Hey guys, I was just wondering if any of you have ever had a random experience like so:

About 30 minutes ago, I was sitting in my room, surfing this site. Listening to music on my computers audio manager (Itunes). When suddenly the music froze at a pitch (like when a game skips and the music goes slowly) and then a massive shock of some sort of energy went through my body leaving me in shock.

It was weird because I was reading a topic in this forum related to energy....

Just a tiny experience. Anyone have this before? Anyone know if I'm rather:

-Crazy
-it was some sort of unexplained force
-some sort of wave
-electrical
-I'm just plain high

Was there any particular feeling in your hands or fingers eg. numbness, tingling, etc?

It was more of...how do I put it, throughout my whole body. It was more in my chest than in my limbs. Thought I was going to die...for a second anyway.

Interesting. It could have been a mechanical flaw, youknow with the wiring. But, You mention not whether you had headphones or not. If you were not wearing headphones, then there is an interesting explanation in store for you. original.gif

This happens to me sometimes. You were probably startled, and your heart jumped...

I studied this in Physics a few years ago...the prolonged effects of certain pitches and such. We all know that, for example, the pitch of fingernails scratching on a chalk board can make everyone cover there ears because it's almost painful to hear that sound, and if a pitch is high enough, it can break or crack glass. Well, we actually performed experiments with different pitches on each of 4 people (two guys and two girls)...on specific pitches, one of the girls nose bled!! Another made one of the guys have goosebumps...and one pitch, as one of the girls explained, made her feel like she couldn't breath, like her nervous system had frozen for a moment. There were a lot of other interesting results, but bottom line, if the pitch was specific to you feeling like you were having a "heart attack" then that's very possible.

Could of been. But its never happened to me before. And this computer is 2 years old, along with the monitor.

You do have a few good points there. But why did the computer itself get affected?

.....this sre does sound weird like you got shocked/electricuted or some crap like that.
girty1600
I get that once in awhile but, my electrical components are sub-standard
firefemme1202
Computers short all the time...when dealing with electricity, nothing's perfect, if it was, people wouldn't get kicked off all the time off dial up connections lol.
Mentalcase
Every once and a while, I get this weird sensation in my ears, like a humming/popping feeling. I think it is related to the computer.

Sorry, reading this topic just made me think of that, it happens all the time. Alomst like my ears are ready to explode. It actually have to get up and walk around for abit to clear my head.

Fire hit it dead on, certain sounds can cause different reactions to different people. Your brain wants your body to do something else but the sound waves are almost controlling you.

I've had two sensations like this before.

1. I was little and was plugging in a power strip that was turned on but not plugged in. My hand was on the prong, and when I plugged it in I lost control of my body, did a rapid jolt, and then felt shocked for several seconds.

2. I was sitting at the table at my Dad's house about 4 months ago, at about 1:30 at night playing with my redone old-PC. (Formatted, then reinstalled XP.) We are almost positive the spirit of my dad's girlfriend's mother still resides in the house, since there have been strange phenomina and unexplainable sounds, as well as her death being instant, painless, and unexpected. The rocking chair that was barely in the night started rocking very slowly (no cats were there or anything) and then I felt a strange coldness followed by a huge jolt and sick feeling. Upon speaking with my uncle, he verified it as a spirit passing through me.

I think I just realized what it was. I was scanning through google for images. I clicked on an image to bring it to a page (like all of them do) with its site in a temporary Iframe. I clicked the image and hit back. I was at the site long enough to ear music come from the site. (had to be that circus loud crap) and I immediately felt a sensation throughout my body. Weird...very.
Method
Glad you figured it out.
Wild_Woman
yeah that happens to me sometimes. i feel all funny, like i've got to do or say something, but don't know what. it happened a few days ago and is really annoying. or maybe this is nothing like what you felt. Maybe it's something completely different.
