Again, I'll try to make this long story short...
About 6 years ago, my boyfriend had a strange experience with what sounded like an extremely large, non-native or supernatural animal. He was in his bedroom listening to music at about 3:30 AM and heard this obnoxious, loud bellowing scream coming from the woods behind his house. He lived there for approximately 8 years, was an avid tracker and outdoorsman, and camped in the woods several times and never heard anything like this howl. Alarmed, he woke his parents and his stepdad went outside with him with to find out what this thing was. It was standing by a tree about 10 feet from the house and howled again sending his stepdad about 3 feet in the air and walking backwards to the door. (Military man of 25 years scared crapless, he was.) When the story was told to me, I thought angry bear(s) were the cause... Fast forward to last year, October 6, 2003... My bf's mom calls to inform us that Beastie was back around 4 AM howling and stammering around the pool area and near the bathroom wall. She wasn't able to get a good look, nor did she want too... she was scared...
With all that said... I have some bad news for anyone who may have recorded "bigfoot" howls and who live in elk territory...
I was researching birds in Pennsylvania last night and stumbled across a link of a "bugling elk"... I had my bf listen to the link and he said this was in fact the sounds he and his family heard. Interestingly enough, the elk herd in PA is supposed to be only in the Northwest corner of the state. However, a stray elk may come south once in awhile or it may have been someone's pet that got loose.
Trust me, kids, I'm a believer in BF... there's been too many sightings around here for me not to believe... Unfortuneately, we can put the "wild-angry-supernatural-screaming-like-a-mad-woman" sound that my bf heard to rest as just a bugling (i love that word) elk...
Here is the link for all to enjoy... I appologize to anyone if this debunks (i hate that word) your sasquatch .wav that you worked to hard to get...
