I know quite a few of you are from Scotland. I am trying to get information for my little sister. She is currently going to school to become a veterinarian but there is so many prerequisites that are required in the states. She was told that the same prerequisites are not required overseas. This would cut her time in half to get to where she needs to be. If there is any information any of you could give us as far as cost of living, schooling, housing, jobs, etc. it would be greatly appreciated.

hey 2 of my friends are stufying to become vets at glasgow uni, they love the course.

Its a very old, very good university , for an american the living rates would be very cheap and she would be entitlited to live in the student accomodations.

most courses cos around 1250 a year here in scotland however everyone in scotland is allowed 5 years of fully paid education from the government , i dont know where they stand of foreign students, check out the www.saas.gov.uk web site , theyll give you a lot of information on funding etc, teh niversity themselves will give you all the info on housing etc.

Oh and she should know that Glasgow is a great city with the best nightlife and shopping outside of London.

Glasgow Uni has a great Uni , its in the west end of the city which is a very student orientated area.

It wold be a good choice and is the most respected uni in glasgow there are 5 in total, oh i go to Glasgow Caledonian .

The veternarian that she works for knows someone that is going there now from the states and informed her of it. Also, she is not doing so well in calculus and genetics.

well the two lasies i know there love it, they get a lot of field work as well aparently which seemingly all trainee vets enjoy, although the idea of sticking my hand up a cow's arse regularley doesnt appeal to me each to their own lol.

I have a couple of friends and a cousin who studied at Glasgow Uni and I have heard nothing but great reports about it. They had a blast and it is a very good Uni. Living costs are much lower than say in London and culturally and socially the city has blossomed. A great choice!

They are all correct about Glasgow. I've not studied there personally, but my brother did for 4 years, I used to go to visit him. It's a good city!!

Glasgow is a great city. I go up once a fortnite to visit my boyfriend. I'm moving up after xmas as my college course starts end of january. The nightlife is magic.
