Wow, that is just nasty
Poor kitty, it looks like a set of twins that never fully developed in the womb. That is, when the zygote split to make identical twins, separation did not fully take place. This is a birth defect that happens in all walks of life. Its a shame, I hope they put the little kitty out of its misery.

The arachnid-kitty. I would hate to have to trim his nails...
Is the little guy alive?

I have seen the human deformities that have a second set of legs and such, I would imagine it is along the same lines...

Thats messed up. Is that two cats conjoined, or one deformed cat?
That is so sad.
I have a cousin who was born with 6 fingers on each hand, 6 toes on each foot, two sets of adult teeth and 2 spines. She had many surgeries in her life and is perfectly fine and very pretty. Doctor's blamed it on the early birth control pills.

Poor baby also has two tails... and the two pairs of hind feet point in different directions.
I'd agree with girty1600, it was a pair of twins that didn't separate properly.
And I very much hope that immediately after this picture was taken, this poor kitten went painlessly to kitty heaven.
I know birth defects happen in nature, even without human help... can't help but wonder where this kitten was, though, or how close his mom was to human contaminants of any of a million kinds.

I think i see two tails there too.
There are 3 explainations to this:
1. Twins that formed together in the womb. I imagine an x-ray would suggest the second cats skull is inbedded in the body somewhere. I can't imagine that cat, if it is alive in the picture, would be alive much longer.

2. Photoshopped arachna-kitty.
3. The kitty was part of an experiment with Teleportation and was placed in a cylinder to be teleported to the second clynder. HOWEVER, there was also a spider in that cylinder and the cats DNA fused with the DNA of the Spider. Brundle-Spider.

It was a pair of conjoined cats. It was pretty big news for a while. They died soon after birth, as they usually do.

I'm pretty sure it's a fake, I mean, look at the way it's holding its paws on the guy's hand. It'd have to be able to move them like normal arms to do that, and I highly doubt it could develop that well. But still, poor kitty.

Conjoined cats almost never live long. They're usually stillborn or die soon after birth, as was the case with this one.
mr_halo
Nov 12 2004, 01:41 AM
i wonder why they don't live long?
some conjoined human twins live long lives....
BurnSide
Nov 12 2004, 01:44 AM
Some of them do too. Wasn't there a two-faced cat that lived for a few years?
Anyway they die because of complications the joining creates with the system of the body. Blood can't flow properly, food can't be digested properly, etc etc. But in some instances it works out.

Its most likely a photoshop image, notice how all the extra limbs come from BEHIND the cat, where you can see them connecting, so simple even i could do it, if i had photoshop, anywhay, i deem this one fake. (Although i have heard of these type of things existing, so im not saying it can't happen, i just dont think this picture is real.

thats the problem you can never tell if this photo is real or not, i mean its very possible that a kitten was born like this, but that doesn't mean this is a genuine photo of this occurence....
