Well actually, its not one of my better days, i look a wee bit wind swept, or to put it nicely, i look like i been dragged threw a hedge backwards..

I had to laugh, I went on a call today for a 74 year old woman with chest pains; I went in with the paramedics and was helping the best I could. Being a very small town, everyone knows everyone else. The patient knew both of the paramedics for decades as they had all lived in the same town together. As the paramedics were getting an IV started in order to get her medicines flowing, I offered to hold her hand while they where poking here arm to get the catheter in as it can be rather painfull for older folks with thin veins.

Considering that she was having a mild heart attack, she was in rather good form. She asked me who I was as she had not seen me on the fire department before; I told her my name and that I was new. She then mustered every bit of charm she could and said "Well hell, if I'd have known that getting sick would get me a hunky young man to hold my hand, I would have had a heart attack years ago..."


She did just fine, and we took her to the hospital and they took care of her rather well; She will need a couple days of rest and some medicine to keep her heart going normally, but no big deal.

It was a wonderful day.

Yep, I can also play it sideways, with a flourish. Then I go into a medley of Bing Crosby favorites. All the time wearing a purple zoot suit and a Dr. Seuss hat.
