I'm back gang.....
What a horrible time we had, well it goes like this....
We got there parking out side the grave yard as we always have for the past four years, we had a word with the police there as there where alot of car's there full of people wanting to catch a glimpse of Alan, and of course the tv crew.
So we told the police we had already phoned to ask kindly if we could sit out side the grave yard, and take some photo's to put on our web site, the owners said no problem seen as you are there quite often.
So we where there about an hour and the police where great with us, no problem.
Then all off a sudden some guys came flying from the castle grounds shouting in my husbands face calling us vandals, my husband tryed to explain we where cool we where not there to harm any one or any thing, they started shouting and swearing at us rite in our face's and told us to move or they would smash the camera up. Then they pushed my cousin into the car slammed the car door onto her legs still swearing at us to leave. We tryed to explain we had permission from the owners, they got the dog and told us to leave or be bitten, we where in the car by this time trying to pull away, they had torches rite in our faces so my husband couldn't see where he was driving...They chased the car kicking it and swearing. When i noticed one guy was a sercurity gaurd but the other three where part of the tv crew. I am 35 years old and have never been threatened or talked to in this way, i was realy upset and i will never go there again.... So there you go, take my advice and even if you feel you have permission double check, as these guy's went for us they meant harm...
riotboy555
stupid tv crew. they just want to get their "exclusive" shots.
Silent-Storm

I hate tv people, the only experiences I personally have ever had with them, they have been horrible, selfish obnoxious A-holes.
They come into your space, boss you around, treat you like a lesser being with no right to be there in the first place, and everyone laps them up, with "oooo pick me as the next star" written all over their faces (except me, of course, I gave them all 'looks')
I can tell you a few stories about where tv crews have P-d me off.
If i had been there I would have sorted them out for you S-S mad.gif
I would have done a Crocodile Dundee on their dog, so that it sat down at my feet, then pulled out a "thats not a torch" far bigger torch and shone it right in their eyes. HAH. ph34r.gif
You should write to someone and complain or something...is there anything you can do?
Silent-Storm
Awwwwwwwww thanks inklepiskie.. wub.gif
We will just let sleeping dogs lie i guess, i mean are they going to take notice from us little people who have plugged there Castle for years, or a big TV company who has plugged them for one night and probably a lump some of note's...Get what i'm saying... wink2.gif

I get exactly what you're saying...its so annoying how money and the chance of fame makes people so blind.
The people you kick on your way up the ladder remember you when you come crashing back down.

That sounds terrible. To bad. I was hoping to hear somthing besides jackass TV companies and their "right to get their exclusive shots."

Thank's you guy's thumbsup.gif
Your support mean's alot to me, as i was so looking forward to telling you guy's how mutch you can have a great experience there....
Diebytheflyguy
When will you be going back up there?
Mel
What horrendous behavior....there is no excuse and you deserve an apology. The police were not around when this occured I take it?
Silent-Storm
No the police were no where to be seen, we told them to get the police as we had already had word's with police, this seemed to anger them more. So instead of stooping as low as they did with there threat's and very abusive language, we jus left.

So Diebytheflyguy, i doubt we will be going back there again in a hurry, to pay to get into the Castle, or take nightly photo's for the ghosthunter's...
Jack Black

There is number of ghosts. The most famous is the "blue boy" who as midnight rang out would cry and moan in agony or maybe fear. The noises could be traced to a spot near a passage cut through a ten foot wall.

When the bloodcurdling wails die away a soft halo of light appears around an old four poster bed. Anyone sleeping there, even today, can see the figure of a young boy dressed in blue, and surrounded by light. Behind the wall the bones of a young boy and fragments of blue clothing were discovered.

Another ghost, Lady Mary Berkeley, searches for her husband, who ran off with her sister. Lady Mary, desolate and broken hearted lived in the castle by herself with only her baby girl as a companion. The rustle of her dress can be heard as she passes you by in the turret stairs. But there are more!

A visit to Chillingham Castle is certainly worth a visit and better a stay. If you dare.[attachmentid=26531]

Picture of the torture chamber

A visit to the Torture Chamber is not for the faint hearted. It displays some interesting and gruesome (no longer used!) implements of punishment, including a stretching rack, a bed of nails, a nailed barrel and a spiked chair labelled with a warning not to sit on it!

The Iron MaidenThe serene face of the Iron Maiden with its horrible, larger than life size hinged metal casing for a live body, and the thumb screws, chains, leg irons, cages, man traps and branding irons cry out of a world long past in this country, if not elsewhere in the world.

The castle Dungeon, lighted only by a narrow slit in the thick wall, is marked with the crudely-cut scribbled letters of previous unhappy prisoners. There is a trap-door in the floor through which can be seen the very genuine bones of a child in the vault below.
