. As for Sega, I liked Mortal Kombat, and Sonic the hedgehog. Sonic is my favorite video game series of all time. I have beaten every sonic game at least a couple of times. I remember watching the cartoon too. i also have the Sonic movie. Anyway, Sonic is the man!!! Super and Hyper Sonic were cool too! I also liked Pacman a lot. Anyway, what are your favorite games fo the old school?

I started with the Nintendo, and ended up owning a massive library of over 150 games, including all the Marios, Turtles, Castlevanias, Duck Tales, Metal Gears, etc etc etc. More games than i can remember.
I loved Castlevania 2: Simons Quest the most i think. The first true RPG! But nothign beats the original Mario for oldskoolness of course. The version of NES i got came with the double cart Mario/Duck Hunt and the Lazer Gun!
But dude, how could your forget the King of the oldskool games, ZELDA??

Later i moved up to Sega Mega Drive (also called Genesis in NA) and owned close to 60 games including all the sonics (Sonic Spinball, Sonic 3D blast, Sonic and Knuckles etc etc.) Jurassic Park was awesome i remember, but i LOVED ToeJam and Earl!!

Mario just kicked some serious ass. Honestly, if it weren't by him, I wouldn't be playing videogames (the honor goes specially to Super Mario World).

Also... Monkey Island. I LOVE IT!!! And Sonic also kicked ass

There is a thing called Console Classix, where youi can play NES and Atari games on your computer.
go to downloads.com and get it
TooFarGone
Oh, Mario was and still is the bomb
BurnSide
You're a little behind the times man. They've been around for years.

I have NES, SNES, GENESIS, MASTER SYSTEM, PS and N64 emulators on my computer, able to download any game for those emulators and play them.
TooFarGone
No, but this, you download the thing, creat an account and you play em online,. Obviously I know about roms.My friend has an obbsession with SNES rpgs
BurnSide
So whats the difference between this 'download and play games' to the emulation 'download and play games'?
TooFarGone
With the thin i mention, You download the 2mb server thing, and thats it. You creat an account, and play the games over the net. No more downloading required
BurnSide

AutumnDragon
my favorite old skool game waz donkey kong 1 for SNES. it was my first game.
neo cloud 8900
Yes, donkey kong was awesome. But do you know wat is the worst old skool game? The michael jackson game.
OneEye
They made a Michael Jackson game?! What idiot thought that up? What do you do, see how many little kids you can touch in thirty seconds and how far over the balcony you can hold the baby before you drop it?
BurnSide
Believe it or not OneEye, Michael Jackson wasn't always a freak. He used to be a black teen heart throb, a legend.

That been said... in the Michael Jackson's Moonwaker game... umm...

Well. Basically. You play as Michael Jackson, beating up baddies with girly kicks and yells. You can perform a special dancing move to 'Smooth Criminal' while making all the baddies dance and then fall over, dead. It was kinda neat, in a way. There was a graveyard level with zombies and stuff.

But, well, the objective of the game left something foreshadowed... MJ had to save little girls and boys who would scream 'Oh Michael' when he... touched them...
Deimos
yeah, Mike was a pimp back in the '80s. He got wierd when he turned himself white, but his musci was still cool, however, I lost respect for him after this recent scandal. disgust.gif
the_skeptic_guy
the best all time old school game is wolfenstien 3d it was banned in germany i assume you can guess why
