i dont really like rapiers, they look too flimsy. and wheres the intimidation, nothing like what you can get from a long sword, battle swords or two handed swords. or the Falcata on that site. now thats intimidating. the haliberd (sp) is also very intimidating.

Hey, im kinda late gettin to this forum, srri bout that. Im gunna try and find a pic for u all. l8er dayz.

halberds are ugly weapons, i prefer more elegant weapons capable of elegant movements like the katana, once you become acustomed to handling the weapons for slicing and not hacking you'll find it alot more easy to use, long swords and claymores and the like, are just to barbaric for me.

Skalra63 - Believe me Rapiers are plently intimidating and are definately not flimsy! I have one, i know. You must remember that rapiers came about because gunpowder made heavy armour obsolete, and it became the quickest swordsman who won. I must admit tho that i do prefer the heavier (earlier) weapons like the broadsword and the two handed flameberge which has to be my favourite (will be buying one soon!).

Blood Angel - although i like Katanas i just don't find them so asthetically pleasing as western swords - dunno why, just my taste i suppose. Halberds i also really like, and although some weapons seem more elegant, that does you no good if you can't reach the person your fighting and with the leverage you can get from a Halberd it is possible to slice a man in half. Again even the most ungainly weapon can look elegant if wielded by a skilled user

skarla63 a samurai swird is a katana, its their name for it, and perhaps the most finely crafted blades in the world, hand sharpened, not stone whell haprened like the western blades.
