I have one quick question, I was told that I would get in trouble for putting a nother persons poem in my sig. But also in my sig I said who wrote the poem. So how can I get in trouble for that?

Since you DID include the source of the material, nothing can legally happen to you. Sounds like someone's either pulling your leg, trying to scare you or just plain unaware.

I agree with Mentalcase, there's no problem.
I think people are way more sensitive about this "copyright" thing than they should.
As long as you do not copy someone else's work and try to make money out of it, (someone would add: and as long as you don't get caught while doing it ) there's nothing illegal really.
In theory, it's even illegal to copy a video-tape, a CD-rom, a DVD, coz you'll have to prove that it's for your personal use only.
