Just Fate


You say it was just fate
That your choice was made
You stare into an empty space
It's just fate.
Your life
Your talents
All chance in infinite way.
No secrets here
No stories to still be told.
Walking down a shoreline
In the mist of a storm
Tranquility is right at your door.
But all this beauty
In front of you is just chance?
All by fate nothing was decided
It just happened in a blink of an eye?
In the northern country
The stars shine bright
Away from the city
You see the light.
You watch in wonder
At the beauty you see
How can this be?
The steps you trend
In the desert
Covered by the wind
In light time gone by
In the deep red of the evening.
Just fate you tell me
Just fate - I question all your words.
A crevasse in mountain
Of this life
Purple and blue
All night long.
Just fate?
With your analytical mind
You question everything
When it is all so clear
Can't you just believe once in your life
It wasn't fate I tell you
It wasn't chance
That you are here today
Next to me
I'll tell you
It wasn't fate
It was not chance
It was hope
And it was joy
Can you stand to believe?
Is it just fate?
Or something more?
